Our party of five stopped here for some lunch specials. All were excellent. Highly recommending the three "dips" to share: awesome guacamole, good-but-basic queso, and outstanding queso-bean dip. March 29,2024 & August 24,2024 Hubby and I came here twice the first time was a late lunch as we were in town and a local merchant sent us here. We had the large margaritas and they were phenomenal as was the Chile Relleno. Hubby thought it was the greatest Mexican restaurant. All I know was everything was great including the service. Second visit this past Saturday night was the opposite we were sat in a booth in a corner that I could not sit on one side as there was no room. So I sat next to my husband. The visuals were bleak from this corner spot. The chips and salsa were ok and hubby ordered a pitcher of margaritas. At first sip they were sweet but definitely no alcohol. We flagged down our server who had earbuds in this ears. I couldn't tell if he was getting guidance on what to do from the kitchen or listening to music. Either way he seemed disengaged. Ordered the Chile Relleno this time unlike the last the chef decided to dump chili powder in the refried beans so they were inedible. The peppers were ok it's just I really enjoy eating the three together the peppers the rice and the refried beans. Hubby did get the pitcher removed from the check and drank water instead since new drinks weren't an option. Would I come back? It's debatable definitely a lot of other Mexican restaurants to chose from closer to home. Time will tell. read more

The new layout is so big and beautiful! We haven't been in years( moved to FL) and stopped by when in town! It was our old local favorite so it was great to be able to come back! I went to LaHacienda Bluffton SC to meet other family members for dinner, from the time we walked in we were starred down as if we walked into the wrong establishment (like the little boy did on Madeas College Trip). Members of my family and I felt uncomfortable and unwanted. If you know me I was ready to leave. The customer service was the worse I have yet to encounter. They rolled eyes and was all out rude. Our waitress told us "several" times that if we stayed, our food would not be out for two hours and we sat there contemplating on another restaurant as the waitress kept coming back ensuring us that it would be a long time and he was frustrated in his deliverance I'm sure because we didn't leave yet. We decided to leave and they were standing in a small huddle in the back of the restaurant whispering and watching us get up to leave while smiling. I walked over to the bar and they proceeded to watch me and look at each other to see I guess who wanted to speak with me. When the girl finally came I asked for a manager and here comes our waitress. I turned to him and asked if a manager was there I could speak to since the girl was confused on answering. He says yes and I said well can I speak with him and he retracted his answer and said he's busy but can I help you with a smirk on his face. One of my family members said it's ok, we are leaving so I walked off from him. I say that to say this, that was my first and last time going there. I will never spend my money with such an establishment where they clearly show they didn't care for you being there. Ive heard stories and would defend them because I had never encountered nasty Latinos until this evening. I guess you can say they showed their true colors on how they truly feel which is absolutely disgusting behavior for business. Came for lunch today, brought my wife and two of our grandchildren at 1:45. Place a quarter full, two servers, serve was a little slow, but ok. Ordered the lunch 14 and my wife ordered the lunch number 20. After a while, we received our meals, the chicken and steak were tiny charred beyond recognition pieces, black and tasteless. Like the cook put all his scrap leftover crap in our meal. Never going back, paid the bill, left the garbage for the cook, hope he likes it. read more

Pickled Jalepenos, Pace Picante Salsa from the jar, store-bought guacamole, cold beans. Nothing about this place is authentic, or quality. Yet they charge like it's an authentic quality restaurant. They handed my daughter a plate full of French fries and said "here's your chicken," forgetting the chicken entirely. My wife ordered a Coke, which came out nice and flat. Wow- I might be the only review over 2 stars La Hacienda has ever had. If i had read reviews first, I would not have come here! But im staying at the hotel next door so here I am. It wasn't THAT bad, y'all. The food I ordered was good. I had the avocado salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was tender and well seasoned and they were generous with the avocado. I also had a Sope with carnitas which was really good! The service was a little slow, but I did not have any problems and my server was friendly and attentive. The margarita was good even though they put a cherry and a lemon in it...? The kicker- I listened to the rap music they were playing in the kitchen and heard someone yelling at the cooks in Spanish for most of my meal. Lol. Yeah, really doesn't look like much in a strip shopping center, but..... The people are friendly, the food is good and the drinks are delicious and a great deal. We stopped in one evening, having had our fill of seafood on Hilton Head Island, just for some drinks. We had frozen Texas margaritas with Grand Marnier, like we do at our watering spot at home. The bartender (Isabel) did them up right! And even with premium spirits, they were only $7!!!. The food is good as well, as we found out when we returned the following day. I have been to La Hacienda a handful of times while in Bluffton. One thing that stands out about this restaurant is the decor. The tables and chairs are beautiful. I ordered a large margarita and it was good. Chips and salsa are complimentary. The menu has plenty of options to choose from. The servers all appear to be bilingual and have a good understanding of the menu. I ordered the chef steak. The food was out very quickly and it was great. The salsa was spicy as requested. The portions are very big. Please note you will be charged for everything. We asked for extra limes it was .85 cents extra and tomatillo sauce was 1.00 extra. The few extra dollars added to the bill was not an issue. Any other Mexican restaurant I have been to things like this were free. read more

The few small shrimp were overcooked and rubbery; the "steak" looked like a dog chewed it first and the chicken was....I'm not sure it was chicken. This experience was like no other. The staff was accommodating until my rice and beans were served barely warm. When I asked if I could get fresh, warm food, I was treated unbelievably rude. I have never been spoken to that way by a server. She felt of the plate, and because it was warm, she said the food was ok. She said that is the way they serve them. She sent somewhat of a "manager" to address the problem. He was just as rude about it, just not as vocal as she was. They reluctantly took the plate, to bring more. It was a very long time before someone returned with the food. Luckily, we had fajitas for two, or the rest of the food would been cold by the time they returned. Then we discovered that they brought all the same tortillas, and I ordered corn tortillas due to a food allergy to flour. It took so long to get those, and by then, the rest of my family had finished their meals. When my son was trying to order his food, she told him that the way he was requesting that the chosen entree be made, he should choose a different meal. She brought the meal that she chose for him instead to the meal he ordered. Obviously, their specialty isn't serving families, but it really felt more like a bar. The music and bar atmosphere pretty much overpowered the whole atmosphere. If you're looking for a nice, friendly atmosphere to take your family, this is NOT the place. read more
