We made a reservation here about two weeks ago for my cousin's birthday. They're located by save mart and other stores. There is also plenty of parking. They sat us right away. The place is small and cozy. The waiter was very friendly and fast. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the chicken salad bowl and my hubby had the carne asada nacho fries which he said were very tasty. My kids had nuggets and fries. I'm glad they offer nuggets and fries for my picky eaters. It was the first rains in Modesto and they sure did come! For those who live in town, you probably know how it seemed we all would be rained in. The streets were flooded and neighbors were out draining the clogged storm drains. In the struggle to reach this location I saw cars that were being towed because water fried their systems. Let me just say that the trek to this top reviewed Mexican restaurant was well worth it. From the friendliness of management to the young man who was greeting every customer and giving each one dignity and respect this placed was terrific. The food speaks for itself. Restaurant is on the SW corner of Prescott and Standiford, way back in the V of a strip mall. Decent amount of parking. Accepts credit cards. Serves booze. Decent sized restaurant, but busy. Sufficient staff to get your food out hot and fast but still refill your drink glass regularly. Once seated, chips, salsa and a bowl of bean dip were promptly brought to my table. The bean dip, topped with melted cheese and green sauce, was delicious. My first taste of their green sauce, and I knew I was going to be pleased. I chose the Shrimp Chimichanga dinner, which includes two chimis nestled atop a pool of green sauce (yum) topped with crumbled white cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream, plus rice and beans. The restaurant allows you to remove the rice and beans, which lowers the price about $1.50-$2. Since I never eat them, I went the cheap route. Also tried a small side of their guacamole, which was tasty but will not require me to order a large bowl of it next time. The chimis were literally stuffed with tasty grilled shrimp and a bit of whatever they were cooked in (butter, oil, who knows). I was in heaven - no veggie filler in sight!
