I used to love coming here for burritos but prices became too expensive so stopped coming. I was craving a chile verde burrito and I remembered how much I loved El Mexicanos so I decided to pick one up for dinner. I made it wet and split with my man . 1 burrito chile verde wet cost me over $20!! Pretty pricey. When I got home and split burrito it looked great. As I started eating my half I noticed there was barely any meat. Like a couple small pieces. The rest was rice , some beans. As far as taste , burrito didn't taste fresh. My wife and I have frequently ordered 2 Crispy Taco Combos with "Carnitas" the food has been amazing and tasty another one of my Fav's. Service is a bit slow but worth the wait a Simple set up and Clean. Last night we ordered our Usual and what a disappointment, the Carnitas were not Crispy as usual and it contained a lot of Fatty meat, when we addressed the issue our Server agreed and she asked the Manager Owner to come out and he opted not to speak to us and offered a desert at no charge for the issue, we didn't finish our Crispy Tacos and were very disappointed with the offer and the refusal to speak with us. The Server did share with us that the Cook was New and the other Quit. So with much disappointment we will not be visiting Taqueria El Mexicano any longer. We wish them well. read more

This is our go-to spot when we want something quick, delicious, and easy on a weeknight! What I absolutely love about this taqueria is not just their fresh ingredients but also their outstanding customer service. They truly go above and beyond to make sure you leave happy. I placed a to-go order over the phone, and the person taking my order double-checked everything with me -- even the customizations -- to make sure it was right. When I arrived, they were super friendly and generous especially, with the chips and salsa! I had left and shortly after, they actually called me to let me know they had accidentally missed one of our items. The staff member was so sincere in his apology and immediately offered to make it right -- either by refunding us or offering complimentary drinks and/or churros. I told him that wasn't needed and we'd come back to pick up the missing order, and when we did, he had surprised us with a bag of churros to take home. That kind of care and service is hard to find these days. They genuinely value their customers, and it shows. We'll definitely keep coming back! read more

This is one of my favorite places to come when I don't feel like cooking for the family. And it's a hit with my husband and kids! Sometimes we order for take out, and sometimes we stay to eat in the restaurant. We have NEVER had a bad experience. The young man that works behind the counter is always so friendly and can multi-task while still giving you attention. I love their shrimp, carne asada, and chicken tacos. I've also ordered their red enchiladas which are great! They also make yummy pozole! My son loves their California burrito with asada. And don't skip on dessert!!! Their CHURROS ARE FANTASTIC!!! We were looking for an open Mexican restaurant after a concert since I couldn't eat meat (due to lent) and the service was the best! Guy at the counter was super friendly and explained dishes very well! I got regular nachos and they were delicious and my friend got a torda de asada and he said it was delicious too! Unassuming storefront leads into a very clean and super welcoming cafe! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The menu was simple yet just enough for everyone to enjoy. If you love having leeched chemicals, and possibly carcinogenic substances in your food, you should absolutely order takeout from this place. I ordered the wet al pastor burrito for takeout, which was actually pretty damn good. However, It was not long after a few bites that my meal was completely soiled. Before I had started eating I took the burrito out of the original packaging, but after having a closer look at the styrofoam container I noticed it looked a bit odd. I started to peel back some of the cheese from it, from which some of the styrofoam stuck to as I took it off. Having then opened it and looking at the edges it's pretty obvious that it's melted. Melted... Let that sink in. Melted into my delicious burrito. My poor delicious burrito... Much to my dismay, I chose to call the place, only to be disgusted by the people who run this place. I asked the lady who picked up the phone about the food and told her that my container appeared to be melted, from which she responded to and I quote. "Yea that sometimes happens since we microwave the food in the styrofoam containers to melt the cheese." LET ME REPEAT THAT AGAIN. THEY ARE MICROWAVING YOUR FOOD IN STYROFOAM. After she said that I was just pretty much shocked, not by the fact that I now knew for sure that my food and the container itself were contaminated, but by the fact she said those words so casually. I don't understand how the people making this food and the managing staff can be so oblivious to food safety. If they are doing this type of thing who knows what other kind of "shortcuts" and mishandling they take with their food. I feel defiled and violated. Completely and utterly betrayed by what I thought was a delicious burrito. All jokes aside, maybe I'm overreacting a bit but I'm upset. My meal and appetite are ruined for the day. Definitely not coming here again, if I could give negative stars I would. I will never look at burritos the same way again. read more

From the East Bay looking for some Tacos while I work out here and I am happy I came here. The Service was 10/10. I got 2 Carne Asada Tacos and 1 Al Pastor. Tacos were a good size, the tortillas were not dry they had a good amount of oil but not too oily. Meat was well cut & seasoned. They also have a variety of aguas frescas and I got the melon one. Every person I have introduced this place to absolutely LOVES their food. Their tamales are "stick to your ribs" good good and then GREEAAAT! Their pozole is red but is always packed with flavor. They offer ground beef option which is a hard thing to find at other Mexican restaurants in the area. I think the only other one in town is Maria's Taco Shop. They also offer tacos dorados, which is a nice change of pace from just the usual Mexican fare in the area. I ordered a small catering order here for a friend who underwent some surgery. The staff actually called in advance to confirm the order...WHICH WAS SUPER NICE because I did have to make some changes to dates. I've never eaten in the shop, however, the place is very clean. Just no bathroom. I came here once to pick up an order and had to go to the ice cream shop next door in order to visit the loo. I also love that their menu is very simple and not cluttered. Just happened to spot this place after a long bike ride and decided to give it a try. The place is spotless was my first impression. For me, the test of a taqueria is an Al Pastor Burrito -- and many places fail -- meat lacks al pastor marinade, or it's super greasy, or the beans and/or rice suck. Well this place delivered none of the usual disappointments and was truly a great burrito!! The proportion of meat to rice to beans was perfect -- and placed well inside the burrito so that every bite was a great bite!! Next test is salsas and both the red and green tasted fresh, spicy but not super hot. When added to my burrito it took it to a new level. Prices were great too. $12 for a large soda and my burrito with taxes. Service was fast but not so fast that you knew they just slopped it together. I came into the restaurant on a Thursday evening approximately 30 minutes before they closed, I hadn't eaten all day. Being recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, im trying to adjust my diet appropriately. I explained this to the waitress, asking if I could bring in a sugar free drink into their establishment, the waitress was very accommodating and even gave me a large cup filled with ice. I ordered two separate dishes one to eat at the restaurant and one to go, not realizing that the restaurant was about to close. I ordered a chicken salad and I was very pleased with the portion size as it was not a huge salad it was absolutely perfect. The chicken was cooked and it was still moist very tender best of all it wasn't over seasoned with salt or spices. I ordered chili rellenos to go, for next day's breakfast. unfortunately I should have specified or asked if I could get it without it being super spicy, my mistake. there were three staff members there at the restaurant, each one of them made it a point to stop and welcomed me in and talk with me. The food seems clean and it is filling. But you leave feeling you just paid $15 for someone to open up a few cans, wrap it in a tortilla and put some cheese shreds on top. You order at the register. They bring you your food. Everything is plastic, foam, disposable. No dishes to wash here. Salsa and sides come in little plastic cups with lids. Want chips? They will reach under the cash register, where normally they might have a little trash can, and pull out a plastic basket with chips. Just a few tables. At 12:30, only five people in the restaurant. We both had to spit out our food and discontinue eating unfortunately. The rice was not only completely bland but had a metal like flavor. Terrible food! I ordered dinner from Taqueria El Mexicana that was delivered my Uber Eats because I did not have access to my car at the time. Let me tell you, off top the chips were stale!! The beans and rice that came with the shrimp enchilada combo were old and dried up, there were very little shrimp in the enchiladas themselves and the shrimp had no flavor to speak of. The asada in the taco was very much overcooked and seemed as if it had been sitting for hours. I am thoroughly disappointed, I attempted to contact the restaurant to make a complaint but they had closed by the time I had tried the food. I could have done better making the meal in my own kitchen, what a complete disappointment. Don't waste your time or your money with this establishment, Taco Bell would have been a better option for me at this point. I should have snapped a picture before I tossed the styrofoam containers with most of the food in them in the trash. We've got to do better people.
