When the waves near the caves were rough he put on his wetsuit and guided us through two at a time. I was so grateful to have that experience. We saw lots of sea lions, as well as birds and fish. We paid $218.08 for a single and double kayak. The check in process was easy. Thereafter, we were directed to their locker room where we stowed away our belongings, obtained a life jacket and a helmet. Our tour guides Jonas and Jake were confident, entertaining and informative. My daughter was the only child in our group and they also made her feel included. The sunset ocean views were gorgeous. Rented a double kayak this past weekend to go out to the caves. Rate was approx $58 including tax. If you check in on Yelp, you can also get a free locker (as of 6/2023). The process was pretty seamless. You go in, ask for a kayak, they hand you life jackets and then you go to their adjacent building that has changing rooms to gear up, put your clothes away, etc. After that, you walk about 5-8min to the beach where they have the kayaks and one of their staff members help you launch the kayak right into the ocean. I preferred renting my own kayak vs taking a tour just because it was nice to go at our own pace and hang out as long as/little as we wanted. The double kayak was sturdy and great...and going to the caves was great where you can see the sea lions! Such a cool experience; definitely recommended for both tourists and locals alike! read more

Booked this tour to see some of the wildlife in La Jolla and it didn't disappoint! I got to see a lot of leopard sharks and of course the sea lions and garibaldi fishes. Our tour guide seemed to know a few spots where we could spot the leopard sharks and made sure we all got to see some. We also got to go kayak through one of the caves! I went on the La Jolla kayak cave tour on 5/28/23 at 9AM and it was amazing! I had a great time out in the water. It was my first time kayaking out in the ocean. They provide you with a lifejacket and helmet. The two tour guides (sorry I totally forgot their names) were funny, informative, and supportive. The tides were low and so our group were able to visit the sea caves. Unfortunately, we only spotted sea lions during the tour. I would definitely come back again. I highly recommend their kayak tour! Tips: Wear clothes that you don't care if they get wet because you definitely will get wet. Leave your shoes at the shores or leave in the storage locker. Bring an extra pair of clothes and a towel. Rent a storage lock at their shop for $8 so you don't lose your valuables to the ocean (keys, phones, wallet, etc.). I personally lost my sunglasses in the ocean when I fell off my kayak. read more

Incredible experience of a lifetime. I've done kayaking quite a few times and there's not many places on Earth where you can say you kayaked right next to seals and inside a cove! Although pricey, the natural beauty justifies it. It was my first time ocean kayaking; it is harder than lake or freshwater kayaking since the waves have a lot of force. But, it definitely is doable solo. Most of my group were in the tandem kayaks which does make it faster. My kayak guides were kind and friendly. They kept things light and fun. Once you get past the hurdle of the ocean tides, you kayak and search for leopard sharks and other creatures. Eventually, you make it to the coves and enter one of them. I was happy to see another seal hanging out in the cove. Initially I was surprised to find we only go in one cove despite it being advertised as 7. But, you enter the biggest, safest one. Even then, if you're experiencing high tides, you probably won't enter that cave so be sure to check the weather and come during a low tide day. It's about $80 with taxes included. However, it's an extra $8 for a locker and more if you decide to purchase extra items. I bought a waterproof phone baggie to hang around my neck to access it easily for photos while protecting it from water (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED- likely to have waves get your pant pockets) Overall, I had a great time and will cherish this memory forever. I definitely plan on kayaking La Jolla again or even try snorkeling next time! read more

Quincy and Sabrina were the best tour guides for our first kayak adventure! Highly recommend doing the 9am tour and getting there by 8am! Parking is very tough to come by when there's locals and tourists trying to find parking. We got very lucky, but also arrived early. We wore our swimsuits for the tour (your butts get soaked so bring a change for after). They provide you with life jackets and helmets. No shoes in kayak so might as well leave them at the shop, but no one will take them if you leave them on the beach. Don't forget sunblock! Especially for your arms and legs. We went early and had an overcast morning, however overcast is when you can suffer the worst burns. This was such an easy going and exciting tour around La Jolla. My boyfriend and I saw sea lions, a beautiful cave and successfully managed to work as a team in the kayak. We didn't take our phones out on the water cause we were nervous about loss or damage and wanted to be more in the moment. Still, an unforgettable experience. The owners, Mike and his wife, could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Mike is a native of La Jolla and was our guide (along with Ane) on the e-bikes. He took us to all the hot spots around town and we saw some really neat places! An e-bike is definitely the way to go to explore this beautiful town! In the afternoon Ane and Wyatt did a fantastic job on the kayak tour. Both were knowledgeable and informative and stressed safety first. All equipment was clean and well kept. Highlight of the trip! Ian and Brent/Brant were awesome! Brent was hilarious. We went at 5pm and got a sunset ride. In the cave, it felt like a ride at Disneyland! It was such a rush. One woman on our tour, dropped her phone in the water not sure why she brought it with her. But Ian instantly dove down to retrieve it. He could not find it, but he was relentless in trying. Went out yesterday for the sunset La Jolla Kayak with Ella & Chance. It was an incredible experience. I had never kayaked and their guidance and teaching was superb. Ella and Chance are clearly epic humans, their kindness and knowledge was so appreciated. The tour was amazing despite the grey sky. The tide was high so we were in the cove briefly, but it's a really wonderful experience. The sea lions were barking their heads off, and very playful nearby (but not too close). Since it was overcast the morning we went, it was hard to see any marine life under the murky waters, however Luca made it his mission for us to see it. We did a double kayak sea cave tour last week and it was amazing!! They checked us in, we met Desiree who fitted us with life jackets and vests. She pointed out the bathroom and changing rooms (wish we'd known about those before changing in the car lol), let us know she and Jonas would be our guides and that we could walk around but just to be back around 5 minutes before. They led us down to the beach, were clear in the instructions, everything was very organized. We had a great time kayaklng, they told us really interesting info about the cliffs, birds, sea life, and caves. We got to go inside the caves (Jonas jumped in the water and held onto our kayak for safety as it was just a tiiiny bit choppy) and there was a sea lion just chilling right there on the rocks, so cute! They did a fun activity near the end - a stand up challenge - and then carefully led us in one kayak at a time. Overall, it was SO SO fun, great guides, and an excellent experience! P.S. We lucked into a parking spot a block away, but definitely check the signs to make sure you're not in the 90 minute time limit. Our tour took about two hours. read more

Loved it all from when I paid online till we left the business. Interactive website, lots of communication with texts, reminding me address easy waiver etc. They did warn me about the difficulty in parking, but luckily when we came even though it was summer weekday, it was still easy to park. As soon as we got there, they immediately helped us with helmets life vest and locker (paid a little in advance for locker). Our group was on the sand ready to load into kayaks at 10 AM exactly when they said it would start. Brian and Wyatt were fantastic. They were fun / funny and genuinely caring. They gave us little rest breaks while we were out there and told us fun historical stories. (Although it was not very strenuous to kayak). They kept everyone very safe, unfortunately, we were not able to go into the caves due to heavy surf. They kept us a little further from the caves than another kayak tour, but I was OK with that because I was with my younger teens. read more
