This review is looooong over due. i only went to daniela twice because 1) i hardly get my lashes done, only on special occasions 2) i moved to hawaii. Daniela takes her time and is a perfectionist and it shows. I went to NYC for a wedding a few days after i got my eyelashes done and had 3 make up artists doing my makeup along with the other bridesmades. Each makeup artist were so amazed by the work daniela did and told me that my lashes were THE BEST they ever have seen. In a huge city like NYC to receive a compliment like that from a small studio in SD is a huge accomplishment. Hands down, la jolla lash does an amazing job ! The owner is super nice and listen to every detail on how I want me lashes ! She also recommend what would look good for my eye shape. She was very knowledgeable about how to maintain them and answered any questions or concerns I had. Prices are very affordable and Yelp also has a $100 for $150 deal. This is due to Daniela's very poor, unprofessional customer service. I had a lash appointment today, before my flight goes out... After talking with my boyfriend, he said there's no way I could make my flight with how TERRIBLE the traffic is. (Gotta love traffic in San Diego, some thursdays its good, some days its backed up due to an accident or, even just someone getting pulled over) Anyways, I texted her hours before my appointment apologizing profusely but letting her know the traffic report was showing there's no way my lash appointment would allow me to get to South Bay - then the airport - on time. Apologized even more. I felt terrible, of course.... SORRY SORRY & MORE IM SORRY.... She wrote back with the steaming mad emoji face (lol, how professional) and scolded me saying "this would've been nice to know!!" Well, I'm telling you now. Trust me, I would've loved to get my lashes done too but my boyfriend - who is my ride to the airport - is saying its a no-go. I am not going to miss a $700 flight for your eyelashes. I had my lashes done by Daniella a few months ago and did not like her lashes. Her pictures on Instagram were beautiful but in person they are not as black or full. I found her on Groupon and never went back. I recently had a friend go to her, where she ended up having a reaction to her products and didn't complain or go back as well. She is stuck up, was not friendly and barely spoke to me in my appointment. My friend also mentioned how she spoke badly of the other lash artist in her building (unprofessional). Only started doing lash extensions about a year ago, but I had been to 6 other Lash Artists before meeting Daniela, each time they would completely fall off after 8-10 days AND ruined my natural eyelashes and I've always had long eyelashes to begin with so it was easy to see the drastic difference. When I would try to explain this to the lash artist, and they would blame it on me and something I was doing. Since going to Daniela since February, she's already brought my eyelashes back to life in 3 short months!!! They are long like they used to be, and she explained me that she never puts glue on more than one lash at a time. Whatever she's doing, it works. The extensions also last 2 to 3 weeks and when they fall off my long natural lashes are there to still shine. I'll start by saying my lashes were just alright. They weren't anything spectacular but they weren't bad either. My biggest issue with this company and Daniella is her attitude. She is so dismissive and made me feel so awkward for the whole 2 hours I sat there getting my lashes done. She's cold and abrupt and maybe said 5 words to me the entire time I was there. It was my first time getting my lashes done and she had nothing to say when it came to the process or making me feel comfortable. I had no idea what was going on at times and didn't even know if I should have my eyes open or closed or what. My back was hurting a little bit so I wiggled around a bit and instead of asking if I was uncomfortable she snapped at me that the blanket would stop falling if I stopped moving around so much. I really can't wait to get my lashes done again as the lashes in general are fun to have, but I wouldn't go back to Daniella and I wouldn't recommend her with how many wonderful and warm people there are in the industry. read more

I've been going to Daniela for two years and think she's awesome and love, love, love my eyelashes. I go every two weeks, even though I don't need to go that often, because I so enjoy the experience. I love her. She's adorable, charming and funny. I find it incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. Sometimes I fall asleep, sometimes we talk or sometimes a little of both. Daniela's space in Phenix Suites is really cute, clean and comfortable. My own eyelashes are blond and barely there and Daniela does an amazing job considering what she has to work with in terms of my natural lashes. The extensions look beautiful and I love never having to wear mascara. A couple people have written reviews here and mentioned they think Daniela's customer service is poor, or that Daniela's attitude is dismissive. I'm sorry they feel that way and want to share an alternative point of view. I #1 Appointment cancellation policies: Self-employed beauty and fitness professions that book appointments on the hour have policies about cancellations for a reason. If someone has a late cancellation, the salon professional loses that income and they don't have time to book another appointment to fill it in. If you cancel an appointment less than 24 hours in advance, you should be expected to pay. That's a tough nut to swallow, I know, but day-of cancellations can literally be hundreds of dollars out of the salon owners income on one day. They have overhead costs that need to be covered. If you had to cancel a flight last minute, and had purchased a non-refundable ticket, would you expect the airline to just say okay and refund your money? The world doesn't work that way, and Daniela and other salon owners shouldn't be expected to either. On the other hand, if you're a regular customer and have been seeing Daniela for a long time, I can assure you from personal experience, she's incredibly flexible. #2 Daniela's attitude: I'm so impressed by her. She's so young, and so great at what she does. I wish I'd had my act together that much when I was her age. I also think she's a little shy, and I know from first-hand experience that she is going to approach conversations with you carefully--especially new customers. Some people really do want to just lay there on the table and not talk at all--it varies from customer to customer. It's one of the hardest things about being in the beauty professional business--you need to discern what level of conversation is right for each customer. If your hair person or eyelash professional doesn't get it right the first or second time, cut them some slack--they're humans. You need to get to know each other a bit before you can easily fall into a comfortable pattern. And, importantly, she's applying teeny little eyelashes to a very sensitive part of your body and she needs to be super careful. If you're a brand new client, she wants it to be perfect, and putting those little eyelashes on takes an enormous amount of focus and concentration. For the first five times I saw Daniela, I hardly said a word and she was totally focused on giving me beautiful eyelashes. Over time, we started to talk, and sometimes we even start laughing and then she has to pause for a minute to be safe. So...don't expect that your first few times are going to be all chatty--or if you're chatty--let her know you like to talk and I'm sure she will. read more

Bought her Groupon for a full set of Volume lashes + a 2-3 week fill. I'm currently on week 2 of my full set and have an appointment for my fill set for next week. Her placement of lashes and the glue used exemplifies her experience. Usually, my lashes need a fill by week 2 since my natural lashes are non-existent. She also works efficiently. I was surprised how quick she finished a Volume full set. Her office is small and inside of a building that holds multiple small businesses. She is available by text and call which is amazing. I personally enjoy text because it allows me to look back and check what time my appointment is. The only downside I would say is the parking. She is located on a busy main street. There is a lot of street parking, but it is usually full. So definitely try to get there 20 minutes early, depending on the time you go, so you can find parking.
