We ordered takeout - upon arrival we were greeted and our order taken immediately. We waited about 15 mins for 2, 2 pc street taco combos , with rice, beans, chips and salsa. The BEANS were FIRE! The portion was healthy and presented very well. I liked the idea of the restaurant set up, a simple taqueria design and plenty of seating and very clean and fresh. I had the Machaka beef fajitas and they were delicious! Really tender beef and lots of onions and green peppers. The tortillas were fresh and the refried beans were creamy and smooth. My wife had a chicken taco salad and found it to be bland with little or no seasoning. Probably would have helped to have salsa as a dressing. Portions were very nice. We'll be back. read more

I won't go back to this place anymore. I ordered and spent close to $100.00, including a $5.00 tip. I was disappointed when I got home. I ordered 2 combo fajitas. One is chicken and the other beef along with shrimp. It has only 3 big shrimp and 3 small pieces of meat. It has a size of 2 1/2 inches and not even thick meat. They are very stingy on portions of the food and at almost the same price as another Mexican restaurant and nachos don't have tomatoes, sour cream and other toppings, only melted cheese and very little ground beef. I should went to Gringo's, Alicia's, Viva Mariscos or other Mexican restaurants instead. It gives more food than the money I paid. I stopped in for dinner on Cinco de Mayo, a Monday evening.. It was very low key. The hostess was very nice, and cleared a spot for me at the bar. There were two other ladies at the bar, plus myself. Carlos was the bartender, he didn't intrude, left me alone to look at the menu, and quickly took my orders when I was ready. I ordered a michelada ($4.50), I'm not a fan of the mix they use, and did not finish my drink. I had to ask for chips and salsa, which came at the same time as my meal, but not a big deal. I did not like the red salsa (too spicy for my weak azz), but I did like the green salsa, it was a little creamy and the flavor was good. And I liked the chips. I ordered the stuffed avocado with chicken ($17.99), and instead of rice and beans, I ordered mixed veggies. The mixed veggie were a huge potion, and super fresh and hot and good. I was pleasantly surprised when the bill came that there was not an up-charge for the veggies!!!! The avocado was pretty big, and it was delicious. Total bill, with tax $24.33 + tip. They have a covered patio area, I didn't go out there, so I can't really comment on it. The bar has a TV, Astros were on (bonus) but lost. The chandeliers in the bar do not go with the decor or the Tex Mex theme, but they are pretty. Seems like a nice family place if that is what you are seeking. I'd visit again, order something besides the michelada, and try another menu item. read more

No names were given out to that extent so it seems that he took her name from the credit card payment. Sounds completely unprofessional to me and a misuse of the buyers personal information. Food was mediocre and the fajitas were the thickest and chewiest meat I've ever tasted. With much better fajitas around Morton don't waste your time! Love this place! Great service by nice people. Food is amazing. The fajita meat is by far the best I've ever had. So flavorful and moist. The refried beans are delicious. Definitely homemade. Also I don't usually eat the rice at Mexican restaurants but I tried theirs and ate it all. Everything is seasoned so well. I like that you get red and green sauce with tortilla chips. Tried this new little hidden gem tonight on a whim and it did not disappoint!! Seriously, you have got to try this place! The chips were warm and fresh and the salsa had such an amazingly full flavor and the perfect amount of heat. An added bonus is the yummy green sauce which wasn't spicy at all making it the perfect companion to the red salsa. I got the street tacos - yummy chopped steak (no nasty fatty pieces) with fresh cilantro and onion (both fresh and sautéed) served in perfectly crispy corn tortillas. The tortillas we not dry at all - just the perfect crisp on the edges. The flavors were spot on with the steak but I had to add some of the green sauce they brought out with it because I'm a sauce girl and that was definitely a bit hot! But tasted soooo good it was worth the pain ha ha! My husband got the Erika's plate - shredded chicken enchilada and beef taco Al carbon. He also thoroughly enjoyed both but would rate the taco higher than the enchilada. The service was amazing, the restaurant very clean. It wasn't busy on a friday evening and isn't fancy which is exactly what we were looking for on this super hot Houston summer evening. We will definite be back!!!! read more

Went for breakfast and was not impressed to say the least. None of our food came out at the same time; it was literally like they were making one plate at a time. They forgot my order so by the time my food came out everyone was already done eating. I ordered huevos rancheros and my eggs were burnt. Also found a hair in my coffee cup so gross. I have been here twice before but tonight was first night getting food to go. I order a chimichanga which is a fried burrito. I've never had a restaurant mess on up before but tonight....wow the Chimichanga looked barely cooked not even close to crispy and my house is very close to this restaurant so it was just not cooked fresh. The rice was stale....ugh. I love Tex-Mex but I guess Morton Ranch just isn't bringing it around here...Only reason for 3 stars is the Margaritas and Dine in is normally good. read more

Cheese, everything we had was OVERWHELMED with cheese. There was so much cheese I thought I was in Wisconsin. Pico was just okay. Salsa just okay. The margarita was barely okay. This hidden gem is at the end of a plaza on Morton Road. We stopped in for a quick lunch and we're quite surprised by the welcoming atmosphere, not overly big it has several tables and a small bar. We were greeted right away and promptly brought chips and salsa accompanied by a creamy green sauce. The chips were crispy and the salsa slightly spicy. I ordered the veggie enchiladas with Verdi sauce in place of ranchero. It came with rice and refried beans, I enquired about substituting the refried beans for different beans and was pleasantly surprised by the cup of beans that replaced them. It had several different types of beans, some mild peppers and chunks of meat in a soup consistency. Actually they substituted the same in my husband's meal unrequested but he was so impressed with them it was okay. As for the enchiladas they where full of fresh veggies, covered with cheese and a tasty verde sauce, good veggie enchiladas are hard to find and these were some of the best. My husband ordered the poblano pepper stuffed with cheese, he had an option to choose beef, in the end it was too much cheese because it was topped with cheese as well but that was personal preference. All in all the service was good the food was great and a large margarita was $5. They used a mix rather than real juice however they did not skimp on the tequila. Definitely will go back.
