I was looking for a place to have lunch and thought of La Madeleine. I walked in and the guy behind the register didn't even acknowledged me even as looked for the menu. I ordered the cranberry pecan salad with chicken. Once the salad was brought to my table i noticed that it was drenched in the vinaigrette. I ate the chicken and some of the salad but too much dressing. I didnt finish the salad. It could have been a good salad if i would have asked for dressing on the side. 3 stars for poor service and my meal being underwhelming. read more

Had chase offer on IHG mastercard, so rolled out to El Paso from NM while visiting parents. its a bit higher class and sophistication for this area of TX but had dine in seating unlike all of NM. Coconut Cake Slice Penne pasta was properly cooked and sauced subtly with just the right amount not to overpower the flavor of the chicken that was again subtle soft and delicious served w/ a breadstick that was also soft and tasty. Dipped lemon Madeleine into latte, only regret was doing this. Their Lemon Madeleine moisture content was perfect and makes Starbucks seem very sub standard, worth while getting quickie half dozen takeout just for the Madeleine's. Coconut cake slice was again very good, however if you are partial to coconut creme pie, choose something else. 2nd time I've eaten at La Madeleine. 2nd time there's been an issue with the food service. Had to wait half an hour for a couple of sandwiches (while customers after us were served their food). Manager took our receipt & said there was a mix-up with the order but she was making us a fresh order. Manager didn't offer something before our food was finally made. Went on an early Sunday afternoon, first time ever. It was a nice relaxing atmosphere, very well stocked with employees. Had an omelet, was good, had a nice selection of ingredients to choose from. The croissant that came with it was huge, very good. The two jams provided on a table for the restaurant were very good, but very small in quantity. My wife had a chicken crepe with broccoli with a pesto sauce from the menu. She really liked it. Her mimosa was good, they give you a split of champagne with a glass of orange juice to mix your own. So happy we were able to try this new westside location out. Being fans of the other location we were so excited to have a closer place. The decor was the same, very French Country and welcoming. We were excited to see some menu selections that were specific to the location. Food was as expected....on point. Service was top notch. After placing my order including a soft drink, I realized that I would rather have coffee. The waitress quickly swapped it out for me. I am delighted that La Madeleine has come to El Paso. El Paso definitely needs some cafe style food with cute and delicious pastries. I really enjoy all the desserts that they have to offer. They have creme brûlée, croissants, and cakes galore! For a chain restaurant their desserts are actually pretty good. I never had a problem with old desserts, yet at least. Their tomato basil soup is what I keep coming back for. Thank the Lord they also sell it in a jar!! I was craving tomato basil soup and it definitely satisfied that craving. They also have a bread station where you can eat all the bread you want! They have multi grain bread, sour dough, wheat, and best of all they have butter and jams!! I could just come here to eat bread all day but my diet won't let me. If you want to take it to go you can too! I love the atmosphere here and the decor is really nice. Found a table and took advantage of the free bread. The jam was great. The coffee was good but I returned the croissant. waiter Vanessa came back with a choco/ almond croissant and my order of the other croissants. I asked why I got the choco/almond. Vanessa said it was compensation for the hard croissant. And said the almond was in the oven. Of which didn't make sense. I took a looking at my to goo box and there were only three croissants??? A few minutes later Vanessa arrives with the warmed-up almond croissant??? After I was given a choco almond croissant. Several minutes later Vanessa comes back with the order of Croque madame....not what I ordered! I asked for a refund. After drooling over the commercials, on a shopping excursion to El Paso we opted to have lunch here. It was busy, so I took that as a good sign. I didn't realize you would have to wait in line to order your food. Because it was busy, we had 2 people hold a table while we memorized their orders and placed our own. We placed our orders with ease and the server that brought it to our table was very nice. FIRST, you need to know that the Caesar Salad comes with Chicken. I don't recall seeing that on the menu so perhaps I overlooked it. The server happily replaced it. Wasn't it supposed to be freshly made? It was wilted and very chilled..and NO PARM! Shame! This tells me they pre-mix it with the dressing and refrigerate it. The other 2 ladies with me experienced the same with their salads. My Quiche Florentine was tasty! Light and fluffy! BUT the bottom crust was soft and not properly cooked. The Chicken Friand la Madeleine looked so incredibly unappetizing. A white plate with mushroom color gravy covering what looked like a sponge! It looked like $hit on a Shingle! Someone needs to explain to La Madeleine that you eat with your eyes first..when it doesn't look good, you really don't want to eat it. It too was a disappointment in flavor as well. Next, the Croque Monsieur. Looks nothing like I've ever seen it! However, my aunt seemed to enjoy it because she was a fast member of 'The Clean Plate Club'. She also isn't a foodie..so she wouldn't know a traditional Croque Monsieur from what she received. When this restaurant opened up on Mesa we always wanted to stop by, you don't see many French restaurants in El Paso so we were curious. Overall it was an awesome experience. Fresh hot coffee, delicious breakfast, and the dessert is to die for! We ordered the Parisien Eggs Benedict and they were great! The hollandaise sauce adds great flavor to the eggs and the croissants are good too! The dessert is amazing! I highly recommend the coconut cream cake. I ordered $127.27 worth of goods for a pick up delivery on Saturday, September 26, 2020. WE were given a pick up time of 30 minutes. We got there, waited and waited and waited.... FINALLY 50 MINUTES LATER, we received our order. We tried to check our order but when I got home to Las Cruces, we were missing a $20.00 package of those neat heart cookies and some tomato soup. (That came to a total of $22,99 plus tax...) I immediately called and the MANAGER, "ERIC" said he could not refund me until Monday because the "bookkeeper" was not in. I have waited and waited and waited. Finally I called them yesterday, Oct 5th, and asked ERIC where my refund was, as it had not been put back on my card. He put me on hold for 10 minutes, and came back and said that since a "third" party charged me, (who the heck is the "third party"???), and the bookkeeper had not heard back from them. (Of course ERIC did not care that it was MY MONEY that they had! He told me she would have to contact them again!! (On top of all of this, our order also was missing the dipping sauce for the dip sandwich! The ham and cheese was old and awful!) I will NEVER EVER EVER get ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN! I had a wonderfully simple breakfast with the best sausage I've ever had. It was lean and juicy, without the fat or gristle you get in so many other sausage. The eggs were good. Add a yummy Chocolate Almond Croissant and a French Roast Coffee and I was in Heaven. My companion had the French Toast and was delighted at how unusual it was and delicious to boot. We ended up taking more Chocolate Almonds Croissants with us which made a great late night snack. I'm sort of happy I don't live close by. I'd eat the pastries all the time and end up the size of a house. They all looked so wonderful in the pastry case.
