For a sweet treat, I think this little place tucked on the B concourse is a real hit (B19, to be precise). But sheesh! My humble recommendation is to work out their ordering system. People congregate and get stuck after ordering, trying to get coffee, when it's busy. There's no room to move around others who have ordered and are getting their coffee. At the same time people are trying to approach the counter to pick up their orders. It's just too disorganized imho. Also, what I didn't like was the woman screaming out orders. That's your system? Screaming when ordered are ready? It was really disconcerting. To top it off, customers were scolded by another employee telling customers to make sure we're listening for our order number. I think they really need to figure out a better system. Put fewer people on the register and put more people assisting customers and managing the dining space around your order counter. It was all just very confusing and not a pleasant experience. I hope this feedback is instructive to the owners or the manager to look at system improvements to the employee and the customer experience. It's not the customer's fault if they have nowhere to go to wait for their orders. So I hope you give this some thought. read more

This place holds a special place in my heart! We ordered the HAVE TO tomato bisque and Ceasar salad! Both absolutely delicious. And left with a bevy of pastries! I grew up on La Madeleine and where I live now doesn't have it, so I enjoy grabbing some nostalgic food here whenever I travel through PHX airport. I was a little disappointed the chicken salad doesn't have hot chicken like a regular location. It also doesn't have the same flavoring and spices. It's just cold bland chicken on top of your grab and go salad. My husband really enjoyed the French dip sandwich - crispy bread and piping hot with the sauce. It is noticeably pricier than a regular location, but well it's an airport so...I'm just glad to have the food options. The food was good, particularly for airport food. The service was super fast! Best of all, our server/cashier Guy was a true gem. He was so charming and upbeat, it really made our day. Fast food gets really old when you are traveling. Thank goodness for this gem in the Phoenix airport. I've never been to this part of the terminal, but I was captured by the effervescent sound of a young man letting travelers know that they had "real" food. I chose the chicken crosaint sandwich. She did everything she could do to please me with her wealth of information about the menu. Last night I had a quick layover in PHX. I had only 19 minutes to grab something to eat. The easy choice was to wait in the line at the Golden Arches, but next door was La Madeleine. No line, so I gave it a try. It was late, so unfortunately pasta and chicken salad was no longer available. I had the Croque Monsieur with ham. OMG, this sandwich was SPECTACULAR! It was so good I thought, "I have to give these guys a review." They promised it would take only 10 minutes, and it did. It came with my choice of chips or a banana. This is a great pastry shop located in the Sky Harbor airport in Phoenix. They have a large selection of pastries, and the staff is amazing. On an early layover so we stopped in for breakfast. I had the croque monsieur and my husband had the yogurt parfait and a croissant. The sandwich was fabulous and the parfait was yummy and fresh. When you ask the staff if their Croissants are fresh and they acknowledge they just came out of the oven and you get what tasted like a day old roll, it's hardly worth the $6 bucks. La Madeleine is a quick dining option if you find yourself in Terminal 4 of Phoenix Airport. It's a bakery/cafe so most of its menu includes baked goods, such as sandwiches, croissants, and pastries. You would think a bakery would at least have decent bread for its sandwiches, but I was pretty disappointed with the ham sandwich I ordered ($9.57). The bread was stale so the sandwich overall tasted dry. Perhaps they didn't have fresh bread that day, but for a bakery, that's not a good sign. I did get a side caesar salad, which tasted fine, but I would not order a sandwich in the future. read more

I used to work for LM under a different franchise. I miss the pasta. I arrived ridiculously early before my flight and decided to make my way over here. Busy this evening. There is a good selection for quicker meals. Sandwiches and the dessert case available to grab before your flight. I decided to sit down and order the pesto pasta with extra sauce. I can't give four stars because it kinda bugged me that I didn't get a breadstick-what comes with all adult pastas-I got the half of a bread bun for sandwiches in place of a breadstick. So one off for that. Also the tables feel very flimsy to be honest. But what matters is the food. The pasta is delicious. Sauces were hot once handed out to me. Breadstick/bun was hot as well. So I can't discount them too much because the staff here is working it hard and it's an airport location of a chain brand. On busy days they probably run out fast. Even the manager is jumping in. A tall man in a red shirt, helping declutter and clean up tables. So everyone is swinging hot and doing a great job. Soda station is clean and stocked. It's an airport, so the bathroom review goes to sky harbor (it's clean). Hot coffee checked 3 times by staff while writing this (!). They are working hard tonight and myself, and many others sitting here would agree we're happy with the food and the service. Thank you. read more

Ooo la la! This is a hidden treasure that I will go out of my way to eat at whenever I am at PHX airport. We just got off a 4 hour flight and we're looking for a place to eat before our next flight and this friendly guy Bartholomew had a tray of croque sandwiches and offered us samples. So we were passing by and this place just stood out! Bartholomew gave some samples which were magnificent and we popped in. We got our food and it was delicious following Bartholomew's advice we got some tomato soup to dip our sandwiches in. He even brought us free cookies which I highly recommend, there was a lot of good flavor and the texture was the good kind of soft, not too soft and not too hard.
