I LOVE macarons so I had to get all the flavors. They were amazing! The matcha green tea with red bean macaron was my favorite. The strawberry matcha latte and Thai ice tea were delicious. Food was prepared quite fast, everything was fresh and delicious! They are flexible on substitutes for sandwiches (I got chicken pesto instead of the Turkey pesto) Their boba is out of the world! It's super soft! My boyfriend normally doesn't like boba but even he admitted he would get it next time. Their unique baked goods are also amazing. Hole in the wall cafe, located on the first floor of a medical/professional building. This small cafe serves boba drinks, coffee, macarons, and other desserts. I ordered a mango matcha latte, and strawberry matcha latte, both with boba. I also got all 3 diff flavors of mochi bites, 2 matcha muffins, and an ultimate club sandwich. The ultimate club sandwich was a very good sandwich, probably a top rated sandwich, even compared to Mr Pickles or Ikes, and the price was reasonable [a little lower than $10 before tax]. The lady was very nice too; she was informative of the desserts on the display. She also offered thousand island dressing, for my sandwich since they were out of mayo. I even said i had mayo at home, and it was okay, but she even offered to keep the thousand island either inside the sandwich, or on the side. Great service! The lattes were good, but light on the matcha tasting side. The boba was super chewy and soft, which was great! Mochi bites were soft and fluffy texture-wise, and they had a nice buttery flavor to them both. Matcha muffins were not too sweet, and tasted very home-y. read more

Per Yelp, shop closes at 3pm. We stopped by after 3 just to see if they might still be open and they were! Cute little shop but few selections on desserts when we came. Maybe because it was past their closing time. But you can still order any of their drinks and I would think their sandwiches would still be available too. We tried their matcha muffin and matcha brownie and both were delish, not so sweet. We also got their free iced thai tea if you check in on Yelp and spend $10 or more, so that was a treat :) We'll definitely come back to try their other desserts next time, hopefully earlier so there's more selections to chose from. read more

I love this place! Not only are the staff extremely kind and accommodating, but all the desserts are made in-house and so good. I highly recommend the miniature cupcakes, particularly the matcha strawberry ones, and honestly any flavor of macaroon. I've probably tried every flavor(Oreo, matcha, matcha strawberry, chocolate, passion fruit), and each one is a solid size and mouthwatering. I wish I lived in Burlingame so I could come here everyday. All of their treats are housemade. Super friendly service! I love getting their ginger matcha latte. It has real bits of ginger in it and the matcha is bright so you can tell it's premium if not ceremonial. It's also just the right sweetness They put a lot of care into what they make and are creative about switching up their menu. They even have housemade almond croissants!! Today they had a housemade matcha cupcake with passion fruit buttercream which was DELICIOUS. I've also had their strawberry matcha mochi muffins which vary in texture depending on when you get it. It doesn't have strong matcha flavor but is good. A little on the sweeter side. Their matcha muffins are my favorite because it's not too sweet. Their macarons are also housemade. I come here whenever I'm in the area and still in love with this little place. Consistency is something I find restaurants sometimes have an issue with but my food is always amazing here ( been 4 times since last review ). Service is always amazing. Visited this cafe today and was pleasantly surprised at the tastiness of the club sandwich . It was not a triple decker sandwich but had a warm ciabatta roll with ample meats within. My mom had the BLTA and this was served on toasted white bread. You must try one of the homemade baked goods. Heard about La Matcha cafe from a friend, so decided on my way to work, to pop by and pick up some eats to share with my office mates. This little place is tucked away on the ground floor of a nondescript, rather outdated looking office building. It's not exactly visible from the outside, but a little sidewalk sign indicated that I was going in the right direction. It was easily located just inside the front entrance of the building, and I was pleasantly surprised after entering to find the country chic interior, was very inviting and cheery despite the contrasting exterior. I was greeted right away by one of the owners, Vicki. She was very pleasant and patient, considering I was rather indecisive, having not come prepared. I had actually been very enticed by an amazing looking chicken salad sandwich that was posted on Yelp, however didn't want to be the weirdo ordering chicken salad at 0825 in the morning. So I opted for the more traditional breakfast sandwiches and hurriedly messaged my co-workers for their meat preferences. Waiting for their responses gave me time to peruse the macaron's in the display case. The desserts, mind you, are made in house; and I, having had sampled Stephanie's handiwork, the other owner, through a holiday ordering program, knew I wasn't leaving without some. I ultimately placed an order for 6 croissant sandwiches. Three of which were sausage, and three with bacon. I needed at least 10 macarons, one for each of my office mates that day, but Vicki easily persuaded me with the cliché "cheaper by the dozen" tagline, knowing I'd be the happy recipient of the extra two. So I ordered a dozen variety macarons. Not knowing how I'd be carrying all this out, I opted against drinks, but once again I was expertly advised to get one for myself while I waited. As I'm no coffee connoisseur, I fumbled making a decision once more, when Vicki asked if she could suggest the Ginger Matcha Latte. Feeling experimental, I agreed. Service was a little slow, because Vicki was the only one there at the time. However, I bided my time on my laptop, sipping the latte that ended up being a wonderful morning pick-me-up! Steamy hot, with a nice frothy top, sprinkled with a fine dusting of matcha powder; the latte was smooth, and not overly bold, with a perfect balance between both the ginger and matcha. As I waited, the regulars made their way in, adding a very mom-and-pop feel to the place as they chatted with the owner by name. Before long I was on my way, brown bag full of goodness in hand. When I arrived at work I doled out the croissants to ravenous co-workers before indulging myself. I was most amazed by the fluffy generous portion of egg, maintained even after being piled in a bag amongst others. Nothing in comparison to the greasy, flat, over fried kind served at places most accessible to me at work. Combined with the savory sausage on the delicious buttery croissant, I was left perfectly content with my selection. Full as I was, I was too excited to wait, and delved directly into my macaron. I had of course circulated the box around and was left with the cookies and cream, and strawberry flavors. The cookies and cream, while not as pristine in appearance as the rainbow assortment of others, did not fail to satisfy! Softness to perfection, filled with creamy center left me wishing I had been a littler greedier and kept some more to myself. The strawberry I brought home to my husband...he also being familiar with Stephanie's work, would have sulked had I not shared, knowing I was going there. Again, the strawberry did not disappoint! All in all, don't be fooled by the simple appearance of American staple breakfast and lunch menu items; this little gem does traditional to perfection! The little cute cafe is hidden in a medical bldg in Burlingame across from the mini shopping center. It was absolutley equisite. I wiah I lived closer or I'd be going everyday. They made a lobster bisque soup, that is "out of this world" and with reasonable prices. Also great latte's and fudge brownies.
