Mmmm-matcha strawberry mochi bites are amazinggg. The soft, yummy mochi bites just warm you up with happy goodness and almost taste as if it's melting exquisitely in your mouth. The texture and flavor are so good! I haven't gotten the chance to try anything else from this cafe, but the mochi bites alone are worth trying this place. The service was decent. Nothing that really stood out, but nothing bad. The cafe is in an isolated and quiet area, so it's easy to miss unless you're looking for it. The parking is a row in a one-way, easy enough to park. When I discovered there was a matcha Cafe located in the peninsula I knew I wanted to check it out. I was quite hyped for it cause who doesn't like the idea of a cafe specialising in mainly matcha. I finally made my way here a few days ago and I could say all this time I wasn't missing out on much. Coming from SF we called ahead of time and asked if the staff can reserve two matcha brownies. The staff was really friendly and accomondating and held on to our order until we arrived. We got there around 2 a he before they close and they had decent selection of pastries available. So we got total order of strawberry and mango lattes, matcha brownies, strawberry cupcake, and I think almond matcha crossiant. All in all the pastries were fresh but they definitely did not taste like matcha. The drinks had a subtle matcha taste but not that string bitter Uji matcha taste. I came here expecting really strong matcha flavored offerings but left disappointed. I think it's entirely the fault of the matcha they source from. If they used let's say Uji Matcha in their pastries and drinks it def would be a real .atcha cafe. read more

This place was super small but I love their interior design! Gives a very coffee shop vibe. They are located right below a building with multiple offices so people occasionally do work in their cafe. Good thing they have free WiFi! Just ask the cashier for the password! I tried one of their top drinks, the strawberry matcha latte, especially because I'm such a fan of the boba guys' one, but I really liked how la matcha cafe's strawberry matcha isn't as sweet even without sugar adjustments! I haven't had the chance to try any of the other drinks but am looking forward to trying their Thai tea since it's also one of their top drinks! Really like this place. Had a few issues the first few times I came because I'd come in the afternoon around 2-2:15 and they'd be closed. Found out that they are a very small family owned place so sometimes they have to go pickup their kids. Can't blame them for that. Both of us preferred the mango matcha latte over the strawberry, and it's not as common to see a mango matcha drink! If you spend at least $10, and check in on yelp, you also get a free thai tea. We did that but they forgot about the tea. We decided to not remind them as we didn't really care for it in the first place. The employees were very nice, and it seems like they have a lot a of regulars. The interior was very clean. It's a small space and they decorated it well. What a hidden gem! This cafe is located on the bottom floor of a medical building. There's parking in the front and back of the building. The cafe itself is cozy and welcoming. We've visited a few times and even ordered macarons for a party. These are honestly my favorite macarons! They are big, tasty, and have the perfect chewy consistency. Tried this little cafe during my lunch break while I was working from home. The people are very friendly and the drinks we had were good. I tried the ginger matcha latte iced with oat milk, black sugar fresh milk with oat milk, and the thai iced tea with oat milk. All were very good! I have never seen a ginger matcha latte so I was excited to try something new. My only complaint is that the boba seemed a little overcooked, but I appreciated that it was cooked fresh (it was warm!!). I would come back again!! read more

(Location: In a business center, 2 hr parking lines the street) I love matcha and strawberry, and would never have thought the two could be married well together in a boba drink. I've always wanted to try La Matcha Cafe but couldn't make it during their limited hours before (when I was working in the South Bay). However, cut to this whole shelter-in-place madness/debacle, I needed to get out of the house to get groceries. I also had a huge matcha latte craving! The owner, Vicky, was super accommodating when I called ahead to place a pick up order: thai iced tea, mango matcha latte (with real mango purée!), a vegetarian sandwich, and a matcha strawberry mochi muffin! Everything was so fresh and delicious!! Vicky hand bakes all of the pastries and items! Vicky is very sweet and friendly, and we talked about her shop and other small businesses affected by the Corona Virus. I can tell she deeply cares about her shop, her employees, and she takes a lot of pride in her drinks, desserts, and food. Her shop is really clean. She even wiped down the square credit card machine before I signed my name. I've never had any issues finding parking (plenty of 2 hour parking available at the main street) and it's just a few steps away to their front door. I've been here several times. And I'm just calling it like I taste it. Something about the homemade strawberry puree with the small bits of strawberry chunks, mixes so well with the matcha and milk. I HAVE to get this every time I come here. But the drink pairs well with pretty much anything else I order to eat. I've had their breakfast croissant; nothing fancy but hot, slightly flakey, and delicious. Their Cobb Salad with loads of chicken breast and bacon. Their mochi muffin bites; these are frickin delicious! I always have to order 2 since I just toss'em back like mints. And their macaroons!!! For the price you get a really decent size macaroon and it's perfectly chewy enough but also firm enough to balance out the filling. And you know how I know this is a quality place? They make recommendations on when to eat their food! For example, I get a few of their mochi bites and the owner says "eat it now while it's warm so the mochi doesn't harden". Yes Ma'am! Or "Make sure to stir the strawberry puree with your matcha, to combine the flavors". Yes chef! A little small hole in the wall cafe. Came in around 2 pm on a Saturday afternoon and there was no line. It was very welcoming and the cashier was super nice and patient. We ordered the bagel sandwich, crossiant sandwich, matcha strawberry and the matcha smoothie. Let me tell you that this matcha strawberry is as good as boba guys in sf. The flavors were there. Also got a free macaron from the yelp checkin! It is huge compares to the ones from French bakery, and quite sweet per my taste. Tried this spot on a late Thursday morning and was pleasantly surprised. The breakfast sandwich was nicely sized (not teeny like most places) and the egg was so fluffy! They didn't skimp on cheese either with one slice on each side, yum. The blueberry mochi bite muffin had a good chew and wasn't overly sweet. Coffee was good too with no burned or bitter taste. Very quiet while I was there, with a few regulars coming in to pick up sandwiches and maybe one or two visiting patients (lots of medical offices in this building). Came in on Halloween for a Sausage, egg, & cheese croissant as well as an Iced matcha drink with boba. Both were delicious! The sandwich tasted very fresh with the soft moist croissant perfecting it. The Iced matcha drink had a nice frothy milk on top with just the right sweetness level for me. They also mentioned all the baked goods were made in house! Truly a hidden gem. Even though there are many food options in the area, La Matcha is one of my top faves. Also it's a plus that I can just walk there from my work. The menu is pretty simple but enough to please all crowds. My fave picks are the cobb salad, grilled chicken sandwich, iced vanilla latte with oat milk or black tea boba tea, and a mochi bite (probably not the correct name but that's what my mommy brain decided one). I still need to lose 10 lbs of my weight when I had my daughter (3 years ago) but I'm convinced the mochi bites are the reason why the pounds aren't dropping. If you're a mochi fan, you need to order at least 3. So. Freaking. Good. The ladies there are super friendly. The ladies who work here are awesome! Super nice and told us about their upcoming seasonal packaging for holiday items. The cafe itself is super cute as well! The location was a little hard to find as it is located inside the medical center/pharmacy area. Now to talk about our goodies: the macaroni were great! They were a little cold (perhaps refrigerated) when we got them so they were a little crunchy, but we decided to let them get to room temperature and they were delicious! I've gone a few times now & each time I was not disappointed. My coworkers and I each got turkey pesto sandwiches & they were so large! Finally got to check this place out this past Saturday. Adorable, clean, and tastefully decorated cafe which serves baked goods, lunch, and tea/coffee drinks. We got the regular brownie, the dirty matcha latte with boba, and a jasmine milk tea with boba. We also tried a friend's almond croissant as well as a strawberry matcha tea with boba. Boba drinks and desserts were delish and service is extremely friendly. They also have a sandwich/lunch menu which I'm sure would be worth trying as well. Will definitely return!! It's a bit hard to see the storefront as there isn't any signage on the building itself. However just look for the standing board on the sidewalk, and know that it's right inside the office building (left hand side when you enter).
