My dad's caldo looked amazing! Lots of veggies, a mini corn on the cob & fresh cilantro, diced onions & lime on the side. The prize was their HOMEMADE corn tortillas! WOW! The best we've ever had!! Unfortunately for me, my big bowl of red menudo was very disappointing! It had a very FOWL smell! I couldn't get myself to even taste it!! I've eaten menudo ALL MY LIFE , my mom & Tia's made it for every family event. They always cleaned it super well & my mom always said not everyone cleans it like she does. ANYWAY, I told the lady that it smelled bad & I didn't want to take any chances, of course she tried to deny it, but I assured her I know my Menudo! I had some yesterday at Food City (it was delish!!) She took it back & I ordered 1 carne asada taco, it was good. I appreciate that the ladies/cooks wear hairnets too! She refunded me my $12. My dad loved his caldo but couldn't finish it, I really wish they offered a smaller size. We will come back & try other things but never again Menudo. As we were leaving I noticed a Hispanic male customer that also ordered Menudo & I noticed that he ate the soup & left all the tripe in the bowl, made me wonder? Some people are afraid to say anything, I'm not especially at the chance of possibly getting food poisoning. We will definitely come back for the regular size corn tortillas & to try other things.
