My buddy and I ate here for lunch yesterday and again the food was good and the service better. I had a simple quesadilla with chicken and guac which I thought was very good, my friend had a basic beef taco lunch. He said it was "meh" which and it didn't make him want to switch from the two competitors we dine at also. I liked it more than my friend for sure but our server, an attentive young woman named Loren, made the meal fun. She has a great personality and was very helpful. Someone at this location is doing a great job at identifying future staff members and training them up right as both times I've eaten here the servers stood out. Kudos to management and/or HR. I'll eat here again but leave my friend with his questionable palate at home next time, lol. read more

Been coming here for a long time, can say it's officially off my places to go. Got chips/salsa with no water to drink, grandsons mouth was hot, waitress never returned with water. Came here today with my family to celebrate my sons 18th birthday. We had such a great experience and we appreciate you guys making it a memorable time for our family. I had the chicken carbon salad no cheese and it was insanely good! Grilled chicken cooked to perfection. Crispy edges and so flavorful. The salad had sautéed mushrooms & caramelized onions and tomato's. It was so good I will be thinking of it for a while. Dressing is on side, I was honestly able to eat the whole things without dressing because it was so good but added a little in the end to try the Jalapeno ranch and it was great! Definitely had a kick to it. The sever was so nice and kind and gave my son advice as he was looking to get a server job. Ajo Al's is my GO TO for Mexican food! I love the all day happy hour on Monday, but the prices any day of the week are worth it. The friendliest staff, tastiest food, and best margaritas -- I could sit at the bar all day (and I probably have). The entire restaurant is so welcoming and chill, and I go there every chance I get. Came here for Father's Day for breakfast. I got the eggs Benedict which was good the hollandaise sauce was different but still delicious I also liked their country potatoes. Always a pleasure dining here. Kenzie was a great server and got us fed and watered. Portions seem ever so slightly smaller than before but it's still a lot of food by Canadian standards. The brisket and carnitas were bomb. The guac on point per usual. The beans were a bit too blended (heavy) and the rice needed extra seasoning. All in all, GREAT FOOD which is why we keep returning. This was our first time back in nine years. They had changed ownership back in those days and the food quality decreased so we visited with an open mind and an empty stomach this round. Food - quality of food was about the same as before. It was just ok sadly. The taste of the chicken was bland and on the dry side. Nachos were ok, the cheese is not melted already dried to the chips. The cheese crisp was average and chips and salsa were tasty. Service - our waitress was awesome. (Forgot her name but I remember she had ink written down her finger) She was personable and on top of her game. She brought everything we requested in a timely manner. I've eaten here 8 times and love it, on 5/8 I came in and got the mushroom enchalladas with steak, they were fantastic. I got home went to bed and woke up throwing up, I threw up 30 times- the kind of food positioning where my body kept throwing up the stomach bile. This ruined my Mother's Day weekend. First time going to this location, did not know they had one on the west side! Service and atmosphere is WAYYYYYYYY better than the one in Scottsdale off of 90th St.! TONS of seating and booths inside, nice big bar. Very clean bathrooms but NO toilet seat covers. Should probably fill the toilet seat, cover container or take it off the wall. Tons of food options for anything that you are craving! This location serves mini pitchers of beer, which is awesome! Also had a frozen raspberry margarita, which was good especially on a hot day. We also ordered an à la carte, shredded beef, taco, kids, mini beef chimi's, pollo con queso, quesabirria tacos, cheese, quesadilla, and cheese crisp all were excellent! They have some lunch specials, but none that were really appealing to me so I decided to order off the regular menu being my first time that I visited here. I was very pleased with the service and the food. The food came out in a timely manner, and the server mentioned in the beginning she was new and if we had any questions she would do her best to answer She did really well without any assistance, and the food came out quickly and was very good. Dip into Spinach Con Queso... ooey goodness. Spicy!!! My daughter had birra tacos...melt in your mouth Birria and the cast iron side of refried beans and rice was so flavorful. I had the burrito bowl...well seasoned carne asada, fresh guacamole, sour cream, cheese, Spanish rice, pinto beans, pico de gallo....so fresh and delicious. I forgot to take a picture of the key lime pie...I am ashamed of myself. Two full pours of frozen margarita laced with your choice of salt or sugar. I've been to Ajo Al's a few times, but this is my first time leaving a Yelp review. They do brunch on weekends from 8:30 am to 11:30 am, though honestly, that feels more like breakfast to me--brunch usually goes till 2 or 3 pm. The food was good, but I think it's a little on the salty side. Their free chips and salsa are awesome, though! Love the vibe here too--tall ceilings and cool decor. Showed up on time, but my takeout order wasn't ready, had to wait 5 minutes or so. It happens, stilled tipped and headed home. Got home and noticed I was missing a few things. I called back and said I'm missing the beans and rice for the fajitas, and the cheese and sour cream for fajitas. Also there wasn't a side for the kids meal. They told me that kids meals don't come with a side, just the quesadilla... also the fajitas don't come with cheese or sour cream, just tortillas, meat. and the onions and peppers..... and they said they would need to double check to see if there was any extra rice and beans in the back, then out me on hold for several minutes... with out any apology they advised I can drive back and get my beans and rice. I drove back and they gave me beans and rice, however I asked for the beans to be separated, and they still just mixed it with the rice. Then I asked for more rice as this rice is mostly mixed with beans, and they charged me $5 for another side of rice...... Good work team. read more

There is an outdoor seating area that is shaded. This is a very popular place. For a Wednesday night they were very busy, but the wait time was short.
