This was my first visit inside Manuel's at this location. The restaurant is quite nice and has a nice setup which makes it almost like you have your own private table. The service is excellent. We were given some chips and salsa and ordered our drinks. The server returned to take our orders and I ordered the carnitas chimichanga and my better half ordered the chicken chimichanga. When our plates came to our table our food was nice and hot. We had munched on some chips and salsa before hand and their salsa is tasty. The chimichangas were delicious and came with rice and beans. The rice was cooked perfectly. Overall we enjoyed our dinners and we will return. Great place to dine out. They have plenty of parking to accommodate their customers. Our favorite place. We enjoy the entire restaurant, the temples, especially the food. But today we went to celebrate a friend's 87th birthday. Rosa was extremely fast, not personable at all. I explained we were celebrating a birthday. When she first approached us. The meal was fine but the service was not one of welcoming or concerns about how/if we were ok. We come here often but been many years since I have left a review. Out of the many meals I have had here I cannoli remember a bad on or even a mediocre one. Their salsa is very good. We have always got good to excellent service. I got their Monday taco, enchiladas special. You get enough food for two meals. They have a bar area with tables and booths. What a fun and delicious place to eat! The senior choice of chimichanga was perfect for a quick bite. And the chips and salsa were so Fresh! I recommend the hot salsa. There was a short wait. But the staff were friendly and I was greeted and seated before you knew it. Even the bar was full. Every one was raving about the margaritas. I'm definitely coming back soon. I don't know how I've never done a review for Manuel's! I've been coming here since I was a kid and honestly forgot about it for a while until recently! Customer service is so friendly, it's clean and the food is consistently great. The lunch specials are good pricing with plenty of food. I've had tacos, chimichanga, burritos, cheese crisps etc over the years. My go to depending on how hungry I am are tacos or chimichanga. I LOVE their salsa and chips and have had awesome experiences with to go orders as well. We will stop in again soon!! read more

Not only was the food amazing, but our server Roselyn was so freaking nice and attentive. She was so personable and funny. She stayed on top of our drinks and made a really good suggestions for food. The Mexican potatoes were amazing. We've been to the Manuel's in Mesa but the food, the environment and people are so much better here. Although it was busy it wasn't too bad and service wasn't slow. Manuel's has been a go-to for years when we want consistent, comfort Mexican food. The margaritas and chips & salsa are the best and all of their staff are super friendly. Last night, however, I had a strange meal...I ordered veggie fajitas expecting a griddle of seared onions and bell peppers. What I got was soggy zucchini, summer squash, and corn (succotash?), like I was at a diner and ordered the side of steamed veggies to go with my meatloaf and mashed potatoes. They said people complained about the peppers and onions...I say those people should order something other than fajitas. Everything else was great, but it was a bummer. read more

Had lunch at Manuel's yesterday. Nice menu, lots of choices. Also nice to have a place not only give you regular salsa for the chips but also provide a spicy one. That salsa also went great on the food. I got a chicken chimi. Came with rice, beans, melted cheese, salad, guacamole and sour cream. Not huge, but just enough so that you did not need a nap when you finished your meal. Chicken in the chimi could have used more spice in cooking as I had to add salt, pepper and the chips hot sauce . I put that salsa on everything, it added a nice zip. A good meal, I can recommend Manuel's for some good food. read more

Food wasn't good, the sauce was from cans it wasn't fresh made, the drinks you have to ask for light ice otherwise it's only ice in your cup. Taco Tuesday! Arrived about 5:30. Parking lot was jammed but no wait list inside. The hostess sat the two of us in the bar area in a small booth. Chips and salsa brought right away. Chips very greasy but fresh and hot. Very thin and since they were greasy we thought it strange the salt didn't stick. Salsa was good but mild variety had a canned tomato aftertaste. Waitress took our drink order. Two sodas. When she came back she took our food order. Our service was wonderful, Carmen I believe was her name. She was friendly and efficient. Food came out pretty quickly but a food runner. A carne asada burrito (just over $19 with rice and beans) for him and the $9.99 taco Tuesday special for me. Two QuesaBirria tacos, ala carte. My tacos were ok. The meat reminded me of beef I'd cook in the crockpot. Consommé very salty. A decent meal for the price. His burrito was packed with tender, flavorful carne asada. It was huge and he only ate about 2/3rds it was so massive. Overall it was an ok dining experience. The food was ok, nothing special, nothing wrong. Service was above average.
