If you order on grubhub please be aware it may take a little longer than expected, and if you call the store you should probably know some spanish bc there is a language barrier. HOWEVER This is the best mexican i've had in fairfield county. It isn't fancy, it's fresh and it's really really good. The prices and portions are super fair. I really cannot stress enough how yummy the food is. The tacos are incredible as is everything else I've tried. I actually can't recommend enough. I don't often write yelp reviews but wow. Food was mediocre! I ordered 3 cemitas which were very dry chicken and pork, all they had was bad dry meat a slice of tomato a bit of cheese and a pinch of avacado! I would not recommend this place at all. A much better place is EL PARAISO in Bridgeport the food is always much testier and the staff friendlier. It's very normal for cemitas to come with a side or 2 of salsa to add but the stupid bitch who attended me said cemitas never come with salsa which I have always gotten in most places including this place a few years ago. read more

Please do not judge but with coronavirus my sleeping habits are all out of wack...I woke up at 7:30am and thought it was 7:30pm and got right up to order food thinking everything was about to close lol!!! To my surprise la Mexicana popped up and I ordered right away at 7:30 in the morning!!! Yes after I placed the order I realized it was am and not pm but I wasn't gonna cancel if they were actually fulfilling the order. This was the best bang for my buck!! I ordered myself this and than ordered my daughter,niece and nephew breakfast at McDonald's and the bill was the same!! Lomo saltado is my go to everywhere, mostly Peruvian style so this style was different. It definitely was more of a tomato flavor not bad but definitely not the regular flavor I'm use to and it was a very thin steak not like a real hearty steak more like shaved beef but kinda thicker. The French fries are the coated ones. I threw them in my air fryer and 3 mins later they were crunchy and delicious. Traditionally the fries are served under the lomo but I had them separately. The beef taco was delicious also I love when a steak taco actually has flavor on the meat. The avocado salad was awesome. The amount of avocado they gave was generous and if u love avocado thats a huge plus!! My bill was less than $20 for all this food!!! Ordered delivery from grubhub. Came early. Food was good would have liked it the meat was a little more seasoned but the meat was really soft and tasty with the sauces. The sauces was a little spicy but very good. Update ordered from here a few more times sadly the delivery time was very bad took more then an hour the 2nd and 3rd time I ordered. Just gross. How can you even mess up a chicken enchilada? Ordered a tongue burrito that was inedible. The tres leches is just cake with strawberry and "whipped cream" and very artificial tasting. Never again. read more

Ordered food from grubhub. Food took a little longer than expected and when we received the food, it was different than what we ordered. Decided to eat it anyways since I didn't want to wait for them to prepare new food and the drive was further than I wanted to go. Overall, the food was excellent and very fresh. It's really criminal this place doesn't have better reviews. I'm disappointed in you, Yelpers--go live a vida more loca and order from this place you've never heard of, you'll love it. So we were craving some Mexican, but our go-to walk-to spot (Hacienda Villa) closed a while back and we weren't into driving in the crappy weather or moving in general, so we found this place with a troubling amount of digging. We had never heard of them and the Yelp reviews are pretty sparse (those here are years old and not very promising), but they offered free delivery and $2.50 tacos so we rolled the dice. Man, am I glad we did. It took a little over an hour for our food to arrive, which was not the best first impression, but I appreciate that they estimated 40-50 minutes so I knew it wouldn't be a speedy pizza situation and I wasn't upset when the food took so long. The delivery guy was apologetic and explained that they got five orders at the same time which I totally get happens and it's cool, but maybe not the best delivery choice if you need to eat an hour ago. And that's the end of any fault I could find with our Mexicana experience. The tacos were oversized, perfectly seasoned, and came with a little taco-bar-to-go with onions, cilantro, limes, and multiple sauces so we could customize them to our precise tastes (especially nice when your family has varied spice tolerances, or if you're a cilantro lover and your husband is one of those genetic weirdos that can't stand it). We also ordered a chimichanga dinner which I think was incredible but is still mostly in my fridge because it ¡friggin gigante! and came with the standard yet better than average rice and beans, and also a house salad with avocado which I thought was pretty fancy for a surprise side. Obviously I can't speak to the in-house dining experience--maybe the service is awful, maybe it's a bad location, maybe the place is actually a well-seasoned dumpster fire, I don't know--but it was a solid five-star delivery experience for me. Terrible service. We ordered food to go and they said it would take 15-20 minutes. I get that they were busy and I normally don't like to complain but I never had such terrible service. People that ordered after us got their food before us and even finished their meal. After almost an hour of waiting we decided to leave. Also the place looks very unsanitary. I have eaten lunch here twice with a good friend of mine. I had the Huraches Carnitas and another time I had the tacos. The food was delicious and the Jamaica drink is now one of my favorites, thanks to my friend Clodomiro for telling me about it. I couldn't finish my meal so took it home and had it for lunch the next day. Big portions and reasonably priced. For dessert we had Tres Leches, which was very good. Very poor service, called in a order for pick up. On arrival, asked if my order was ready, told them what I ordered and they proceeded to look at me like I had three heads. They asked me if I called the right place. So I called and the phone went off in the restaurant. I didn't even receive an apology for them not placing my order.
