My wonderful coworkers surprised me with a dozen beautifully decorated carrot cake cupcakes to surprise me for my (virtual) baby shower. They were decorated with gorgeous pink roses for baby girl and the presentation was only outdone by the delicious flavor. The cake was moist and cream cheese icing not overly sweet. I've been looking for a quality cake maker for years around Fairfield County. I finally found the place. I got a cake for my wife's birthday recently. She went to pastry school and makes great cakes but her birthday is the one event a year when I need to source one that is comparable. I usually have to go to Manhattan to find the one I need. No longer though. This was it. Moist and very, very tasty. She was impressed and that's not easy. Great job and see you next year! read more

I paid 50.00 dollars for a cake for a funeral dinner for my mother's passing. An the cake was awful the fondant was gross the cake tasted nothing like I thought it would. I wish the cake would've tasted better. read more

These were the Most gorgeous cupcakes I have ever seen!! Such works of art it was almost sad to eat them except they were also absolutely delicious too! Sweet Cakes also came through in a pinch when another baker was unable to fill this order - with 24 hours notice they not only made more beautiful cupcakes but charged less for them than expected! Beware terrible experience! You will not get what you ordered. I needed a custom cake for my husband's grandfather's 100th birthday at a local restaurant and after reviewing several websites I decided to isesweet cakes. I initially had trouble reaching the owner because my e-mails and voicemail was ignored but I just figured he/she was busy and decided to try again. After exchanging photos of what I wanted and confirming the size (30 people) I made a payment in full over the phone. I was not able to see the cake in advance and decided to trust the baker. When I arrived to the restaurant I asked the staff where the cake was because it was nowhere in site. I imagined that a cake for 30 people would be huge and I know this because I have ordered many custom cakes before for 25-30 people and they were all very large. When the staff finally showed me where the cake was standing I couldn't believe how tiny it was. I WAS HORRIFIED! I had a room full of people and no cake to spit amongst them. Just to be sure I wasn't over reacting I asked the restaurant owner who had over 20 years of catering and cooking experience how many people she thought the cake was for and without hesitation she replied "maximin 15 people portion". I was beyond upset and I now realized I was cheated and I completely overpaid for the cake (over $200) for a tiny cake!!!!! When I called the bakery off course I was being ignored and my call went to voicemail. It was only when I began to leave a message that I was upset and wanted her to call me immediately that she all of a sudden picked up the phone. I expressed my disappointment very calmly and told her how embarrassed I was in front of my guests and requested a partial refund. Instead of trying to rectify the situation she was very rude, refused to provide any sort of compensation and mocked me for not liking the cake. I told her she was deceitful and the cake was 1/2 the size it was supposed to be and didn't look like the photo i provided. I feel absolutely cheated and the worst part is that the surprise was ruined. We did not have enough cake to give to all the guests and we were all very upset about the outcome. Terrible experience and bad customer service. read more

We've bought three cakes. The first one was a 'How I met your mother' cake, themed for my nephew. It came out amazing, super detailed, with a booth and 5 figures. Second was a birthday themed 'family feud cake', with a figure in my likeness in front it the podium. The third was a cake of the old yankee stadium. Suzette is super creative, friendly, professional and very accommodating. The cakes are well priced and delicious. I would and will recommend Sweet Cakes to everyone. read more

Her cakes are beautifully decorated and taste amazing. I am very particular and I find many bakery cakes taste processed and are firm and stiff. EVERY time a guest tastes her creation they always ask where did I buy the cake. She doesn't advertise because she doesn't have too! read more

These are the most spectacular cakes in both looks and taste. I have ordered a variety of cakes for special occasions, holidays and children's birthdays. Some of the designs she has done for me include a children's first birthday with a teddy bear and a Chanel-inpired cake in pink, black and gold. I have typically provided a design idea and chosen one of the many delicious flavors available. You can select cake flavor, filling and type of frosting. Each time the cake came out spectacular looking--far exceeding my high expectations. More importantly the cakes tasted absolutely delicious. Everyone that tasted them raved about them and thought they were the best tasting cakes ever! Prices are reasonable, even low for the amount of work that goes into them. I cannot say enough good things about Sweet Cakes! read more
