We came in here thinking it was the same michoacana that is located in saviers road we were wrong. This Michoacana falls closer to my house but I will be making the longer trip to the other. Don't get me wrong, this place was delicious and clean but something was off from the moment I asked for some samples. However, they can try to improve their customer service, the girls don't even say "hi" just a cold plain "what do you want" or "who is next". If you're coming here to get Amazing service go to Mastros or stay at a Ritz Carlton, but if you want to be amazed by the flavors and variety you are at the right spot. I have been here plenty of times and it has been THE BOMB! Don't really care about service, employees probably just making minimum wage so as long as they don't mess with my order and charge me the correct amount I'M GOLDEN. I feel like all of menu items are overpriced. Aside from that, the customer service was going well up until I paid. I asked for a paleta and I didn't receive it. When I asked a employee for it again, she assumed she gave it to me when she never did. She turned back and said, "I'll give you another one". It made me feel like she thought I stole it when I of course didn't. Employees should check the cameras before they assume a customer "stole" something. Now I don't normally like to leave reviews for franchises, but I will make an exception for La Michaocana Azteca. Worth making the drive to the south side of Oxnard to get my fix of some delicious freshly made ice cream! They offer a variety of flavored ice cream, popsicles, drinks and snacks (nachos with tasty cheese, tostilocos, etc.). The space is large enough to accommodate almost any size of party, plenty of parking and staff that are attentive to ensure fast service, and a clean facility! This place would be a 5 Star if it wasn't for some of the staff. First time I came the service was really good and the gal who helped take our order was very good at explaining each flavor without even asking...being our first visit . Last night I took my fam along with my mother and sister for some late night ice cream and the girl who helped us was a complete and utter snob. She literally kept rolling her eyes every time we walked over from the iced paletas to the milk ones even tho we ordered the 10 paleta deal. I get it, when you bring a lot of people and everyone has their preference, but don't go rolling your eyes at the people who never been and not even explain the flavors. Wow it's like Italian gelato made in Mexico. Well it's Mexican ice cream. Very clean and it looks and taste fresh. This pace is busy and they are cycling through their inventory quickly meaning the ice is always freshly made. I would of given it a 5 star but the doors were open and flies owning the area. But if they would of had the doors closed and ac cranking or place a wind flow at the doors it would of received the best review. read more

I was yelled at and when I asked what flavors they had, I was answered with a rude stare and an "Are you serious?" Although the dessert is delicious, think they could work the line a little different so that customers can view product rather then line up at the beginning of the treats with no opportunity to see what's on the other side. Would make things quicker if you pushed through the line so that customer can view both menus. Also the overwhelming smell of cheese which can smell vomitous along with the cluster of flies when you walk in can be a bit of a deterrent. OH MY !! I've been craving ice cream but I was honestly tired of Ben and jerrys. I wanted to try something new, and I found this place in yelp. I was reading the reviews and what sold me was the Ferror Roche ice cream I saw on one yelpers photo. As we got there there was a line but wow it was definitely worth the wait. As you get in line, you first see the Agua Frescas , granted we were there around 7 so most of it was gone but that means it is really good! I also saw that they made chocolate covered bananas and any ice cream they dip in chocolate if you ask! I asked if everything was home made the associate proudly said they did! Besides the chips obviously! But I ordered the Oreo, Nutella, and ferror Roche ice cream! The best one was the ferror roche then Nutella! But I loved all the flavors lol. I'll be back! They have terrible customer service, and I can't believe the attitude they gave me! I'm just one person, and I waited silently patient for someone to acknowledge me for five minutes. One worker was just chilling watching tv doing nothing, another was hanging out in the back not doing anything, and the other one was helping a customer, but never even said hi, or called one of the other girls. I asked if she was the only one working, but she didn't answer me. I said hello to the girl working in the back, but she just stared back at me and then walked away to the back again. A big crowd walked in and they weren't helped, either! The three girls working tonight just did not want to their job and they did not care that it cost them a customer. read more

The horchata wasnt that good, and the fruit couldnt beat one of the cart guys that you can find while driving. This is by far the BEST mangoniada I have ever had. They make it out of mango ice cream and it is super rich and has chunks of mango in it. My first bite was a party in my mouth. I got a medium because I usually get a medium mangoniada wherever I go. I could not finish it because it was not watered down. I would probably finish it on a hot day. When I went it was late and cold. I can't wait to go back and try all the different flavors they have. I will probably try the lemon or tamarindo one . They have flavors that are popular in Mexico but hard to find here, like chongos and zapote... I would say that's their only good quality. The variety of flavors they have. Price is a bit too high and the ice cream itself is not that great. When it comes to taste Las Gloria's ice cream tastes way more authentic and it's a whole lot cheaper. read more

In my opinion this WAS the best "La Michoacana" location in the city since there are other similar locations that have opened in the area. However, my last visit was very disappointing due to the staff. I ordered nachos among other things and when I took my first bite they were EXTREMELY salty. I'm usually the amicable customer that doesn't complain over little things but the chips were way too salty no one would be able to eat them. I spoke with "PATTY" who was very rude and gave me attitude when I expressed my concern over the saltiness. She rudely responded "There's nothing I can do. I can't give you your money back" I even told her she could taste the nachos to see I wasn't lying to which of course she declined. I didn't want my money back but at least offering a solution rather than just saying there's nothing I can do or even apologizing left a very bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended lol). A friend of mine told me about this place, coincidentally just after I had read an article on Mexican Ice Cream.* So I headed down to give it a try. I was greeted by a friendly inquiry as to whether I cared to sample flavours. I ordered nachos first, to prevent a sugar coma. They were the basic chips, nacho sauce and jalapeños. So, back up to the counter for ice cream! I had a sample of the piñon and didn't get any further in my tasting, I ordered that. Never would have considered pine nuts as an ice cream flavour, but this was fantastic! It was creamy and the nut flavour was subtle. Kind of like a mellow pistachio. I had the fresa con crema (strawberry and milk) with it. It tasted like homemade ice cream straight out of the churn, I really liked it. But that piñon was so amazing. My friend had actually recommended the paletas (popsicles) so I will have to get one of those when I go back. So many fantastic flavours! *Ice cream varies region to region in any country, but something that makes Mexican Ice Cream different, in general, is the variation in flavour. And it is generally more dense, like gelato. Don't worry, they have the typical flavours as well, but the reward is in trying new ones. read more
