SERVICE WITH A SMILE! BEST SERVICE! Called late night to pick up a birthday cake for my daughter right before closing, the 2 gentlemen that were working were so attentive and kind. They were very helpful in making my selection. They truly provide the best customer experience! They took their time and decorated my daughter's cake & even scooped some ice cream for us. This business has been around at least 45 years (?) is my guess. We grew up in Oxnard and remember it's existence forever. Glad to see it's still open. The building is old, run down. The ice cream is still delicious and refreshing. Great customer service too. They carry all the flavors, fancy cones, toppings and ice cream cakes. I went to baskin robins last night as a treat for my sons bday. I have 2 small kiddos and they were excited for ice cream. We were greeted by Fernando/Fernandez as soon as we came in and he was able to follow my kids across the different tubs of ice cream and offer them samples of the ones they wanted to try. He was patient and offered great samples to help my kiddos try something else other than vanilla or strawberry. Thank you for being so patient, kind, and friendly. Honestly WORST service I've had and I have been coming here since I was a kid. The two individuals behind the counter were throwing things around and yelling out profanities while customers waited to be helped. Ordered two different items, one was done perfectly meanwhile the scoops on the second one were so small that both scoops could have totaled out to maybe one whole scoop, and that's me being generous. Honestly, tonight's experience assured me that I will not return to your establishment. Do not recommend this location, go to another one because Baskin-Robbins is delicious! read more

I am giving one star because I can't give a -1 Star! On Friday night at 9:51 pm I showed up with my family ready to get 3 banana royals and 2 two scoop ice cream cones, however we were turned away because the three people who were working said they were closed. Today I showed up at 9:41 pm to get the same order as this is our usual order, but this time we were told that we couldn't be served banana royals or sundaes because the staff starts putting away the toppings 20 min prior to closing. I asked if this was protocol as I have never encountered this problem before. One of the girls working said yes it is protocol.....LIAR!!!! I called a different location to verify this so called protocol and the employee who answered the phone there said that they would be happy to serve me a banana Royale up until closing time and that the Saviers store location should not be doing that. I am pretty upset due to the fact that both times I have had my kids with me and they get very disappointed when they are told that they cannot have their wild and reckless ice cream (it's their favorite flavor) I hope management talks to whomever is working the night shift because they're losing out on revenue!! read more

They have yummy ice cream. I like it when they have the 39 cent scoops (which happened a few times for certain occasions). It's just in a weird spot. Not to easily noticed and a little small inside, but thats how the old school baskin robbins are. read more

I still go here once in a while because I can't stay away too long from their mocha Blast which I have had some sort of addiction since college years! I can only imagine how this placed looked back in the days. The surrounding businesses probably was a lot more established than it is today. Now it is next to a laundry place and maybe an auto place that looks abandoned. So it is sitting in an awkward location, now that the businesses around are so so. I have even witnessed this baskin robbins (or all baskin robbins) closed down in oxnard for a few years and I thought it wouldn't reopen. But it did and I was happy that their business has picked up again. I did however, imagined a bit of reconstruction. I can only hope the machines were at least replaced. I did see them building something new in their customers area but only to find it torn down again?? I am confused. It is pretty clean looking customers area, but I feel they need to replace the flooring. Everytime I go in there, I wish it was more inviting. It isn't the employees, but inviting as in deco outside, inside, and best of all the smell of ice cream that makes you crave it. I have been to a baskin robbins in korea and the two i went to was just very inviting and smelled like 31 flavors!!! I only wished it was like that here. Their ice cream flavors are okay. I usually like the flavor of the months most of it. But I like to stick to my jamoca almond fudge and mocha blast. One positive thing i noticed with their mocha blasts now is that it always comes with chocolate syrup and cinnamon. Before it was just cinnamon which I am fine with either way, but added syrup makes it better. The cakes are looking better in design. Taste is okay. I just prefer not to have cake and ice cream together because the cake doesn't taste fresh. It's better to order regular cake and then some ice cream. But it is a preference that I have. read more

Here it is Xmas Eve and Basking Robbins has not come thru with the gift certificates they had promised to call me about. I have visited the Ventura stores and the Oxnard stores (all the same owner) 15 times, seriously, 15 times in the last three weeks trying to get a bunch of gift certificates to give to my nieces and nephews for Xmas. The counter help often gives me a dumbfounded "Nope, we ain't got 'em, don't know when we will" type answer, tho I was able to give my name and number (repeatedly) at one store, after being told they will be there on Monday. No call back was given each week. I even spoke to the owner (I suppose it was him) and was given a promise of imminent delivery and a subsequent phone call today. Did I get a call from Baskin Robbins today? Nope! So I called them and they said they are out of Gift Certificates. So now, I have to run around Xmas eve tomorrow and try to find meaningful gifts in the decimated toy aisles of Target and the like. I am not sure if the problem is with the franchise owner, or if it is with corporate and the stone-aged paper certificates they use (Hello? Ever heard of gift cards??? This is 2009! I should be able to buy a BR gift card in the checkout line in a supermarket.), but I do know that a brand that I have had a very positive feelings for for all my 50 years is now sullied by this VERY VERY negative experience. Hmmmm, I bet Ben and Jerry's have gift certificates. Wonderful ice cream there, tho I was looking forward to sharing the 31 Flavors experience with a new generation in my family. Stopped by for a scoop but found it hard to find parking. It's in a pretty weird location and the parking lot pretty much had room for 5 cars.The inside is very small but at least they have a few chairs and tables to sit at. The ice cream wasn't so bad. I came to this place searching for a birthday cake for my sister and was elated with their customer service. I walked in with a warm welcome and the workers were happy to answer all my questions. I bought an ice cream cake and asked Jake to write HAPPY BIRTHDAY UGLY on it and he was more than willing to do so. He helped me out in the end by letting me know about a discount they had when I purchased their free app in the App Store. And the cake was really good!!
