GOM Snow Desserts Oxnard, CA Date went 5/24/26 Went around 4:45pm on a Sunday, it was pretty busy. Almost every table/seat was filled in the establishment Food ordered Mango Bingsu ($13.50) Hot fish filled with cream ($3.95) Food ratings Mango Bingsu; 7/10 + add hot fish with each bite = 7.5/10 The texture of the Japanese snow ice with the mango was great and melted nicely on the tongue. However, I couldn't help but think how much better it would be if some texture was added. So as a result, we added pieces of our hot fish with each bite and it was even better! It turned this 7/10 to 7.5/10. I love that the size small was big enough for two people to share and light on the stomach so we didn't feel heavy after eating it! read more

This is pretty great bingsu! This place is located right across from Gen in the Collection & is very clean and cute inside. The large serving can be split easily with 2-3 people, and tastes delicious. However, it took a while to be prepared, and is a bit pricey for what it is. The strawberry bingsu was super fresh, but it was very runny at the bottom as soon as it was served. Would get again though! read more

The Matcha Bing Su is very misleading. There is Mochi, Red Beans, Almonds, Condensed Milk, and shaved ice. The only matcha part is the tiny bit of powder lining the edge. I understand it is difficult to create the ice shavings with matcha flavor, but they didn't even try to sprinkle matcha over the whole thing. The entire time I was eating it, it was a bean flavor not matcha. It tasted good but putting Matcha label for a product with only 10% of the time tasting like matcha and 90% tasting like beans is not acceptable. read more

Absolutely in love with this place! My Yelp friend Erica G. brought me here and introduced me to a dessert I have never heard of or tried. Bingsu! A Korean shaved ice dessert that I'm obsessed with now. We ordered the strawberry (reg size) and it was a very nice portion. It looked like it would be too much, but it was perfect for two. I honestly didn't think we would finish it, but we did! I couldn't stop eating it. The texture makes it feel like you're eating a cake like dessert, but it's shaved ice. I think it might of had red bean too, but not sure. This place is very clean, and minimalistic. They also offer soft serve fish cones that you can customize. For bevvies, it's shakes, iced energy drinks and hot drinks like sweet corn, hot chocolate, chai and lattes. Overall, I'm so glad I got to try something different. I finally had the opportunity to try GOM Snow Desserts! It is located at the Collection next to Boba Time and European Wax Center. I think this used to the closed location of Devil Angel Desserts. The Korean Bingsu is what draws me here, especially because it's not like Hawaiian-style shaved ice. According to Google, Bingsu is made with a base of milk or milk-based liquid, not just water. This dairy base gives the shaved ice a creamy, less icy texture. I ordered the matcha bingsu ($13.50 for a size small), which comes with the shaved snow, matcha poweder, sweet red beans, mochi, sliced almonds and a cup of condensed milk. There's a brown bear face on a pick that sits on top of the bingsu. My husband ordered the fish cone in a cup ($8.50) in vanilla flavor with the nutella filling and oreo topping. Upon ordering, you're asked if you're dining in or taking it to-go so we opted for dining in. You received a beeper and go up to the counter for pick up. I really enjoyed my bingsu. The size small is shareable and I couldn't finish it all. I was hoping the shaved snow would be made of matcha or more matcha but it was good enough haha. It gets really busy and popular here so seating is kinda limited. There's water all the way in the back if you get thirsty. I would like to come back here for a sweet treat and love knowing they have the shaved snow bingsu here :) read more

I cannot believe I had not been here sooner! The perfect dessert stop for any sweets lover! I had never tried Bingsu and wow oh wow! It simply melts in your mouth. Bingsu is Korean shaved ice and if you have had Mexican shaved ice it is a much softer and richer flavor! There is no other way to describe it than melts in your mouth. I tried the horchata flavored bingsu and it was the perfect cinnamony flavor. They added cinnamon toast crunch on top and vanilla bean ice cream! As a side sauce they pair it with lechera so this was the great mix for my Mexican self! A must try I will say it did not taste like horchata at all but it is just as delicious and creamy. I also had an oreo taiyaki which is all homemade! You can also customize it to your liking but the oreo and nutella was the combination for me! Need a key to use the restroom. Deserts are great although we only had mango Bingsu and oreo island creation and some hot fish. The small serving is shareable which is good because I didn't expect it for the price of 13.50. Staff (3 people) are just talking to each other though, but in a okay way for the most part. Overall it's a great place to get some sweets and chill. read more

What a fun and delicious visit to GOM Snow Desserts! I was visiting Oxnard for work and did a quick search about some hot and new businesses in the area and saw that there is new bingsu place in town. I loved shaved ice and was excited to see what they had to offer. So I made sure I stopped in one of the days. I saw that was supposed to rain so I decided to come in on a day that wasn't too late in the day but also Where I could try some amazing food. I end up getting parking by the movie theater and then walking over and I knew it was located right by Boba Time. There were a couple of families in front of me so I was able to make my decision and luckily there was one table way in the back that's still open so I was able to get my shaved ice to dine in. They were so busy that did take a little bit of time but luckily I had my headphones so I can listen to a podcast to kill some time. My pager went off and I was able to get my order. I went with the mango bingsu and it was amazing. It also came with a small container of condensed milk in a bear shaped container. What a great dessert and I want try some of the menu items next time. A lot of stuff looked amazing so I will have to make sure I stop in the next time I am in town. read more

As an Oxnard native ... I love all things Oxnard and believe it is a city that has so much to do and taste! I am a bit bias when I say ... it is my favorite city in VC with all the vibes ;) We are however in need of more diverse cuisines and spots... it's happening though. It is HAPPENING! So happy we now have GOM! I first had bingsu ( Korean) when I visited my sister in Sacramento and was waiting "patiently" until it got to Oxnard. There's a spot in Ventura I have been going to for years but so nice to have this place 5 mins from me ! I have been stalking this storefront for a few months. Started this Yelp page and when it finally opened, I was there! I got the Strawberry Cheesecake bingsu . It was good. I think I'd prefer the plain Strawberry or Mango more though! There are other opinions but I prefer the fresh fruity ones :) This bingsu comes topped with ice cream which is diff than the other bingsu spots in VC. To be clear, it's NOT the first place to offer bingsu in VC , we have a few. Same with tayaki. This spot is the sister spot to Coastal Cone in Ventura . Which is a local favorite. Cute interior. Clean! They don't just offer bingsu. They have soft serve with ice cream cones or taiyaki, shakes , energy drinks and so much more! Locally and Family owned. Highly rec! First time trying this place. Didnt disappoint everything tasted just like Coastal Cone their sister location. We tried the oreo sundae and custom fish with nutella-yaki, ubechata soft serve and oreo crumbs. Everything was super sweet and melted pretty quickly. I wish they put the icecream in a bigger cup so nothing would be dripping out. If we ever come back, we'd try the bingsu shaved ice next. read more

It's great to see more Asian stores opening around the Oxnard area. GOM is a wonderful place to satisfy your bingsu/taiyaki needs without having to go all the way to LA! This place is located inside the collection. They have ample seating inside to enjoy your dessert fresh. Menu wise, they have so many different dessert choices and flavors. We got the mango bingsu. We really enjoyed it. The mango was not as sour as we thought it was going to be. It was actually the perfect pairing with the sweetness from the condense milk and ice cream. I love how they give you a little bear that has condensed milk inside of it. The only thing about the bingsu was that the shaved ice wasn't as fine as other bingsu places I've been to, but it definitely satisfied my cravings. I'll be back to try other desserts like the taiyaki and ice cream! read more

Bingsu without going all the way to Koreatown, that's what I'm talking about. The milky shave ice was so soft and refreshing. The bites of mango added a nice fruity to balance out the creamy ice. I'm not a big sweets person so even the smaller version is a perfect portion. The aesthetics and taste are a nice addition to the 805, and brings another fun element to the Collection read more

Growing up in the 90's and early 2000's here in the 805 you would have to drive to LA for something like this. I'm glad there are more Asian inspired places finally coming to the area. I don't know what this was called but it was amazing and I'll be picking it up every time I'm in the area. There's also a bunch of other things on the menu that I want to try. The service was extremely nice and the ambiance reminds me of all the Asian dessert places in the 626. read more

Super cute new dessert spot in the Collection with tons of little bear decor everywhere. I loved how they had tons of different options for desserts, ranging from taiyaki to bingsu to soft serve. They have a decent number of tables to sit at, but this place probably isn't the best if you're coming with a big group and want to sit inside. - Strawberry Bingsu: shaved ice or milk(?) was the bed of the dessert, which was topped with strawberries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This wasn't my favorite, as I found the bingsu to be a little lacking in flavor, but I loved the little bear that they included at the top! - Dole whip: a DELICIOUS classic! Loved how cute the container was and how creamy the soft serve was. Would definitely come back for this. Prices were a little on the steep side, but I enjoyed my experience nonetheless. read more

Fish was yummy and crunchy; mine was filled with Nutella. Ube was also delicious and creamy. Price was a bit high; Somi somi sells the same but much cheaper. Unfortunately, we don't have somi somi in Oxnard, so this will do. Service was easy and quick. Ambiance, cute place but not much space inside during the night because everyone is there; it gets busy. So excited Gom is open! Similar to coastal cone vibes yet different, There are cute teddy bears everywhere. I didn't get the binsu but next time I am going to! I saw someone ordered one and got a cute teddy bear jar filled with condensed milk on the side- so adorable. Service was good and quick, they give you a pager and buzz you when ready. read more

I used to drive 2 hours to get taiyaki in Little Tokyo but we finally have it here! It could be cooked a little more but it tastes just about the same as somisomi. Loved the atmosphere and it tasted very good! Will be back to try the shaved ice! read more

This place is so cute! So thankful for more Asian places around Ventura county. We got the Mango bingsu. The ice cream it came with was soooooo good!!! I don't know if it was on purpose, but the mixed sour and sweet mango slices worked well. We asked for extra condensed milk for the middle layer. They gave it in a cute bear bottle! Love the Bingsu! Delicious and perfect for sharing. BUT, the younger employees here don't seem to care about their use of foul language especially around little kids. We came after dinner on a Sunday and my two young kids had an introduction to all the bad words under the sky. I get when your friends visit your work you like to socialize but read the room! I have visited this place numerous times, and it is a great dessert spot! I tried their mango bingsu, strawberry bingsu, cheesecake bingsu, and taiyaki with Nutella filling, all of which were delicious. The place is charming to sit in. However, it is small and gets cramped during busy hours. The portion sizes for the Bingsu are great, but the Taiyaki could be bigger, given the price. Overall, I recommend! read more

First timer trying bingsu! So glad I did. Perfect sweet snow heaven!! I ordered the mango bingsu. Absolutely loved the presentation. Nice fresh sweet chunks of mango. So yum. Cute ambiance, love the super cute bear theme!!!! Friendly and helpful service guided me to the perfect bingsu for me. The smallest size is HUGE I could only finish half so definitely come with an appetite or bring someone to share with :) read more

Whether this was a system error or not, customers deserve a clear explanation when their credit card is involved in an unexpected transaction. The poor customer service and lack of concern left a very negative impression. I would be extremely cautious about using a credit card here in the future.

After a beer at another location, we got the glorious text from Gen saying our table was ready, so we scrambled to get back ~30minutes later. We were seated and were met with Arvin, our incredible server. Since we all have been there, he didnt have to go through the rigamarole of telling us how to our nght would go, so we got to orderin! First off, the menu is HUUUUUUUUGE. There are so many options to choose from and we got so many things. My personal favorites were: Kimchi fried rice w/ Cheese - so flavorful with a little bit of kick (i love the spicy) Corn Cheese - because of course Spicy Pork bulgolgi - Again Spicy Honey spicy bulgolgi - This surprised me at how much i liked this. So good They even serve my favorite sake here (Kikusui) which was excellent! Great night over at Gen! Arvin, our server was amaxing, gave us lots of recommendations and treated us really well. The galbi marinade also felt a little off this time, slightly too sweet and missing that smoky charred flavor. That said, the service was above average and surprisingly quick despite how busy it was. Honestly, one of the main reasons I still come here is because there aren't many KBBQ options in Ventura County unless you're willing to drive out farther.

I'd love to see some occasional specials or slight price adjustments to make it more accessible. That said, I keep coming back anyway. The Garlic Truffle Ramen is just that good. For me, it's worth working around the tight space every single time.

The miso must be traditional as that is what we have always been served at other Teppanese restaurants. Next is a little green salad with the house dressing. I swear the miso soup and the house salad seem to be the same in every Teppanese restaurant. Then the show begins. We all chose the upgrade to fried rice then the grilled vegetables each entre comes with three grilled shrimp. It's an appetizer. Always keep in mind with Teppanese they grill and put these things on your plate one at a time. Do not wait for everything to be cooked before starting or the rice and the vegetables are going to be cold by the time you get your protein. The maple bourbon crème brûlée, the butter cake and their house-made Keylime pie. There were three of us eating and we all tried these options. We had two thumbs up on the crème brûlée, one thumb up on the butter cake and no thumbs up on the Keylime pie. The Keylime pie was similar in our mind to a cheesecake (huge piece, super creamy but it's not what we were used to. The crème brûlée was delicious, but we didn't get much maple bourbon flavor. The butter cake tasted and felt like a cake doughnut, delicious but not what we expected. We also enjoyed the maple carrots side dish, it was fantastic! All in all the dinner was successful and again thank you Larsen's for serving us all on Christmas instead of you being home with your families. It is truly appreciated!!!

A large white board was the menu. Lots of options to pick from. However with the variety we ordered the food was just ok with the grilled snapper and fries being the stand outs. The fried fish seemed a bit too oily, the tempura batter too thick on the vegetables and the clam chowder needed more flavor. Given the years in business, I was hoping for more from the food.
