Sometimes it depends who is ringing up the prices because at first My bill came to 32 cash just On a Mexican corn and Paletas the second time that we had more items in the menu plus more pop circles and a Doritos loco I paid 26 I think the prices are just made up with the individual that charges. Just tried this icecream stop for the first time and I was super impressed! The flavors of the icecream are phenomenal! It was hard to choose only one, so I tried three and they did not disappoint! Even in the middle of the day there was a steady stream of customers in and out, so I was actually relieved to find a place to sit. They also have outdoor seating if you prefer. Ice cream is always good but the Doritos locos were not the best and the elotes taste like they used canned corn. 3 other Mexican restaurants also used canned corn and I hate this trend. I had yelped to see more photos of other La Michocana ice cream places in Albany Park and Algonquin, IL and they had Doritos Locos that looked different. Try the mango mangoneadas! Its sweet with a hint of spicy. This place is pretty nice for some Mexican deserts and has lots of variety. They make a lot of their ice cream on site and use fresh ingredients. It really shows in the taste! They have ice cream, sorbet, popsicles and make different desserts from those things as well. Prices are fair and the inside is clean. It's located a bit out of the way, in a big field, but at least it has a parking lot, not really adjacent to anything. But that doesn't bother me. Sometimes service can be a bit slow, especially for paying while holding your ice cream. No frills decor and the tables inside are not very comfortable or conducive for a group. I appreciate the outdoor seating. Could even use more of that. Plenty of parking! read more

This place is amazing. They have SO MANY paletas, and the staff is always a so nice answering questions. The ice cream is also incredible. Try the choco flan! I wish there was more indoor seating for the winter, so you may have to eat in your car during super busy hours, but it is so worth it! read more

Bad customer service. This place just didn't give me a friendly, wholesome Mexican atmosphere an original "La Michoacana" would give. The staff didn't greet me upon walking in and looked confused when I placed my order. I ordered a bag of duros (round fried pork rings) prepared with all it's trimmings (cueros, sour cream, etc). When I asked for lime and salsa the guy behind the counter rudely said I could grab it myself. I was overcharged for a full bag of duros and was only given 3/4 of the bag. I didn't see a wide variety of aguas ( flavored waters) or ice cream like some of the reviews say. I also ordered ice cream which they did give me a nice portion of. I've always wanted to stop by this place, but heard it was overpriced. I finally went and was disappointed, but not because of the price but because of the service. Plus all the tables were sticky and dirty. Good luck if you go, hope it gets better! read more
