I went in this month for a cake. My mom kept insisting that their cakes were good, blah blah blah. I finally made the drive across the bridge to go, and the ladies there have a vibe that they don't even wanna help you. My mom, being the little nice and oblivious lady she is, ordered the cake. We showed "Giri" what the cake we wanted look like, she waved it off as an easy design and assured us the cake wouldn't be soaking in milk. Okay, great. We ordered it, and I gotta give a $55 deposit. Okay, I guess it's kinda understandable, but then I get extra charges for having 3 leches, getting a whole sheet, and choosing the strawberry filling. The following week, I went to actually buy pan dulce, and tbh, the little cake with butter and sprinkles was freaking delicious, and expected my cake to be just like it. I also had remembered that I didn't even ask them to put the name. So I did. They wrote and DREW on their copy of the receipt the instructions of where the lettering was supposed to go. Extra charge. The day BEFORE the party, I am stressed as f**k. I drive all the way to VJ, get there, and the cake isn't even ready. They have me wait 25 minutes for them to get the cake, because they're instructing a new counter girl on how to do it. I get the cake, and it has the lettering in the wrong place. It goes completely over my head. I pay for the rest of the it, and I take the cake home. I get home, milk from the cake dripping all over the box. I call that same night because my mom is all over my ass over the lettering. They tell me to call tomorrow morning and take it up with the baker. Are you serious??? I call the baker at 7am, and she is insisting that everything is completely my fault and she won't consider even fixing the mistake or refunding me not even a small bit of my money back after I am willing to bring the entire cake back to Vallejo to fix it. THE CAKE DIDNT EVEN HAVE ANY STRAWBERRY IN IT, STRAIGHT UP FROSTING. So thanks for those extra charges! :))) Don't waste your time with them. Just buy the ice cream, display cakes and bread. A gem in Vallejo! Came here with the family for dessert on a Friday night and had no issues finding parking (although I can imagine it being difficult during the day/when it's busy in the area). We got a Strawberry Kiwi Paleta and for ice cream we got Nutella, Cookies 'N Cream and Mango (single scoop, but the portions were generous). So delicious and refreshing! The ice cream was very consistent and creamy! The paleta was light and you could really taste the natural/fresh fruit flavors from the strawberry to the kiwi slices inside. Even better is that it's very affordable... even for a family (altogether it was just over $7)! Although the woman kept asking if we were ready to order she never really made us feel comfortable for not knowing what we wanted and never offered up any suggestions. All we had to go from was a big picture of different items near the front door but again, there were no ingredients listed to go along with the pictures. So we decided on a scoop of ice cream if that's what you call it. I got the mango flavor which felt icy and too sugar forward. My wife opted for the Guava which was very similar in texture except for the Guava seeds that I found to be annoying. If I could give them 0 stars I would. They completely messed up a cake I ordered. After returning the cake with the receipt stating that what I got was wrong the owner asked to leave the cake and I would get a call back, I received a call back saying that they got confused and they don't do what I ordered so instead of calling me and asking they made whatever they wanted and she wanted to refund me $14 dollars. In this other occasion it was another women about 5'5 Colored eyes anyway, I'm ready to check out and she helps us not a hello not a nothing just the total of $25.00 and so I proceeded to pay and my card Gets decline she then gives me this uncomfortable look and I said I'll like to try again and she said " just run it" in a smart tone I wasn't sure why my card wasn't going though There was money in my account luckily I had my other card and made the payment with it by the end of the transaction there was not a thank you there was just " you want your receipt" didn't bothered to hand me the bag of pastries since there was another person blocking my reach. She basically made me feel unwelcome and as if I was unworthy customer because my card got decline. I called my bank and Wellsfargo had blocked my card because there was someone in Florida trying to purchase with my card somehow whomever got a hold of my card number. I've dealt with customers who's card had been decline and never did I ever made anyone feel uncomfortable as this woman did to me if anything I actually gladly paid for their groceries myself and ask them to pay me back next time they were in the store or I would say in a low tone " would you like to try your card again" or " try calling your bank to make sure no one has gain access to it" 10 years working at wholefoods and not one person left feeling the way I did. Shoutout to the boo, Rachel C. for showing me my new favorite local ice cream shop in Vallejo! Already been here five times within the last couple months and with the summer coming up, it's going to get super busy. It's located in a residential area in a nice semi corner spot. I love how it's super close to where I live although parking is always hard to find. There's usually only a couple street parking spots available IF you're lucky. There's a mini bar lounge area next door to the shop so it's always pretty packed. When you walk into the shop, you'll notice welcoming vibrant and colorful paintings on the wall. They have a huge selection of ice cream flavors. I usually get the strawberry and cream or cookies and cream paleta which basically is a partially frozen popsicle stick with fresh ingredients. They offer shakes, cakes and even pastries. And for the people who are lactose intolerant, they have a nice selection of non dairy popsicle sticks along with gluten free flavors. The staff is very welcoming, kind and are able to answer any questions about the different flavors they offer. The cost of their ice cream is reasonably priced in my opinion considering them being made in house. Overall, do I recommend this ice cream spot? Answer: hellls yes! #roadtoelite read more

A one-stop-shop! Helped by Allondra- she is very nice, patient and always serve customers with a smile in her face! They are all nice here! A family atmosphere! Bought torta- for the first time- and she recommended the torta loca but I said that's for next time, since I just want a simple asada torta. So I got the asada regular- no jalapenos, no beans, grilled onions. I asked for a sauce if they have any and she sold me this very spicy, creamy orangey sauce for like a $1! Oh boy, it was so good! It makes the torta more spicier and woke up the already flavorful, fresh torta! Sure thing, I also had cappucino ice cream in a cone, strawberry and cream paleta, guayabano, too, Paraiso smoothie, cheese cake, pineapple roll, and so much more! I loved the Popsicles of pistachio, and arroz con leche. They were pretty awesome! The slight graininess of the rice in the arroz con leche pop might not be for everyone but it definitely worked for me. I loved the straight up nutty pistachio flavour in the other, as well as the coarse bits of nuts embedded in it. They also had a bakery section and we sampled the cakes and the bun with jalapeno-cream cheese stuffings. That was pretty fantastic too. The bun was lightly sweet and paired really well with the heat of the jalapenos (they were surprisingly hot, hotter than I expected) and the creamy tanginess of the cream cheese. The cakes too were delicious but I can't particularly recollect much about them now. Would I go back? Aw heck yea !!! ~~~~~~~~~~ And go back I did! Twice more since the first review. I've since had the Walnut (awesome) and the Fresca Dulche Strawberry. I loved both of them. The walnut was buttery and the strawberry, refreshingly fresh and still a little creamy, though not as creamy as the "fresca crema strawberry" which is practically strawberry and cream in popsicle form. The only (slight) disappointment was the plum popsicle. I am glad I had only a bite of it, and didn't order it for myself -- I would remember to avoid that in the future. Up next in my crossfire are the coco coconut, the pistachio, and the strawberry and cream, in that order. I have seen people post pictures of the coconut popsicle dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with nuts. That looks simply amazing. I am also intent on sinking my fangs on the oreo and milk pops. They didn't have fresh mango, so I got the mango ice cream with chimoy and the straw. The fresa con crema paleta I got was really good. I called this right, it is a hidden Gem. Located on Broadway, a half block across the street from La Tapatia Market. They have fresh homemade pasteries that I have to come back for. My mission today was a Mangonada and this was the closest one to me. I was very disappointed to discover this wasn't a true mangonada. It's a mango popsicle / Paleta that is in a plastic cup that they add Chemoy and Tajin (chile lime seasoning). It's really messy and gave me a lap and chest that looked like I didn't make it through Halloween. The Mango was delish however. I would recommend a way of freezing the Chamoy, Tajin and the Mango together (they have this at Mi Pueblo). I tried the pineapple paleta that my daughter had and it was the VERY BEST PINEAPPLE flavor, EVER! I bought a coconut paleta for my husband, who is crazy about coconut and all he said was, " AWESOME, AMAZING." They also had a very cute Dios De Los Muertos display which I wish I had taken the time to photograph. They also make Tortas and sandwiches. I had been going to this establishment for quite a few years. In the recent years, I have noticed the staff being dismissive of me when i went to order and pay. My wife and I made a trip there this week to order a few tortas for lunch. My wife ordered at the counter when we first walked in. A few seconds later I went over to the cash register to pay. My first impression as we pulled next to the shop was that it was in a sketchy part of town. Outside was hot and eerily empty besides a few questionable looking walkers. Once inside the shop I was shocked at how they could keep the ice cream from melting when the shop itself was so hot. The shop was quite empty. The walls were brightly colored and I noted that they also sold a variety of breads. The lady behind the counter was very friendly. I enjoyed the ice cream with kiwis in it.
