    Half a chocolate croissant. :)

Incredible pastries. Friendly service. This is half a chocolate croissant. I woke up as i was eating it. Very tasty.

Breakfast croissant got a thumbs up

The food was amazing! I had the meat scramble and my son had a breakfast sandwich. We both had leftovers (so took half home) and agreed that we would come back and probably share next time. The service was prompt and the gentleman at the counter was kind and friendly. The atmosphere seemed good - it was quiet (we were there mid morning) and the decor was neat.

This is the new pizza they have. Old crust is gone. One of the main reasons I liked the other pizza was the crust. This cracker like "flatbread" does not come even close. Not buying pizza there again.

Great place for coffee and breakfast (I assume great for lunch too). Egg white salmon omelette, awesome coffee. It is in the sky-walk, so 2nd floor of this building. Easy to get to from the Marriott if you just follow the skywalk around. This was $14. Worth it.

Egg white omelette with spinach and avocado. Something nice and simple that you can't go wrong with.

Smoked Salmon sandwich. Tried not to drool on it while I took the picture.

I had previously only eaten the exquisite pecan-encrusted cinnamon rolls at La Mie Elevate. I try and avoid La Mie Elevate, because those tasty little (huge, actually) pastries are both addictive and delicious. It doesn't help that La Mie Elevate is on the skywalk level of Two Ruan, where my office resides. On Wednesday however, I wanted lunch, and I wasn't in the mood for the skywalk-oriented food courts. So, I decided to check out the lunch options at La Mie Elevate. I was very surprised to see how affordable many of the options were. They have quite a few salads, soups, and sandwiches available. I listened to the soups of the day, and they were not what I wanted. The salads also didn't really meet my requirements either. The sandwiches however, were a different story entirely. I saw a Smoked Salmon sandwich. I was intrigued. Upon further perusal, it was clear that this was basically the equivalent of a lox bagel, only on bread. I was sold. For just under $7, it was pretty hard to argue with. They often have rows of the sandwiches pre-made, but they were out of the Smoked Salmon, so they had to make me one fresh. No complaints from me on that one. I had my sandwich within a few minutes and went back up to my desk on the 14th floor. I opened my sandwich, and immediately began drooling. The sandwich was huge. There was a LOT of smoked salmon, a bunch of capers, a pile of onions, a few slices of tomato, and a healthy dollop of cream cheese on the bottom. Oh my. The first bite was wonderful. The fresh bread was soft, the smoked salmon meaty and delicious, the capers nice and salty, and the cream cheese rounded everything out. It was a damn near perfect bite, as were all the subsequent bites. It took me all of about four minutes to devour the entire thing. It was phenomenal. I like getting the smoked salmon bagels from Bruegger's, but this was some next level smoked salmon action. The amount of food you get here for the money paid, and the quality of that food, is quite impressive. I now have a new option for my lunch hour, I just have to make sure to avoid La Mie Elevate during breakfast, so I am not seduced by the Pecan encrusted cinnamon rolls. *wipes away drool*

This location is bigger and better than the other location downtown! There are many pastries laid out on the counter to tempt you as you wait in line to order. I want to try it all! The staff is always very helpful which is great because they can get pretty busy. I usually go early or after the lunch hour. Theres more dining space at this location. They still have the made and ready to go foods too. Ive tried the snoked salmon sandwich and salmon & wild rice. Both turned out great. I also had the nouget and a deliscious blueberry pastry. I will definitely be a regular here!

Surprise & delight to find this place. Delish! Had the avocado tartine & cold brew coffee. Both were top quality.

We saw there were a few table so we decided to try it with the intention to be quick. Boy am I glad we did! Started with the sunrise juice, a carrot juice blend and the homemade strawberry lemonade both were so fresh and delicious. We tried the brown sugar and cinnamon pop tart and that was heaven in my mouth. So much flavor and goodness. I ordered the limoncello French toast and it is a slice of fresh baked lemon bread made into French toast. The flavors were rich and the texture was fluffy. A must try while it's in season. Others got the turkey and avocado Benedict and the pancakes with eggs and bacon. All cooked to perfection. Our server Jess was so nice and we did tip her well for being so last minute, but to our credit we were out of there at 6 mins after closing while everyone was still working to close up. I try to not show up late but this one was so worth it!!

Service is usually stellar and the location is fairly convenient with lots of parking (in the back too!) My only complaint is that my friend I go to the restaurant with who is in a wheelchair due to mobility issues has to park in back and roll all the way around the building. Its fine on a nice day, but sucks if its extra warm or super cold. I know this isnt the fault of the restaurant, but the building owners . The ambiqnce is fine, if its busy it get a little louder than I'd like. Maybe some strategically placed sound dampening tiles? I get the industrial look, but with the concrete floors, its a bit of an echo chandler when itw busy.

Since we were…read morealready planning an evening meal in Omaha at the end of the day it made sense to start out with a breakfast in Des Moines. based on reviews in Yelp we chose Mullets. Mostly because it sounded really cool to see the pictures of mullets that decorate the restaurant. I didn't think of the fish called a mullet, but they have creatively used both the Fish and the hairstyle to create a fun logo. I loved the poster of all of the presidents of the United States wearing mullets that was in the entry vestibule. My husband had the Burt Ends Benedict. It was delicious, with generous sized chunks of meat in BBQ sauce under the poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. I had the Country Fried Steak breakfast with hash browns and hard scrambled eggs. Everything on my plate was perfect and delicious. The gravy was outstanding! Probably the best restaurant gravy I've ever had. On my next visit I'm planning to order the same thing, but I'll request gravy on the eggs and potatoes as well. We shared an order of cinnamon roll pancakes. They were delicious, and super sweet. Overall, the staff was friendly and efficient and we will definitely be back.

I was less excited when the burrito came and the waitress said "I have a... sad burrito.. sorry" It was small, had no seasoning, and didn't come with a side because the burrito that comes with meat is big enough to not need one but the veggie one is super small, barley making it a meal. I was so hungry that I ate it and didn't want to make a big deal about it to the waitress that was doing her best. My friends got fun waffles and scrambles but I was looking for something with no meat and protein. Overall, it could have been a better made burrito, either with ingredients or with a side.

Jennifer waited on me and was a joy to speak to and offered great recommendations on the whole menu (bottom line, sounds like you can't go wrong). Everything just seemed to take longer than necessary. We stood at the front maybe 10 minutes before anyone came to seat us and food took even longer, around 25 minutes (figuring out our order maybe took ten). I parked the meter for an hour and had to go refill. I ordered the Grilled Harvest Chicken. There is a creamy tomato pasta used to coat the chicken breasts. The cuts were good overall. This dish also includes two sides. I got the fried okra and goat cheese grits. Fried okra was good, around thirty percent breading that makes a nice savory balance. The grits were creamy and smooth. I think I would come again if I was looking for heavy southern. There were a lot of classic options to choose from that I could not try this time around. Though I would still be concerned with the wait involved.

As has been the case on each of our visits, the food and atmosphere were off the charts. The service wasn't quite as prompt this morning as what I've become accustomed to, but the experience was still great. Best of all...I saw that they now have a daily Happy ("Flocktail") Hour everyday before they close - and it is a 50% Off special - so now I can add them to HappyHourDesMoines.com also!! Today, my wife ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and a Bloody Mary (see pictures) - and with all of the new items on the menu, our friend ordered the Smoked Corn Beef Hash (see picture) and I went with the Healthy Hatch Tacos (see picture). I swapped one of my tacos with our friend for 1/2 of his hash, sampled my wife's Chicken Fried Steak - and can assure you that you will NOT go wrong ordering any of them, as all were absolutely delicious!
