I called yesterday, Monday, and tried to schedule a pedicure for Wednesday. She asked if I could please come on Tuesday. I said fine how about 10 AM on Tuesday, because their hours are 10 to 7. She said can you come at 11. I said fine. I have completely accommodated this person. She asked if I was a new client and I said I was. Now it's 11:10 AM and she is a no-show. Dental Excellence truly lives up to its name... it's excellent! Dr. Potdar is a very detailed and thorough dentist. He takes the time to explain what we'll be doing each time and answer any questions. He always adds value to each appointment by bringing up the latest and greatest things on the market (ie. toothbrush, floss, toothpaste etc.) It takes alot for me to put trust into a dentist, and Dr. Potdar has earned it! read more

Terrible. I took my daughter there to get her nails done and they look terrible. She asked for a square nail and a simple French tip, however the woman said she wasn't able to do that. The nails are misshaped and the worker put on chrome without even asking. The chrome turned out blotchy. The woman added diamonds onto her nails and even the diamond wasn't centered! Overall a terrible experience and will never go back nor will I be recommending this place to anyone. read more

I'm sorry to say this was a pretty bad experience. I was the only customer and was greeted by a friendly staff. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I had gel color on my toes and fingers. I asked for a gel mani and gel pedi. The lady working on my toes had absolutely no idea how to remove gel, so after THIRTY MINUTES of wrapping my toes in one big piece of foil and filing and picking off the gel, my toes were finally gel free. She took sooooooo long that I said to forget applying new color, just give me a pedicure. She did such an awful job that one foot had cut, short nails, but this other was barely touched! When I got home, I had to give myself a pedicure! She didn't file nails, she HARDLY did any cuticle work at al. A complete waste of money. I have never had such a useless service before. She literally accomplished absolutely nothing. As for my fingers, they're better than the toes but not by my by much. The other lady working on my fingers successfully removed my polish but when she worked on my cuticles, she did it DRY. No cuticle remover at all. Just dabs of water. Ugh. My cuticles look a mess and the polish looks messy because it gathered along the ridge of the uncut cuticles. (And one on fiber, the color is already lifting off. After three days!) It's such a hack job that now three days later, I'm going to go find another salon, a REAL salon, where nail techs are properly trained, efficient, and great at their job. I really, really wanted to give my money to a local place since I live in the area but, I cannot return here. It was a waste of time, money and honestly, it felt like they were "playing salon" (like playing house, i.e. faking it) because no one had any real skill. read more

I got acrylics here and I'm sorry to say they turned out terribly. The staff was very nice but the result was not good!! I asked for a simple design like the one below, and what I received was very messy. The colors all bled together and the edges of the nail polish were not clean at all. The shape and filing of the nails are very nice, but the actual design sucks, thus the two stars. I'm not sure if it's because the lady was in a rush, although I did call ahead and they told me to come in at 3:45. I ended up paying $45 dollars for what I originally thought would be $35, because they tacked on a design fee. Frankly, I don't think these are worth $45 at all. Very disappointed and *if* I ever come again I will not be getting a design. Edit: It's been two days. Two of my nails snapped off... Last time I got acrylics in a place in campbell and they lasted 2 MONTHS. read more

I popped into this salon on a Tues afternoon. I was in the area for a business conference. The salon is located on the side of the building that faces Santa Cruz Ave. It took me a moment to locate it. It is clean and open. Very good lighting and all their massage chairs are clean and in good shape. My technician was nice and did a good job with my pedicure and gel manicure. They did not offer any upselling or anything that I did not already ask for. The only reason I held back on 5 stars was I chose a gel color off their display nails and matched my toe color. When she went to do my nails (after my ties were done) they could not locate the color I chose for my nails. So I ended up with mismatched nails and toes. Not a huge deal but had they looked for the color I chose before starting my service this could have been avoided. read more

I will not support this business again, they take advantage of those of us who keep returning and don't respect the loyal customer's time. I called and got an appointment and when I arrived (5 minutes early) there were 2 ladies working on 2 clients. One client had just started the pedicure and the other one was about to start polish on her toes. I'm thinking once her nail polish is done it's probably my turn. About 12-13 minutes goes by she was done, client walked to the other table to now get a manicure and that employee was going to start her manicure. Meanwhile the other pedicure had just started the massage. I was confused as this meant I had to wait at least another 20 minutes before any of them could take me. I brought up the fact that I had an appointment at 3 pm and need to be somewhere else at 4 pm. They just said sorry, we are short staffed today. I pointed out that I had called and made the appointment only 2 hour earlier, I'm sure they were short staffed at the time they took my appointment and regardless, there's a book in front of them to know if they can or can't take clients. What ticked me off the most is the client wanting to get her manicure done graciously said she's not in a hurry and her house is 5 minute walking distance, they can do my pedicure and she will come back to get her manicure. She was a walk in client that they took knowing I was coming in at 3 and now I had to wait 30-40 minutes to get my pedi done. Then the manicurist tells her no it's OK, let's finish your nails first and very rudely told me "we can't do anything right now, as You can see there's only 2 ppl working and we are both with clients." Both the other client and I looked at each other, puzzled by her response. She repeated herself that she will come back and the employee insisted that no she should stay and I can wait!!! I told them what they just did is unacceptable and I was very upset that they wasted my time especially when they KNOW I live 40 miles away and it's a trip for me to visit them. They didn't even have the curtesy to call me to let me know they are busy and ask me if I was OK to push back my appoint before I drove all the way there. VERY Unprofessional and bad service! Total sweat shop way of handling clients!!! read more

I'd been a customer on and off for a few years; initially I'd shied away due to cleanliness then heard it was better and came back for a about 2 years. One day I was not able to keep my appointment time (1st time ever) I called in and the manicurist was quite happy to reschedule for a later time. I arrived 10 min early and saw my manicurist just beginning with another client. I tried to talk to her, tell her I was there but she would not respond or make eye contact. It was really weird. At 1st I didn't realize that the owner was speaking to her in Vietnamese and must have been directing the poor girl to not acknowledge me. The owner was VERY rude and finally informed me I could wait for about an hour and probably be taken after the girl had finished up with other clients. I drove from across town and they had my cell #. It reminded me of the Sienfeld episode with Elaine. I left and have never gone back. read more

I've been coming here for about 6 years. They're always very accommodating with schedules. They're also all very super friendly and for once, I don't mind actually chatting. Today I went in to get my usual mani/pedi, but since I am going to Great America's Haunt Fest for my fiance's birthday, I decided to get black on my fingers. I was offered a design since I was doing the black and Tammy did a fantastic job! She did black nail polish on all of my fingers except for my right thumb. My right thumb is white nail polish with a very detailed spider, while the left thumb has a white spider web with specks of silver. I am very very happy with this design and felt compelled to finally do a review for the place. I highly recommend this place, I do acknowledge that every place has their bad days, but you should give this place a second chance. read more

Went to this salon for the first time and was very disappointed when I left. I sat down in the pedicure chair and before I even had time to notice the nail lady had completely cut the nail of my big toe. I couldn't believe it because usually a good nail salon will ask if you want you nails cut or filed and shaped. She ended up cutting all of my toe nails me my nails are SUPER short now :( so sad. Also, the tubs were not lined with sanitary liners and the salon was very dated and dirty. I ended up canceling my manicure after my pedicure because I was so worried they would do the same thing to my manicure. read more

Salon is always clean and staff friendly. Since it's a smaller salon it is quiet and relaxing which I really appreciate. I have been going to La Mode for 20 years and have had mostly great experiences. In particular, I really like Ivy. When I had one bad experience (new technician cut my nails way way too short after I asked her to only file) Pam was very apologetic. I read the review from the one person about their disregard for your time. I have had this experience only once but they were trying to rectify the issue. The place is VERY clean, affordable, friendly and comfortable (love the pedi chairs). I like to go on Sunday when it is really quiet and I drag my boyfriend along. He has grown to really like the pedis (he never had one before) and he likes how they take care of his nails. When we met, he swore he would NEVER get his nails done but after going to La Mode on a Sunday when fewer people are there, he really enjoys it and feels comfortable there. The two starts are for the pedicures, which are very good. I was there 3 days ago for a gel mani and a spa pedicure. The owner did the gel manicure. It looked good when I left, but within 24 hours, the tips began to chip and as of today, I will need to get it re-done. I usually go in Willow Glen, and I will go back there and spend $25 to have it done correctly. I thought her light bulbs in her UV curing light did not seem strong enough and I thought the bulbs were wearing out. That might have been the problem. Disappointing to say the least. I will stick with pedicures there if I have to go. read more

While the shop isn't fancy, it's clean and tidy. Their prices are certainly reasonable considering they're in Los Gatos, the mark-up capitol of the South Bay. This is a no frills kind of place. The mani/pedi is a good deal for Los Gatos, but if you are going just for a pedi expect to shell out $25+tip. The decor is very old and could use a little extreme make over to. Overall, if you need a quick pedicure then this place is good and clean.
