Great Pre-Wedding Nail Party! We recently had a pre-wedding nail party for the bridal party of my daughter's wedding at Annabelle's in Los Gatos. The owner was friendly and helpful beforehand and during the experience. It was at lunchtime and we were able to have food trays from neighboring Nob Hill and drinks right in the room. They were able to accommodate more than 10 people in a 2-hour period, did repairs as needed, and all our nails looked gorgeous! All their nail specialists are experienced and are artists. Extremely overpriced!! Had gone in for a few pedicures which were fine, and paid the high price just for the convenience of proximity to where I live and them having lots of open time slots. However, got a manicure for the first time from them (gel acrylic fill with plain white) and it took her 2+ hours until I told her I had to leave because it was getting ridiculous. Don't know what shape she made but they looked like a weird upside triangle and chipped in 3 days. Save your money and find someplace else read more

I have been coming to Annabelle Salon for several years - owned by the wonderful Kristi and staffed by professionals for nails, hair and waxing. I went to Joanne this week for a full lower body waxing (my first!) and she did a wonderful job. Making an awkward situation completely comfortable. I will definitely return for bikini, brazilian, leg, eyebrow or whatever I need! I have always had good luck for nails with any of the technicians both gel and regular. First time going here which I was very excited based on the pics and reviews. I paid $$$ for a very quick and not relaxing pedicure. To get a relaxing pedicure you'll need to pay even more...close to $80. They kept trying to push other services on me when I repeatedly told them no. I don't need callus treatment if I don't have calluses. I also tried to communicate the color being put on my toes did not match the color I picked out but they continued painting and I'm not too thrilled with the color. If you want to just get in and out then this is the place for you. I did however love the aesthetic of the salon. Very clean. The service just didn't match the atmosphere. Might try this place one more time just to see if it was an off occurrence. read more

Personable staff and decent service but I got a dip manicure and it chipped 3 days later and chipped even worse a week later. I've consistently gotten a dip manicure at another salon and it always lasts 2-3 weeks in perfect condition and it's $15 cheaper. This is absolute crap. My request was simple, I needed my acrylics off. The manicurist kept soaking my nails in acetone after I told her many times acetone won't remove acrylic. I have had my acrylic nails for one week and every single one of them is lifting around my cuticles. They were $90 which is more than I have paid anywhere else. So I expected them to be great. I wanted to like this place. The ambience is nice, the lady at the front desk was really nice too but then after getting my nails done, I won't be going back. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and I thought it was easy enough but they're jacked up. I never get anything special but after 2 years I thought why not, bad choice. Her foot/calf massage was phenomenal soothing my poor tired feet, and I was really able to relax. They have massage chairs, and tons of color too choose from. The first few times I came here, the service was great. Excellent pedicure, good manicure. Then it quickly went downhill. The 2nd to last time I came, the nail tech was visibly irritated- she kept twisting my hand and fingers around and getting frustrated.. no idea why. I've gotten a million manicures and typically sit still to make it easy on the tech. The manicure turned out lob-sided, uneven. The last time I came, the (different) nail tech dug so deep with the dermal tool that I had severe indentations in all my nails. It was so bad my nails cracked. Super relaxing atmosphere. Music was kind of like "elevator music" and the pedicure chairs are nicely spaced out with walls between some of them, so you're not just in a single row of chairs. It would be a nice and intimate place to get your nails done with a friend or your SO! Cindy was really nice and helped me pick out a color for my toes - bubblegum pink! Gel pedicure came out perfect and didn't take too long either. I really love this salon. I've been to more salons than I care to count and I've found great ones and not so great. The ladies here are so polite and careful. They will keep a conversation with you but will also let you just sit back and relax if that's what you prefer. Their polish selection is fantastic, though sometimes you do have to ask for the shellac color options. What prompted me to write this review now after going here for a few years was my last visit. I get shellac on my nail because if I don't I'll mess up every nail by the time I walk to my car. I'm serious; it's a talent. Usually I don't have a problem with my toes, though. However, this time was the exception. I noticed later in the evening that I somehow smudged the polish on one of my toes. I called in and asked if I could stop by the next afternoon to have it fixed. Of course I was fit right in. I sheepishly walked in and was helped right away. Just a few moments after sitting down, my technician says "Oh look, you hit this one too!" I literally facepalmed and apologized profusely. She just chuckled and said not to worry. She'd fix it. Within about 15 minutes, I was ready to go and I promised I wouldn't mess them up again. Here's where it goes above and beyond. They wouldn't charge me. I'm not an overly regular client and this took time out of their day. I was stunned. I only had so much cash I could leave as a tip but I would have left more if I had more because I was so taken aback that they would do this without charging. My daughter had mentioned this place to me many times since I've had a problem with other salons and the quality of work over time. My family and I have been coming to Annabelle's for 15+ years, but unfortunately, my last few experiences have left much to be desired. The ambiance is lovely, and the staff are friendly, but everything feels very rushed, the mani pedis have gotten sloppy, and the prices are crazy. I visited today for the first time in a few years with my mom and MIL. We each got gel manicures and pedicures. We had appointments and I appreciated that they were able to work on us all at the same time, but the services themselves weren't good. They didn't ask what type of pedicure I wanted, my feet were barely scrubbed (and are still rough), the massage was extremely short, and I have paint on my skin surrounding my toes. My manicure was done super quickly as well. The technician didn't even ask if I wanted my nails shaped or filed and when I asked her about it, she said "they're already short." When I asked her twice to push back my cuticles, she said "yeah yeah" and continued without doing so. After painting 1 nail she showed me and asked if I liked it, and when I asked her to please paint the full nail to the cuticle, she said she would on the second coat, which resulted in thick, uneven paint that bled into the cuticles. She rushed so much that nearly all of my nails have bubbles in the gel and she filed off rough edges at the end, breaking the seal of the top coat (I'd be surprised if they lasted a week at this point). She also had me put my hands into the gel lamp 6x each after filing the top coat, even when I said i had done it enough and my fingertips were burning. Unfortunately, my mom and MIL had similar experiences. They also tried to upsell us several times and told us that a particular polish costs more (after we picked the color) bc it's shinier. And the real kicker? My quick pedicure was $38 and my gel manicure was $45 (before tip) - by far the most expensive I've ever experienced (my usual place is $25 + $30). We used to love Annabelle but sadly over the years it's gone downhill. I wish the quality matched the setting and cost... UPDATE: less than 24 hours after my mani pedi and my toenail polish is already wearing off (has rubbed off the tip of one toe and looks tarnished instead of shiny on others) and the bubbles in my gel look even bigger and darker. So disappointing. read more

I had been getting gel builder manicures in Europe and she informed me that they actually did them! So I came back and got that service by Vivian Gel builder is a pain in the butt to apply. It's firmer than gel but not has hard as an acrylic but has to be hand painted with a brush. She was extremely detailed and made sure they were what I wanted. read more

Had an OK experience getting gel nails. It was my first time. The technician got polish on my cuticles and their line was so uneven that when my outgrowth started to show it made the manicure look extremely messy. It was also strange that when I was done, they didn't tell me. I was getting both a mani and a pedi and both tech were working at the same time. When they were done, all they did was put a payment slip down and walk away--they didn't say anything. I was left sitting there, trying to figure out if my toes were supposed to dry further or if they were coming back..? It was awkward. read more

This place is very nice. I was greeted and the ladies who helped me were friendly. The lady so did my pedicure was very rough. I usually don't mind but when I finished my pedicure it was terrible. I had to cut my nails to make them even and the polish didn't fill my toes. She did a lazy job at painting my nails. You can even see where she went over the polish more than one and created bumps. It was simple polish. As for my manicure, another lady helped me. She got the gel polish under my nails and didn't bother to clean it. I was in my car picking under my nails for a good 10 min before I left. My nails weren't even the same length! I usually wouldn't mind but I paid 71 for a mediocre job. I've gone to other underrated places which aren't as fancy but do a way better job. I didn't notice it when I was there as the ladies don't give you a chance to take a peek. I wouldn't come back considering I paid so much for a job my little cousin could do better. read more

Misleading::: I find them on Yelp. These people are horrible advertising they do waxing absolutely misleading. I called and ask if they could see me. Unfortunately, Nina (Wax specialists) hurt me so much that I start bleeding and damage my skin permanently. They don't even use the correct wax.... It was so sticky and felt so cheap.....and she was putting it all over her own fingers and getting all over her hands as well, then trying to wipe it down with tissue and have tissue stuck on my skin along with the cold wax chunks.... ugh. It was the whole horrific painful experience. I don't wish this on anyone I go to European waxing centers every month and I thought of trying this place because I live two blocks away from there, but it was the worst mistake everr!!!!!! Misleading Not Go there. At the end Chloe Apologetic and Was telling me that Nina was the best and she's done this before..... I don't think so, she probably done other things except waxing. I often Chloe to see my damage skin but she didn't want to and told me the owner was going to call me. Decided to try this place because they are open on Sundays and I am SO GLAD I did! I was looking for a hair salon that didn't charge an arm and a leg for a cut. I called for a quote - $55+ depending on length. My hair was down to my lower back so it landed at $65 - a steal for the Bay Area in general and LG! She told me I could come by in 20 minutes - also incredible to be able to call and pop in right away! The woman at the front warmly greeted me and I signed in on the iPad. 10 seconds after I checked in, a woman came to get me and bring me back to the hair salon area. I'll admit I wasn't sure what I was going to get because it seems primarily known for nails. Nina was my lady and she was so sweet and awesome! I hadn't had my hair cut in awhile (she could tell ha) so she gave me some feedback on what she suggested. She washed and conditioned my hair plus basically a scalp massage. The water was perfectly warm, and she was very attentive and careful as she smoothly washed and rinsed my hair (some make a mess, accidentally splash water on your face or down your neck, but none of that here!). We moved to the chair and she was just all-around awesome. Gentle and meticulous. She cut off a few inches, knowing I wanted to still keep my length, and gave me medium layers. Then the blow dry and a few extra trims after my hair was dry. And voila! My hair looks very healthy and the cut line and layers are perfect! I highly recommend Nina - I will definitely be back to her for my next cut! read more

This is the BEST service I have had in a long time. Kathy did excellent work on my manicure. Mary (so friendly) gave me a spa day treatment. Exceptional attention and detail to my cuticles and polish. Her massage was soothing and she took her time - no rushing. I bought the $75 pedicure package and got my money's worth and then some. I saw the reviews online and thought I'd give it a try since the lady I typically go to is unavailable. I was really wanting a pedicure more than anything but also needed a new set of acrylics. Everyone seemed friendly to me. But I'm very disappointed in how poorly both my hands and feet turned out and how much I was charged. I asked the woman in the front how much a pedicure was and she said "33" I believe (that's not what I paid). Firstly, my cuticles on my hands and feet weren't shaved and the painting job was streaky and uneven around the corners of my nails. I was so so disappointed. I walked out with a cut/slightly bleeding finger, super glue on my hands and uneven acrylic. (I understand things happen but it just added to my disappointment of the money I had to give them for this!) My pedicure alone was 50 (maybe I was charged more because I needed the previous gel removed?) And my acrylics 60. I walked out paying 110 dollars for a very average if not below average nail job. It sucks because, I can't really do anything about it. I'm not about to pay almost 200 dollars to get them fixed how I want them. So I'll have to live with it. I was hoping they'd look good for my maternity pictures. But I'm feeling self conscious of them. I WISH I could get my money back or a discount to be honest with you! Will not return. In the neighborhood and thought I would try Annabelle's for a mani. The Yelp reviews said it was relaxing place. Called first and they said they could fit me in for a standard French manicure. I walked in to an entire space of disarray. Apparently they were remodeling. My darn luck. I was asked to first sit in a tiny pedicure chair on wheels until they prepared a pedicure chair for me to sit in to get a manicure. They placed a towel across my lap with a bowl of water. Nina did my manicure. She could not listen well. When I said to keep the same nail shape she tried to file it to extreme oval which is fashionable now. I said No, I want it rounded oval. The same way it is now. This took several more corrections before she finally got it. Then when it was time for French nail polish she was completely uneven. When she said some nail longer which explained its unevenness I explained that is the whole point of French to EVEN out the nail length. She widened one nail and you could see the two lines she made. UGLY. I had to tell her to do it again but she wasn't prepared to do it over until I told her. In the end I just wanted to get out of there. I gave her my card to find out they PHONE CALLED my credit card number to her other store in Palo Alto!! How insecure! And they didn't even tell me that in advance. It was $25.00 for a manicure! In a remodeled room, with mani done on my lap with an inadequate manicurist. She then asked me aloud in fro t of everyone "how much tip?" I gave a $5 tip to get out of there and partly out of peer pressure. The whole place was a joke and I would NEVER go back again. read more

My go to spot for mani/pedis the last 5 years. Started coming here when I needed a pretty spot that was able to take me, my flower girl, and 6 of my local bridesmaid. You can schedule with your favorite nail artist or whoever is available. They are all very nice and I've never had a bad experience. My mini me has tagged along when I don't have sitter and loves getting pampered with their princess package. I usually add on a hot candle wax massage for both my mani/pedi.
