Visited Tispy Nail Bar for the first time about a month ago and had a great experience all around. People are kind, the space is cute, service was great, and my nails lasted a really long time. I usually do my own nails at home so it was fun to get something different. I got a gel manicure, which I don't normally do because it damages my nails. I was so shocked a few weeks later when I had the gel removed, that my nails were still in great shape! They did such a wonderful job not filing too much of the nail down. I wanted to share an update after trying a couple of new services at my favorite neighborhood nail salon. They've added a moisturizing hand steamer, and it worked absolute wonders on my skin -- such a treat, especially as we head into the colder months. I also had my lashes lifted and tinted by Ryan before my cruise, and they turned out amazing. I looked like I had mascara on even while swimming, which is pretty much the dream. Brought my daughter here for a gel nail set and we are absolutely thrilled with the results. She wanted something cute and unique, and our manicurist, May, brought her vision to life perfectly. My daughter, Katie, treated me to a manicure and pedicure today. Katie took me to a salon close to her new home. I am always happy to try new salons. The Tipsy Nail Bar is a very clean facility. They exercise every precaution and protocol to ensure against cross contamination. They utilize individual care kits per customer for both manicures and pedicures. The services are bar none! Attentive, easy to speak with to express needs. An assortment of beverages including champagne! They say, 'learn something new everyday' - today I learned 'OW' in Vietnamese does not mean pain but means HOT! Imagine the confusion on the pedicurists face since she was trimming my toe nails. Then I learned 'pain' is the same word in Vietnamese! LOL. Not that I was hurting but the toe nail she was working on was particularly difficult to take care of because it had been smashed by a brick while gardening. A good laugh was had by all! One of the worst nail experiences I've ever had. I stopped by this nail salon while my son was at a nearby summer math session. I noticed the place was unusually empty compared to the nail shop I usually go to, but decided to give it a try. I came in with acrylics and gel polish, and the technician recommended removing them and doing a new set. I've been getting acrylic nails for over 15 years, and I've never experienced such a painful removal process. The way she took off the acrylics was incredibly aggressive, and I started to feel a sharp pain. When I looked, I saw that two of my nails were bleeding because they had been filed down so thin. I immediately asked for the manager, who told me it was because my natural nails were thin--but I've never had my nails bleed before, no matter how thin they were. I left feeling super upset and really concerned about the risk of infection. They didn't end up charging me, but honestly, my nails are completely damaged. I've come to this salon multiple times over the last 4 yrs. I'm surprised I never wrote a review. The salon is very clean, and the pedicure chairs have a glass partition in between which is kinda nice, not gonna lie. They have a great selection of colors to choose from. Customer service has been exceptional each visit. They offer you a complimentary beverage when you arrive. Champagne please! The nail technicians do a great job. I thought this place was nice, but after this time I got to come back and Update the review. I'm really sad to return back to such a depressing, rushing environment. I used to give this place 5 stars a couple of years back but now, I felt like the service was rushed and uncomfortable. I like that they're still trying to give you a gimmick of mimosa/champagne but it wasn't like it was the bang for your bucks, at the end of the day, I could careless. I didn't pick anyone in particular so the lady that was helping me out was rushing through filling my nails. My nail beds were clean and didn't have any polish on and I was also doing my toes, so I really don't get the point of rushing my nails. The First Lady who helped me out, filed it uneven. I understood that I already had short nails but if she was experienced enough, I feel like slowing down and checking if it's even would be nice. She never ask if I needed to fix my nails but I had to let her know, she did a sigh and I felt bad so I ended up saying sorry. She told me it's okay, she'd rather have me happy but her tone of voice and her rushing to do it tell me otherwise. And then she handed me off to another male staff. When the male staff came over, they were speaking something and then the male staff tried to make conversation which I understand he was trying to be nice; but then he asked me something, switched his attention to someone across the shop yelling in Vietnamese while I was answering his question; and then ended up giving me a dry fake laugh that was unnecessary because I knew I wasn't saying anything funny and was just answering his question. That whole situation was really awkward and it made me feel so insincere. If staffs are really tired and Want to stay quiet, they're probably better off doing that instead of forcing themselves to talk for a better tip. All in all other than the personal experience, my nails started peeling by day 3; which shouldn't happen because it is gel manicure. read more

It was such a strange experience. I live quite close so I thought to give them a try. The environment seemed hostile. My nail tech rushed through the whole service and seemed annoyed. The way they take off gel nail polish is nothing I have ever seen before. She used a normal nail file to scrap off the polish and used this removal gel that BURNED. On top of that, I felt like my nail bed was being buffed so thin. It was quite painful. They aren't the worst nails I have ever had, but they aren't anything to rave about. I am sadly not going back. I came on Thursday 10/5 and a male helped me. He was pleasant and asked if I wanted a drink. As for the nail quality it was about a 3.5 out of 5. There were a few imperfections due to rushing I believe. The shape and length are great but the color is not chrome green on top like I wanted. I didn't say anything because it was more green than any other color but it's not chrome green. The color is not even which make my nails look flat.( the filing as well) I did tip $20 but I always do for their time. Overall I would go back but try another nail tech because the pics on here are great and I do believe they can do better work than I received. read more

I've gone to Tipsy a couple of times now. I have been on the hunt to find someone who I can go to every couple of weeks since my nail tech of over 10 years decided to call it quits. The ambiance is lovely, but I've found both experiences and visits to be meh. Pedicure, it was not extra ordinary and nothing above and beyond. I was not asked about what level of service I wanted and the nail tech gave me the basic. The cuticle care was lacking and rushed for both hands and feet. The gel polish on the nails were not smooth and had ridges. I had high hopes for Tipsy Nail Bar, but was rather let down. Also, if I need to go back to get something fixed then I would rather just go somewhere new. I would rather someone do it right the first time. I am continuing my search. read more

I have gone to Tipsy a few times and never had an issue other than communication. I recently went to have my nails done and tried to communicate that I needed my big toe nail cut short because somehow I had cracked the corner of the nail. I went for an extra few weeks to allow the nail to grow so it could be cut shorter to even it out. I struggled to be able to convey my request as the nail technician could not understand me. I kindly asked her to get assistance translating from another at the nail bar. She STORMED/ SLAMMED off and then had someone from the back room come out shouting at me that I always complain (Un-true, as i would never go back, if that were the case)......... She started screaming for me to leave and attempted to humiliate me. I explained that She must be mistaken me for another, but she continued. The damage was done! I left and went to my regular nail salon in Town. I can count the times I have gone to Tipsy and would never go back or recommend it I am so embarrassed and feel that if she was unable to understand me.....she should have asked for help from a coworker. I was never demanding nor did I speak unkind. I was not even asked what happened???? I was blindsided by their actions and did not know what had happened!!!! I was on the phone with a client the entire time and she could hear the entire interaction.. She could not believe her ears!!!!!! How very unprofessional. There are far to many nail salons to be acting in this manner.My daughter owns a hair salon in town and I will spread the word on how I was treated!!! I go to get a pedicure to be quite and relax. Tipsy is THE spot to have your nails done. I've been coming here for over a year and the staff is phenomenal and service is great. The owner, Ryan, is hilarious and always fits me and my friends in. Lan is the QUEEN of acrylic nails and does a great job every time. She is meticulous and takes her time to make sure it's done correctly. I always get the deluxe pedicure and either a fill or full set and I love it every time. They're a little pricey but worth it. OOH! I wanted a regular manicure. I have a dip overlay which needed to be removed. The process of removal made me anxious as the service person was using e-filer (nail drill) to remove the overlay after buffing it. I felt pressure and heat on my finger. But I trusted the process. The end result was bad. The overlay wasn't removed properly and completely. The polish was applied on my bumpy nails. You can still see where my actual nails is and where there was dip overlay. We booked an appointment for gel manicures during their soft opening and overall, I was pretty happy with the result. My nails came out looking pretty cute, but we will see how long they last! They were either busier than expected or running behind schedule as we didn't start until around 10 minutes after our scheduled time. They do have a comfortable waiting area, so that's not too bad. Perhaps some magazines or something other than nail color palettes to look at would be nice. They had a good amount of color choices, though they didn't specify which booklets to look at for gel colors, so we had mentally chosen from the wrong palette before they sat us down at the counter and asked what color we wanted (and then they produced a different book). Would be great to be a bit more attentive upfront. After being seated, they offered us each a glass of champagne (with refills) and they also had a tray of chocolates up front, which we shamelessly helped ourselves to. The pedicure stations looked way more comfy than the manicure stations with those huge and tall sofas. The manicure itself was fairly quick and felt a tiny bit rushed. The technician didn't introduce herself except for a quick hi, how are you, which is fine for me, but it wouldn't hurt to be a bit more friendly since we'll be sitting across from each other for some time. All in all, the staff was very polite, though a bit on the quieter side, the decor inside was super cute and modern, and the prices were quite fair. I'm pretty happy with the manicure. read more

Request to get your nails done with Lan if you want acrylic nails and/or nail art. Very clean, great upscale massage chairs, they serve mimosas and I loved the 90's music playlist. I mean, I haven't gotten a pedicure while listening to nkotb since way back then lol. This is my first time coming here. I went together with a friend and we both got the signature pedicure and gel manicure. The signature pedicure was $55. I really enjoyed their massage chair. They have drink service as well but we just sticked to water (small bottle of Kirkland signature water). The massage wasn't rough and it was difficult to stay still when they scrubbed the bottom of my feet. Totally worth the scrub since now it feels much softer. We chose the color for our nails and the technician did really well with cleaning up my toes to look so smooth and new. They were careful about putting on the nail polish and it looked perfect. Next was the gel manicure which was also $55. I was a bit surprised by the price because that was the most I've ever paid for a gel manicure. I still went with it anyway as I wanted to see how well they could do. They had me move to their manicure counter while my friend stayed at the massage chair for her manicure so I was a little confused about that. Again, they did a great job cleaning up my fingernails and the skin around the area felt smooth. They were quick to apply the gel polish on. My only tiny issue is my thumb nail feels a little thin on the polish that's close to the edge of the nail. Otherwise it was a quick and easy manicure. In total before tip the price I paid was $110. I highly recommend their signature pedicure as that was definitely the most enjoyable pedi I've had. I can't say the same for the manicure just for the price. It was good quality but I would rather go back to my usual spa place to get a gel manicure for a better price. Overall, I would come back again for their signature pedicure. read more
