Great selection of meals offered. Good atmosphere. Competitive pricing. Great service. We had breakfast with first selection being Chilaquiles and eggs. That were full flavor and nice crispiness with two eggs cooked over easy cooked perfectly. Potatoes and refried beans beans were both very good, Corn tortillas were handmade and delicious Chorizo mixed with egg were ok. I prefer a well mixed chorizo and fully scrambled eggs with equal ratio of chorizo and egg and the dish was not reflective of that. Don't think I would reorder this dish. We will definitely be back to try other dishes for lunch , dinner and breakfast as well. read more

Very very cute place. It's spacious and great for larger groups. They've got lots of TV screens and I can imagine watching a game or some other big thing would be lots of fun. Their menu is huge!! It was a bit overwhelming to be honest. I got the fajitas and they were amazing. Not only is their selection of food huge but their drinks are also huge! Our server was so sweet and kind. Service was a bit on the slower side. Once our order was taken, there were long gaps of trying to find our server or another to assist us, and to get the bill. It was a slower day, so I'm not sure if they were just understaffed. But it was someone's birthday and the servers do come out to sing to you! Specifically one server was in a shark blow up suit. Great Mexican restaurant that has a lot of choices. Especially seafood. The salsa is a little hot, just the way I like it. Calamari was ok. It was delivered very hot with orange slices and dipping sauce. We ordered mixed fish app and got calamari. We also ordered a fish bowl that included octopus which we definitely don't like. We also ordered bacon wrapped shrimp and we didn't get. Not sure where the confusion was but, it was good. Next time I'll make sure to be clear in what we wanted. read more

Huge menu, amazing food! Pretty huge portions and everything was hot and fresh. It was very busy so it did take a long time to get our food and drinks. The waiter was very nice though and looked to be servicing many tables. He was kind and took 10% off our bill. They have a huge selection of fun adult drinks and many people were ordering them which was fun to see. read more

This place was legit! Lots of different options to choose from, staff was attentive and kept checking on us, and the place is very clean and updated while still feeling authentic! Food was tasty and had generous portions, would definitely try again! The only downside was the arroz con leche wasn't that great but our main meals were delicious! read more

During a recent Saturday evening visit, I was seeking a casual dinner experience. Although the ambiance was impressive and the venue was busy, the food quality did not meet expectations. The tacos contained overcooked and rubbery meat, and there were discrepancies with my order. I specifically requested a spicy smothered burrito, but it arrived without sauce. Furthermore, our server seemed more focused on serving beverages to a large party than attending to our needs. As a result, I do not plan to return. Met up with some friends for New Year's Day lunch at La Morena off Mississippi, the old Manila Bay location. The menu was gigantic with food ranging from large party trays, Hispanic staples such as plate meals, to tacos and tortas, to sushi. There is certainly something for everyone. The restaurant is very large and accommodating for large groups of people with TVs throughout the restaurant. We were seated quickly but service from drinks, to the food, to the bill was very slow. The waiter was very nice and apologetic though and even took 10% off our bill without asking. It could have been a holiday thing as the place was very busy as well. All of the food tasted flavorful and fresh! My torta was very good but the fries were pretty cold and I likely wouldn't get them again. read more

Would not have stopped in here had it not been for the Agave Challenge going on this month. I'm glad La Morena is participating because they have really good food! They offer an extensive menu that includes traditional dishes as well as seafood and sushi. I was craving a steak taco salad and it did not disappoint. Actually, it was one of the better steak salads I've had in a while. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Drinks were ok. A little too sweet for my liking and too many seeds. Came here for a late night visit after midnight and the service and food were both utterly superlative. The margaritas were delicious and all of the food was excellent. Honestly disappointed. Got a Molcajete for my wife and I, when it arrived, a food runner dropped half of the meat on the table. They scooped it up, took it away. No biggie, spills happen, and we made sure the food runner was ok. Food runner and Server assured us they would bring replacement meat back. Ok great, we were looking forward to it. Well... not so much. They ended up ignoring us for the rest of our time there, they did not bring any replacement meat, just sitting uncertain when the meat would arrive. After we scraped everything clean of whatever did remain post-topple, they brought a sorry little churro dessert. How hard is it to give customers what they paid for? Especially when the loss of food was on your staff? What's worse is that despite us losing half of the molcajete, they did not comp or even discount ANYTHING on the bill. We had to find other people to even get our bill. Honestly disgusting customer service, and a complete embarrassment on their part. What a shame. They lost locals, and will never be in my recommendation list to friends again. read more

This has been my go to mexican restaurant now and the only one i go to, i dont eat mexican food often but this place got me hooked! their agua frutas is always good and the decoration is nice and inviting with plenty of seats. the food is always and always good and very delicious, never had a single complaint everytime my friends and i come to dine in. Service is fast to get seated and orders placed and the servers are always friendly, but I do wish it was a little faster and our table fets check in more often because there has been alot of times when we come where we had trouble finding our server or flagging someone down for something like utensils ir extra plates, but overall La Morena is so good and have definetely made me become a regular and a bigger fan of mexican food! read more

The food at La Morena was very good! There were tons of options to choose from as the menu is quite large. I had the Verde enchiladas which were very good and very plentiful. You will definitely go home with a to go box. All of the dishes were good and my friend ordered the octopus which was also very goods the service was a little slow but it seemed as if they were limited with servers working. However, the servers were nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The only downside of the experience are the prices. They seemed to be quite high but now a days, every restaurant is expensive so I looked past that. The restaurant is clean, decorated and open! Give this spot a try. read more

I came back to give this location another try because the La Morena on Colfax and Dayton is great, but unfortunately, my experience here was no better than my first visit. During my visit, I noticed that the prices I was charged did not match the prices listed on the menu. When I politely brought this discrepancy to the manager's attention, the response I received was dismissive and unprofessional. Accurate pricing, consistent service, and respectful treatment of all customers are basic expectations for any dining establishment. Unfortunately, this visit failed to meet those standards. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements. read more

La Morena serves big cocktails, big plates, and has a big book of a menu to choose from. We went for a late lunch at 1:00pm, which seems to be, from other reviews, a time when service isn't so timely. We were greeted and seated immediately. There was only one server for a restaurant that had 8 tables seated, the manager, and a busser. The manager made our margaritas for us which were made with care, with fresh fruit, and took about 20 minutes to get. My Rosita De Chava Margarita was sweet--more fruit than tequila. After another 15 minutes, I had to wave at the server to let him know we wanted to order food. Food came out quickly and was plentiful. The Baja fish tacos were lightly battered with a spicy cream sauce on top. Next time, I will ask for light or no lettuce since there was a lot. The restaurant was festively decorated for the upcoming Father's Day. Overall: Food 4/5, Drink 3/5, Service 2/5 while friendly, lower score only because more servers are needed. read more

First time coming here and it was really good. They have a giant menu and the local is clean. Staff was very friendly and atmosphere was fun! There were plenty of birthdays and they had a lobster and cow come out and sing with the staff. It was very festive. The drinks were enormous and the food was wonderful! I'm so excited about the new La Morena in Aurora! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with neutral colors and tv's on just about every wall, with a huge tv station in the middle of the restaurant. You can literally watch tv from any seat. The service gets 5 stars from me, because as soon as we were seated, someone was pouring water into our glasses and someone else was bringing out a basket of chips, salsa and (what I call) pinwheels. I ordered shrimp fajitas, and guacamole. My husband also ordered fajitas. The portion sizes were so large that we had a 2nd meal from it, the next day. The food was delicious and fresh! I came with my husband and 12 month old to La Morena as we just moved close by and wanted to check it out. I know they recently came to this spot, and we found them to be pretty well established already! The servers were really attentive and we liked the kids menu that had a couple more options than a typical place. My husband loveddd the seafood fajitas, and my carnitas enchiladas had great flavor. The menu was huge with lots of options. I was surprised to see sushi and don't know how I feel about that haha. Margaritas were also huge, but tasted really good (we got the house and jalapeño! Ordered a chicken tostado and a cheese enchilada and refried beans. The tostado was boring with meat, iceberg lettuce and 2 slices of tomato. Was there cheese on it? I could not taste any. When I make them at home they have beans, meat, cheese, lettuce, and more . The cheese enchilada was not hot the refried beans were not hot. It seemed like the cheese enchilda had to have been made before and then they tried to warm it up, but it was cold. I will not come back here. We went in and there were lots of tables and we were a party of 2. They sat us right next to a guy at a table with 4 chairs and he was one person. We sat in a table of two for 2 people. They did not have to put us next to him there were many other tables. Our food took quite awhile to come out which would not have mattered had it been hot. I did not like the table salsa either.
