My Monday's delivery order from this Quincy location of La Fogata was quite surprising, in a good way. I was glued to my home computer for work. I didn't want to drive even to one of the nearest restaurants to get food and this included La Fogata; I was that buried with work. I had no choice but to opt for a delivery even though this meant paying arm and leg of ridiculous fees. It was the day before Cinco de Mayo so my tired mind could only think of Mexican. La Fogata was one of the options and probably the closest Mexican restaurant. I have had both good and bad experiences with this La Fogata in the last so I sure was hoping for something at least decent. After browsing the menu, Dos ($20+) appeared a good portion so I placed it through one of the delivery apps. The time was in between lunch and dinner. As I followed the progress of it on the app, the restaurant was quite prompt about preparing my meal. The next moment I realized the driver was already on his way to my house. Wow, so quick! The restaurant is only about 5-7 minutes away from my house. It didn't take long before my food was placed right in front of my house. As I opened the plastic bag to inspect my much anticipated meal m, I realized that the restaurant did a fantastic job by separating the food into different parts/containers so certain things would stay fresh and not ruined by others. What a conscientious gesture this was! This sort of meticulous effort is something I truly appreciate and value. Now the food's quality.... Dos is a good portion indeed. I remember dining at the restaurant with a friend of mine a year or so ago. He had this dish which he enjoyed. As I started eating it myself I realized why he liked it so much. The ground beef was well cooked in spices with the perfect amount of salt. The refried beans were not too thick where its creaminess was just right. The salad part (lettuce, tomatoes and shredded cheese) were all together in one container to be away from the hot part of the dish. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the dish. And like I have already mentioned it surprised me. As this was a delivery order I can't speak of the restaurant's ambience and/or cleanliness but as far as I remember I had never found the dining room dirty when I dines in a few times in the past. La Fogata delivers surprisingly good Mexican food--much better than what I'm used to finding in Texas. The food was flavorful, well-prepared, and easily the best part of the experience. The margaritas, however, were a letdown. I ordered a Cadillac Margarita, expecting a freshly made cocktail with a Grand Marnier float. Instead, I watched the bartender pour it from a premixed jug, and there was no trace of Grand Marnier. What I received tasted more like a generic "top shelf" house margarita than a true Cadillac. I'd definitely come back for the food, but I wouldn't order another margarita. If you're charging Cadillac Margarita prices, the drink should actually contain the ingredients that make it a Cadillac Margarita. read more

Food is delicious, the flavor of the fajitas is really good. Guacamole has jalapeños in it and has a bite to it. Combos are really and reasonably priced for what you get. Very popular and crowded, especially at dinner time and the weekends. The patio is nice to sit and eat outside. Convenient location. Servers and owner are really nice. read more

New favorite Mexican restaurant discovered. We went to Microcenter to pickup some stuff and was very hungry. So we stopped at the closest eatery and found this place. Very fast service. The dip took a few minutes, and our entree came shortly after that. All of the staff was polite and super busy. This was the first time I seen a queso dip serving that big. Usually it's just a small amount but this would feed a table of 4 easy. I highly recommend coming here. The only problem I see if the parking. It shares with the park and Microcenter. Haven't been to La Fogota since before the pandemic. Reckoned it was time to try it again. Complementary chips and salsa were good- better salsa than other places for sure. Opted for a pitcher of margaritas to split with my friend. Server/bartender was very friendly and attentive as well. Sorry it took so long to return. read more

La Fogata has been a Denver staple for over 30 years. Our bartender and other staff were very friendly. Many regulars sat at the bar and were greeted by staff by name. We stopped for some margaritas and decided to go with a pitcher (as did most regulars). There are many options. The Traditional was a good option with the right balance of citrus and sweet. The service is pretty good here, the woman who initially took our order was very kind, but the man who took over after her was a bit blunt and direct - almost had no personality. The food was okay. The tacos and nachos were good, my Burrito Supreme was pretty good too. I will certainly try something else if I eat there again. Absolute slop. I wouldn't even want a do-over because nothing is going to improve the garbage they dished up. This was a GrubHub order & it's clear they don't quality check a thing going out their door. A $17 tamale - no sauce, only a few unripe diced tomatoes and their hostess/phone person said that was probably a mistake. Enchiladas with flavorless red something and no cheese - how do you effup such a basic item? The enchiladas had zero flavor; Pace salsa has more flavor than this garbage. This was my first time to this location but I've been to the other location a few times. I went for an end of the year work party and they definitely didn't seem to know we had a party of 25 coming even though the reservation was made that morning (since they won't take them earlier than day of). But they were able to accommodate. I only stayed for a short time but the couple of apps I tried were decent. I did enjoy their chips and salsa. Freakishly quick service, large portions, good drinks and food. What more could you want in a restaurant? I've been to both La Fogatas, and the facts are the same for both. The food is consistently good, and sometimes seems to come out almost immediately after you order (about 5 minutes, max 10 on a busy night - literal magic). Every server is also so positive and attentive. Supreme burrito hits every time. Their happy hour isn't too shabby either for a cheaper house marg. They sometimes refill our salsa with a water pitcher table side and something about it feels right. Go go go ! read more

We have been a few times. It's either amazing or not. Our last visit was a disappointment and service was terrible. The fajitas were burnt and the shrimp tasted off. As always, I checked the Yelp-o-sphere to see if I should eat here. I saw four stars and figured I'd give it a try. I was greeted at the door warmly and seated immediately. I ordered chili con queso and the 'Dos' plate which was a smothered burrito, taco and cheese enchilada. The chips are pretty good and the salsa is a little unusual (to me), but considering I ate the whole bowl of it, it must have been pretty good. The chili con queso was VERY unusual... and by that, I mean it seems to be made from actual cheese. It was gooey and stringy and good. The plate came and the portions were pretty large - I took most of the queso and most of the meal home with me. The ground beef is seasoned well and the green chili was good. I stopped here because I happened to be at Micro Center getting some stuff for work and was hungry. This will probably be a regular stop any time I go to our Denver datacenter or Micro Center. read more

Came to have dinner with my family tonight and was absolutely disappointed! Food was just ok but what prompted this review was the horrible service. Our waiter was good but the ladies were very rude. They repeatedly bagan taking unfinished plates off the table. I finally said to the lady (as she was grabbing food off the table) "we are still eating that!" She blatently ignored me and proceeded to take it all away, then stood by the little back drink station glaring at us. I have never experienced such horrible service and will not be returning again!! Definitely will NOT be recommending this location to anyone. read more
