New favorite Mexican restaurant discovered. We went to Microcenter to pickup some stuff and was very hungry. So we stopped at the closest eatery and found this place. Very fast service. The dip took a few minutes, and our entree came shortly after that. All of the staff was polite and super busy. This was the first time I seen a queso dip serving that big. Usually it's just a small amount but this would feed a table of 4 easy. I highly recommend coming here. The only problem I see if the parking. It shares with the park and Microcenter. So it can be very busy.
Haven't been to La Fogota since before the pandemic. Reckoned it was time to try it again. Complementary chips and salsa were good- better salsa than other places for sure. Opted for a pitcher of margaritas to split with my friend. Server/bartender was very friendly and attentive as well. Sorry it took so long to return.
La Fogata has been a Denver staple for over 30 years. Our bartender and other staff were very friendly. Many regulars sat at the bar and were greeted by staff by name. We stopped for some margaritas and decided to go with a pitcher (as did most regulars). There are many options. The Traditional was a good option with the right balance of citrus and sweet. Colorful and festive papel picado hangs from the ceiling over the bar.
Has the worst service I have ever had since they opened. Will have to think twice about going back. Have been a patron since their Evans location. Ride, poor food quality and poor service. Yet they thrive.
Absolute slop. I wouldn't even want a do-over because nothing is going to improve the garbage they dished up. This was a GrubHub order & it's clear they don't quality check a thing going out their door. A $17 tamale - no sauce, only a few unripe diced tomatoes and their hostess/phone person said that was probably a mistake. Enchiladas with flavorless red something and no cheese - how do you effup such a basic item? The enchiladas had zero flavor; Pace salsa has more flavor than this garbage. Save your money & find another place - La Fogata is somehow worse than Taco Bell.
The food is solid here. I've never had a bad meal. Service is always solid, especially at the bar. The bartenders made great drinks, and pricing is fair. The ambiance is Mexican simple. There is an outside patio as well that's nice. I enjoy coming here, and it's near my kids' place, so always fun to meet there.
Average is the best word to describe La Fogata II. The service was average, the food was average, the cost was average. I feel like this is the kind of place you pick when no one is being decisive about what they want. It will fill you up without making your wallet hurt, but nothing will make you need to come back. But inevitably you will at some point just to be left with the same feeling again.
Delicious Mexican! Our waitress was very kind & promote with service. I had steak fajitas and they hit the spot. The salsa was fresh, and had the perfect amount of spice. I appreciated how quickly we were seated. We will return.
La Fogata is my favorite local Mexican spot in Denver. Both this location & the one around Quebec are good. My favorite thing to get is the Taco Salad (featured.) The staff is always a so sweet. I tried the regular queso last time I went & it was high quality. The vibes are nice & they have inside/patio seating.
My Monday's delivery order from this Quincy location of La Fogata was quite surprising, in a good way. I was glued to my home computer for work. I didn't want to drive even to one of the nearest restaurants to get food and this included La Fogata; I was that buried with work. I had no choice but to opt for a delivery even though this meant paying arm and leg of ridiculous fees. It was the day before Cinco de Mayo so my tired mind could only think of Mexican. La Fogata was one of the options and probably the closest Mexican restaurant. I have had both good and bad experiences with this La Fogata in the last so I sure was hoping for something at least decent. After browsing the menu, Dos ($20+) appeared a good portion so I placed it through one of the delivery apps. The time was in between lunch and dinner. As I followed the progress of it on the app, the restaurant was quite prompt about preparing my meal. The next moment I realized the driver was already on his way to my house. Wow, so quick! The restaurant is only about 5-7 minutes away from my house. It didn't take long before my food was placed right in front of my house. As I opened the plastic bag to inspect my much anticipated meal m, I realized that the restaurant did a fantastic job by separating the food into different parts/containers so certain things would stay fresh and not ruined by others. What a conscientious gesture this was! This sort of meticulous effort is something I truly appreciate and value. Now the food's quality.... Dos is a good portion indeed. I remember dining at the restaurant with a friend of mine a year or so ago. He had this dish which he enjoyed. As I started eating it myself I realized why he liked it so much. The ground beef was well cooked in spices with the perfect amount of salt. The refried beans were not too thick where its creaminess was just right. The salad part (lettuce, tomatoes and shredded cheese) were all together in one container to be away from the hot part of the dish. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the dish. And like I have already mentioned it surprised me. As this was a delivery order I can't speak of the restaurant's ambience and/or cleanliness but as far as I remember I had never found the dining room dirty when I dines in a few times in the past. Freakishly quick service, large portions, good drinks and food. What more could you want in a restaurant? I've been to both La Fogatas, and the facts are the same for both. The food is consistently good, and sometimes seems to come out almost immediately after you order (about 5 minutes, max 10 on a busy night - literal magic). Every server is also so positive and attentive. Supreme burrito hits every time. Their happy hour isn't too shabby either for a cheaper house marg. They sometimes refill our salsa with a water pitcher table side and something about it feels right. Go go go ! read more

Food is hot, fresh & tasty. They have several kinds of Margaritas at various prices and all are good. I recommend the fajitas that are well seasoned and enough for two. Plenty of seating at the bar or the dining room. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Happy hour is 3-7. read more

We have been a few times. It's either amazing or not. Our last visit was a disappointment and service was terrible. The fajitas were burnt and the shrimp tasted off. Some old guy wouldn't stop coming to the table to try and get us to donate to some charity we have never heard of. He walked around bugging people all night and people were visibly annoyed. As always, I checked the Yelp-o-sphere to see if I should eat here. I saw four stars and figured I'd give it a try. I was greeted at the door warmly and seated immediately. I ordered chili con queso and the 'Dos' plate which was a smothered burrito, taco and cheese enchilada. The chips are pretty good and the salsa is a little unusual (to me), but considering I ate the whole bowl of it, it must have been pretty good. The chili con queso was VERY unusual... and by that, I mean it seems to be made from actual cheese. It was gooey and stringy and good. The plate came and the portions were pretty large - I took most of the queso and most of the meal home with me. The ground beef is seasoned well and the green chili was good. I stopped here because I happened to be at Micro Center getting some stuff for work and was hungry. This will probably be a regular stop any time I go to our Denver datacenter or Micro Center. read more

Cozy little Mexican restaurant in DTC they call La Fogata. This flan was perfect. Just north of 470 on the Denver side of DenverTechCenter, this is a great food stop for the family or margaritas with the friends. The enchiladas are cheesy and the inside is SUPER moist. Foggota, I m gonna forget about you from now on. Fell in love while back but you and I are cooling down so quickly. I know I have been cheating on you recently. It's the job and travel. I didn't know there were other fish in town till recently. Last night I was craving for your fajitas and came to see you. It was packed but still able to seat but our waitress was in such hurry, didn't like it at all. Fajita was definitely sizzling but came with only 2 tortillas. Meat was super dry too. Had to ask for more. Cheese enchiladas, should have thrown back to the kitchen. Worst one I had. If taco bell had one, I'm sure it would have been lot better. As soon as check was signed, the waitress took it right away. Yes, she sure did! Back to cheating on you. Yes, I have been seeing Chaka and Jaime recently. If you want to know where, Chaka lives next to your kin on Evan's. they have amazing enchiladas and authentic Mexican food. Not to mention cheap drinks. Yes, cheaper than you and as you know we men all likes cheap .... Drinks. Then.. there is Jamie's. Its kinda far of a commute but when you are in love for their amazing sauces and staff and owner serving there amazing food with lots of love, how one can resist. Sorry Fogatta. I enjoyed your DTC margaritas and all but I am gonna move on! read more

Was in the area & decided to stop by. No wait. Service was amazing. Multiple servers, drinks stayed full, very attentive & aware staff, clean tables, clean silverware, clean bathrooms... Great job team!!! read more
