First, the staff here is amazing! They are always so nice and the food comes out pretty quickly. The margaritas are great, but I will say that the flavored ones can be a little syrupy sometimes. I usually get frozen though so that's not a big deal for me. So far I've had the beef chimichangas, beef and shrimp fajitas, several of the tacos (barbacoa is the best for sure), and the choriqueso (hands down my favorite item on the menu, cheese and chorizo in a dip) and they've all been really good. My only criticism is for the sides. The rice and beans are not as good as most Mexican restaurants, and the salsa tastes like hot tomato soup. The salsa is a blended version and they serve it hot, and the seasoning is a bit weird. But again, they have SO many other good items on the menu! I love this neighborhood spot and will continue to visit them faithfully for my taco fix! read more

La Nortena opened up a couple years back. It replaced a Quiznos right by where I work. I've driven past the place every day, but only just recently went in to try it out. I was thoroughly impressed. From the fun fiesta style décoré to the tasty food. Their salsa is served hot, which was a unique experience for Mexican restaurants I have been to. The salsa and chips were great, but even better was the fajita special that I ordered. It was a peppered steak which offered an added flavor to the veggies, rice, and queso. I went for lunch. It is easy to find $10 lunches that will fill you up. And nothing on the menu is particularly expensive. A fair warning that you pay up at the register after eating. La Nortena must have changed owners. Ate there 3/28/25 and the menu is changed and so is the taste. I usually get the Burrito Fajita (chicken, grilled peppers and onions, smothered in white cheese sauce.) The grilled chicken didn't taste very good, they added tomatoes, and the white cheese sauce just wasn't the same. That's too bad because it is so close to work. read more

We went here and had to leave because of the horrible sewage smell. The horchata was extremely watered down and the queso was rubbery. The staff was rude when we mentioned we were leaving due to the smell. Acting like we were crazy when their restaurant was literally empty (most likely) because of the smell... DO NOT GO HERE. read more

The service was top notch. Our waiter was quick and easy to work with but more importantly he was funny and engaging with my kids and made sure they had a good time. The food was delicious and I look forward to trying more dishes from the menu. I'd strongly recommend anyone try this place out. read more

Sad to say this since we use to come here a lot but service is bad we aren't going here again waitress took our order wrong n made it sound like it was our fault said that now she will have to pay for it cause te owner makes them pay. Well food is good but it's just sad oh by the way if u get a burrito here they give u all ingredients separate so your just better getting a steak with sides n tortillas on side N make your own well very disappointed how the lad approached us n totally didn't check up on the table after that incident we'll time to look for another read more

What a disappointment!!! The salsa is served warm. It tasted like tomato soup with some spices and cayenne pepper. It was not good. I ordered Parrillada de Carnes Personal and a Tamale. My wife ordered Enchiladas Supremas. The tamale was pork, it was tough and dry. The masa dough was very thick, dense and kind of dry. The Parrillada de Carnes Personal, the description says the meat is marinated. The steak and chicken seemed to be overly dry seasoned and very salty. The meat was dry. It seemed like it was reheated. My wife's enchiladas were mediocre at best. I said to my wife before we ordered our meal, "After tasting the salsa. I have a feeling I should not order the most expensive item on the menu." I should have trusted my instinct! The server sat us and forgot to give us menus. Not a big deal. He was by himself, taking care of 4 or 5 tables. He was polite and was trying hard. All in all, he was doing a good job. As we pulled up to the restaurant. I was excited to see a sign in the window saying, "Now open for breakfast." I have been looking for a Mexican restaurant that serves breakfast for years. After our disappointing dinner, I will not be trying the breakfast. read more

Went there tonight. My favorite go to Mexican restaurant in N County. Service is always fast, pleasant and greeted with a smile. The food 10/10. It's hot, seasoned very well and always good. Ambiance is Mexican and for me personally at least turn one of the tvs on something everyone likes. Did I say it was kid friendly? Yes it is. Very festive. Our server was a lady and her personality and customer service was great. The drinks, I ordered a margarita. And it's always delish. Best kept secret around. Shhhh, don't tell nobody. We go there all the time. Charlie loves the taquitos and I usually get the Chicken street tacos chicken less the onions. Great service, atmosphere, location, food and people! The fried ice cream and custard are great too! Go there and check it out! read more
