Had a great meal here and wonderful service . this place is right up the street from us and has a nice patio that we enjoyed on a beautiful evening . my meal was absolutely delicious . I also enjoyed my $7.50 jumbo margarita. it had just the right amount of ice in it and you could actually taste the tequila which is an added plus. The atmosphere on the patio is very laid-back. I didn't see any dogs, but I did see dog watering bowls, so it looks like it is dog friendly. The prices were very unreasonable and we will definitely be back. read more

It was my second time here, but first time in quite a while. We started with an order of cheese dip, which was a bit disappointing. The cheese they used didn't taste like the usual authentic white cheese that is used in queso dip. I ordered the cheesy enchiladas with verde salsa, which made up for the sad cheese dip, though! I'm a huge fan of cheese enchiladas and it's not often you find them as a solo entree. The roasted corn and chipotle crème on top was a wonderful edition. We sat outside on the patio since it was nearly 80 degrees out in November (!) and the vibes were great. Our server was very quick and attentive. Will be back for more enchiladas! read more

The parking situation was a little inconvenient upon arrival, but we ended up getting a spot on the street not too far away. We sat in their enclosed heated patio, and we stayed nice and warm. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We all ordered small classic margaritas, and they tasted perfect. I love how they're served in a cute mason jar. The food menu is expansive and prices are reasonable. One of my friends ordered the chicken fajitas, and they looked and smelled DELICIOUS. I immediately regretted my choice after seeing hers! I wasn't super hungry, so I ended up getting two tacos: one pollo taco and one veggie taco. They weren't necessarily anything special, but I still enjoyed them. I am so disappointed. This restaurant had been recommended by friends that I trust, and perhaps the food is actually good. I can't speak to it though, because our delivery order arrived over two hours late. They use the TOAST platform, which I've had success from other restaurants, but this time my order just sat there for over two hours without being picked up. The fault is mainly with the delivery service, but when I called the restaurant to try to get information and a solution I am very unsatisfied with what happened. I asked if the food could be remade and the woman on the phone said that "you could microwave it". That is really lousy service. When the food finally arrived, the pork enchiladas were completely solid, the rice was dried out to the point of being inedible, and the chips were cold and stale. I don't foresee giving this place another chance, especially via delivery. read more

I didn't enjoy my meal on Monday as much as I did in 2019. The food was bland. I ordered the fish burrito which was uninspired: tilapia, seasoned rice and pinto beans. The burrito which has rice in it was served with a side of the same rice. ? Nowhere on my plate or in my burrito was there shredded cheese, grilled onions, or grilled peppers. So I didn't enjoy it and I wouldn't return. That being said, I imagine there are other dishes that others might enjoy. OK, this legit might be the best Mexican food I have had since I lived in San Diego...where, admittedly, that was the only good type of food around many parts of the city. But I digress. I ordered this delivery on DoorDash, it came in about 40 minutes. The food was still hot, but I think it is a sign of good Mexican food that it does not need to be eaten within 10 minutes or else its lost an edge. Quesabirria tacos, amazing. I cannot recall what the AU type of stuff is that comes in the side, but it is excellent. They are nice and crispy, they are loaded with well, seasoned pork, and a little sour cream on the side. Some of the best I've had. The Mexican Chimi, oh man. It has a nice level of spice without being over-the-top. My wife hates this word, but it is moist. , so many flavors going on and I cannot believe I might finish both of these (and I'm not outrageously overweight or anything). The food is just that good. Added a side of spicy red salsa which I definitely recommend. As long as this restaurant stays open, I don't think I will ever order from anywhere else. My greatest regret on yelp is forgetting to take photos of my food. I can't help it. I don't think I'll ever change. Where to start. Parking sucks. But that's the ONLY bad thing I can say. Patio is adorable, service excellent and food fantastic. I thought I had a hold on what a Paloma is supposed to taste like, but this one, served in a tall glass, with Tajin on the rim is the best one that I have ever had. I like to order a more spicy salsa than what is normally on the table. More often than not, I am disappointed. This spicy salsa has so much flavor and heat, it's amazing, exactly what I wanted. I ordered street tacos in an effort to not eat carbs, I was going to use my fork. I did, but when I had leftover salsa left I had to dig into the chips to finish it off. Don't you hate when the chips are so light they cannot carry the salsa? Not a problem here! These are sturdy, excellent salsa chips. My tacos were nothing terribly exciting, but came out, exactly as described. I am also intrigued by the menu, there were a few things on here that you don't see very often, a great reason to come back! So if you are thinking about going to your "regular" Mexican place, you should definitely try Dos Reyes. I'm a tiny bit sad that I have driven past here 100 times and never stopped. read more

We had such a great meal at Dos Reyes! They have a great cocktail menu - elevated, but not fussy, plus several beers to choose from. You receive complimentary chips and salsa upon seating, and the salsa is delicious! It tastes super fresh with just a tiny little kick. I ordered the tamales plate and was so impressed! I have been on the hunt for good tamales ever since I moved to St. Louis from Texas, and this was my best experience with them yet! The masa was flavorful and not too thick, and the filling was moist. Seating is somewhat limited, but they serve quickly and tables are turned over fast! Stopped for lunch in the afternoon. In the middle Of the week. The place was not crowded at all, so I located a seat outside to enjoy the fall weather. While Hampton Ave is a pretty busy street, the noise from the traffic did not take away from the beautiful music playing from the restaurant's speakers. I really enjoyed the atmosphere there overall. We normally love this place, but we are incredibly disappointed with our order today. First of all, I ordered three chorizo tacos, there's barely any chorizo and that what is in there is ice cold, it clearly was pulled out of the refrigerator and not heated up properly. Our salsa container was maybe a quarter full, the chori queso dip was maybe a third full. The ElAmbro tacos are almost all veggies, very little meat. We will NOT be returning. Been there numerous times. Not a huge place but they have about 10 table/booths inside and an enclosed patio with heaters. There's a couple of picnic tables and umbrellas outside for warmer weather. Dogs are welcome outside. Always good service. Always good food. Food usually comes out hot and quick. They'll modify anything on the menu to make you happy. The salsa is fantastic and made daily. This isn't the ketchup type that's served at many places. Plus the chips are large, light and thin. My favorite type. The first item I ordered was their chicken Chimichanga, second was 9 street tacos(3 of one flavor and 6 in a variety of single tacos). Recently ai ordered a bean and cheese burrito and my husband ordered a fajita burrito with some choriqueso dip & chips. I was very pleased with my vegetarian choice the cilantro rice that comes with the bean and cheese burrito it delicious.. my burrito was also smothered in a delicious cheese which then made me have to eat it with utensils. ‍ We used to live near Chimichangas on Grand which was good... but Dos Reyes is so much better... definitely worth the money. read more

Since Mexican food in general is one of my favorite food groups, I knew I had to try Dos Reyes Mexican Restaurant as soon as humanly possible after reading all about their yummy margaritas. And let me tell you, sister, they did NOT disappoint. My boyfriend and I split a pitcher of their classic margarita and it was plenty to get our party started. The drink was light and refreshing. They have a covered patio that basically doubles their size. The interior is vibrant and festive. You can't help but have a smile on your face when you walk through their doors. I will say that one drawback of the intimate setting is other patrons. The table next to us had a member who was really loud, and it was kind of annoying. I think I would have preferred sitting on the patio where sound isn't quite as trapped as inside the restaurant. I came here because a RiverFront Times article said this place has the best margaritas in Missouri, so I HAD to try them! I ordered the classic margarita first. Hubby ordered the coronarita. I was a little weirded out when mine came in a mason jar as opposed to a margarita glass. It's probably because the only margarita glasses they have are pretty sizable. We got the choriqueso, which was good, and I got the Al pastor taco and the fish taco. He got the fish taco and shrimp taco. All the tacos were great; I liked the fish taco better and hubby liked the shrimp taco better of his two. We were craving Mexican food and this was one of the places that pulled up on Yelp so we went for it. I could tell the place was popular because it was packed when we arrived. We actually took the last available table. The menu has your typical Mexican food but there are some unique items. I was not super hungry so I went with the Corn dip. It is similar to an elote but without the struggle of it being messy. It was one of the best things I've had. I actually wish they sell this in other Mexican restaurants. Fiesta chimichanga - I thought chimichanga was supposed to be deep fried, but this seemed to me to be more of a burrito with melted cheese and meet on it. Chicken was 90% really chewy (like rubber) and 10% soft and tasty. A bit off an odd mix of you ask me. Beans and cilantro rice on the side were great. Rice had some corn throughout which was so sweet and refreshing (and made me even sadder that they didn't give me my street corn side). Barbacoa tacos - expect these to be softer and fall apart more, but that wasn't the case. The flour shell was also a bit chewy. read more

The fish and barbacoa were my favorite! They were fresh and very flavorful. We also ordered the corn dip, however it was not my favorite.
