I've been noticing the GRAND OPENING banner for a couple of weeks, as this restaurant is in a small strip mall, behind the BK where I take DGS. I finally gave it a try on 7/22/26.
The décor is beautiful, with paintings that evoke a restaurant I enjoyed in Baja California years ago! And I discovered a new-to-me artist, @canty_oncanvas on IG, in case you want to see more of their work.
Anyway, I was hoping for carnitas, my favorite and how I decide whether or not to return, and alas - they don't serve that. I settled on a carne asada burrito. I also bought an elote (they call it street corn for us gringos). I took it to go and it traveled well till I got home, even the fresh chips.
So, the asada: not enough of it, especially since it was an extra charge of $3. Seasoned to perfection, though. The rest of the burrito was pretty standard with Mexican rice, beans, a small bit of tomato and corn kernels.
The elote was outstanding! Excellent corn, which makes or breaks this dish; lots of the spicy seasoning and cooked just right.
The counter service was quick and friendly. I browsed the dessert case and the server told me all about how they are made in-house and although the plain flan was labeled "chocoflan" (which they were out of), usually they would have the chocolate flavored kind.
I tipped the suggested 15% and my bill was just over $30. Now, I don't mind paying $15 for a large burrito since it's two meals for me, but mine was $18 due to the asada charge. And I'm wondering if someone with a heartier appetite would find that reasonable for one meal.

There is lots of free parking. It was clean inside but a bit warm, as if they keep the A/C set a bit higher. read more
