Campland is more crowded than our usual camps in the dessert or on mountains, but it was still fun. The sites had electrical outlets and water. The ground is very hard. It took some hammering for the stakes. Thin stakes work best. Once you break through the top layer the stake goes in easily. Our kids loved the playground with the giant equipment. They have a pool area with 2 pools and 2 hot tubs. All were great. We didn't get to the beach. Shockingly, the bathrooms were clean and fully stocked with toilet paper they entire weekend. Our kids wanted to take showers in the very nice shower stalls. This is an great place with the understanding its in the city.

We usually rent an RV, which makes everything so much easier and more enjoyable for our family. There is always something going on. From bike rides along the bay to cruising around on electric scooters and skateboards, it is such a fun and active environment for both kids and adults. Easter weekend is especially amazing. The energy is so fun, and there are tons of family friendly activities that make it feel extra special. What really makes this place stand out is the community. The locals and other campers are genuinely kind and welcoming. It is so easy to meet new people and feel like you are part of something bigger. Every trip we end up making new friends. A couple helpful tips if you are planning your stay. Definitely bring bikes, scooters, or skateboards because getting around is part of the fun. Also, the market on site is pretty expensive, so bring anything you think you might need ahead of time. It will save you money and make your stay a lot more convenient. Also, they have pickleball courts just outside the campgrounds easy to drive too! If you are going during busy weekends like Easter, plan ahead with parking. If you have more than two cars, make sure to park somewhere safe or consider renting an RV nearby and packing everything into it so you are not constantly going in and out. Every time we leave, we are already planning our next trip back. Highly recommend for families looking for a fun, easy, and memorable getaway.

We recently spent 3 days / 2 nights in one of the resort's bayfront cottages (there are only six of…read morethese available). The cottage can accommodate up to six guests, but our stay was just for me, my wife, and our wheaten terrier. This review reflects our experience specifically as cottage guests, since those staying in RV spaces may have a very different experience. It was also our first visit to this RV resort, and we did not participate in many of the on-site activities. That said, we truly enjoyed our stay. The resort was very clean, the staff was welcoming and engaging with guests, and we appreciated how dog-friendly the property is. The location is also excellent -- conveniently close to the I-5 freeway, nearby walking and bicycling trails, downtown Chula Vista, and the newly built Gaylord Resort property less than half a mile to the south. While amenities such as the pickleball courts, swimming pool, hot tubs, and putting green looked inviting, we did not personally use them during this visit. We ate dinner at the on-site café both evenings, and every dish we ordered was reasonably priced, generously portioned, and served fresh and hot. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout. We tried the Baja Burger, Fish & Chips, Steak & Frites, Cheesesteak, crinkle-cut fries, pretzel buns, and churros -- all were delicious, and we would happily order them again without hesitation. Our bayside cottage was clean, well maintained, and offered beautiful views of the wildlife preserve between the resort and San Diego Bay. The two-bedroom layout provided more than enough space for us and our medium-sized dog. We especially enjoyed the fire pit, along with the covered first-level patio and uncovered second-level patio facing the bay. Although we didn't use the barbecue grill, it was spotless and clearly ready for guests to use for grilling steaks, burgers, hot dogs, or anything else they wished. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would absolutely consider returning for another local staycation.

Legitimately the absolute WORST singers we have ever heard. Think screeching drunk idiots yelling into a microphone while you are trying to enjoy your fire pit and relax. The most frustrating part was that we called staff and were told that since quiet hours didn't start until 11:00 p.m., nothing could be done regardless of how loud it was. The party also appeared to include excessive underage drinking, which was concerning at a family resort. We came here expecting a fun, relaxing family vacation, not two nights of disrupted sleep. It's unfortunate because we enjoyed our first stay, but this experience definitely makes us think twice about returning.

We especially loved the fire pits, and the firewood delivery service was impressively fast and convenient. Our cabin was another highlight--spotless, thoughtfully appointed, and incredibly comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Getting around the campground was easy, and it was simple to connect with other family members staying nearby. Despite seeing some reviews mentioning noise, we experienced none at all--just a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Check-in was quick and seamless, and every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Their friendliness really added to the overall experience. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and will absolutely recommend it to friends and family. Whether you're traveling as a couple or with family, this is a fantastic place to stay. Room - We rented the Deluxe Cabin (Full Bath with Shower), KOA Patio ® Sleeping Loft. One room had a queen-sized bed, another very small room had a bunkbed (2 beds total), there was a couch in the main area that folded out and there was a large loft space with what looked to be a queen-sized mattress. Note, you couldn't stand up in the loft (perhaps small kids could - I'm 5'2" and could not). Kitchen had decent sized fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, pots, pans, and utensils. Outside was a propane grill (worked great), a fire pit with 4 Adirondack chairs and tables and an umbrella covered picnic table with I believe 6 chairs. There was also a stand up bar height table by the fire pit. And I almost forgot the best part - one bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. Linens provided (bed and bath). Nearby activities: Very easy to travel to all the sites from this location (beaches, parks, zoo, etc.) SafetyI felt very safe staying here as a female. Food & drinks: They have a cafe of sorts on site but we did not check it out. Of note: Some of the outer perimeter tent campsites were right off the freeway. My cousin who stayed there said it was a little bit noisy. Where we were DC203 was very quiet and peaceful.

Waking up to the view of the San Diego bay, skyline, and the Coronado bridge every morning was amazing. This place is extremely clean. Each RV space were spread out from other campers and offer enough space to park two extra cars. The campsite even had picnic tables for each area, bonfire pits, and self-laundry service. Unfortunately, you do have to be in the military to reserve a spot here. However, this is also a plus because it less crowded than other locations. It's so far down the coast you can actually spot the lights of Tijuana on your way in. While the trip didn't last long (the weather wasn't very kind) this campsite was impressive. They have access to clean water, bathrooms, and a direct view of the ocean. I really couldn't ask for more. Important to note: The road to the campsite is shut down around 8pm for security reasons. Once the entry to the road is locked, it's around a mile walk to the site itself. This was walk pretty miserable in pouring rain, so I wouldn't suggest Ubering to bars at night. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend this white sandy beach and site for anyone looking for a quick/easy getaway.

Thankfully , we don't swim in the ocean so we are marked safe from the doo-doo . Pricing for beach front was $85 water and electric , no sewage (go figure). You're literally on the beach so we loved that with the view . Staff here needs work.. we were surprised by how rude and dismissive she was. When we arrived she said were too early ( we were THREE minutes early ). I said isn't it almost time ? She snapped at me with "ya well there nobody here to check you in so either wait in line or go park over there" and then walked away . So if you're coming here , just know you'll have to wait in line until the EXACT time. I've been camping since I was a baby and I've never experienced such strict regulations . Other than that , spaces are small so I wouldn't recommend a large trailer . But it was great for three days !
