Doesn't look like much when you make your way to the end of the road but it is the best! Mom and pop place with lots of locals and expats for good reason. Excellent drinks and food is spectacular. Conch Shrimp combo ceviche is outstanding. Chicken fajitas, beef fajitas, and nachos - all outstanding. Their margaritas are what the Soggy Peso used to serve. Mojitos superb. We've been twice and will be returning before we leave for home. Planning to return next trip to the bonita Isla. Superb home style place. We love it.

Great civeche and tacos! Service is great and we spent a majority of the time watching the sand crabs.

Little shack in the middle of nowhere at the end of a dead-end road. Stopped during our golf cart excursion for drinks. Friendly owners.

Fun place with an out of the way vibe. If you want a great skinny margarita and some great fajitas this is an absolute great hidden gem.

Drinks were interesting in a good way! The inside is really nice on the 3rd floor. Some good live music also. And the desserts were amazing! We couldn't decide which 2 to order so we got 3 even tho we were full and loved all 3. The Mexican lime pie is great. And the Mexican caramel pie is great. Go to Rosas!

A reservation was easy to obtain via email and we were all set for a sunset, evening meal. We were warmly welcomed and promptly seated. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere pleasant with an acoustic duo playing mellow tunes in the background. Honestly, we were a little disappointed with the view that most reviews rave about. Our sever was knowledgeable and made several suggestions. We selected the Pepita Crusted Tuna for a starter, my companion had the fresh catch which was grouper, blackened with a side of the peanut sauce. I chose the Surf and Turf. For dessert, we shared the Key Lime Pie. Everything was beautifully presented, and quite artistic. The tuna appetizer was very good, but the main courses were frankly a disappointment. The creativity of the plate did not make up for the lackluster food. The steak was tough and poorly seasoned, the lobster was just passable but also chewy and not tender. The fish was not as well cooked as other restaurants downtown and again the seasoning was lackluster. The sides, lentils and mashed potatoes were just ok. The homemade Key Lime Pie was enjoyable but again seemed to lack a depth of flavor. If the food could match the service, presentation, and atmosphere then perhaps this could be one of Isla's better dining establishments, until then "the juice was not worth the squeeze."

I would've liked the actual meat of the fish to be more tender (it bordered on overcooked) but still I walked away plenty satisfied. It does have lots of tiny bones. Bread basket came with the most delicious roasted eggplant in oil, I could've eaten just that with the bread and been a happy camper. The roasted octopus was not bad but a touch too heavy on the sauces for me, I would've wanted more of the flavor of the octopus on its own. The potatoes under the octopus, however, were perhaps my favorite part of the whole meal. Everyone else seemed happy with their food - the catch of the day (with the fluffiest mashed potatoes) was a very popular choice. If you're sick of seafood, they have steak and braised brisket on their menu. Really cozy and romantic ambiance as well for if you want to dress up slightly. This place gets very popular for good reason; I liked the little bar counter they set up out front so you can watch the grilling in action.
