Stopped here early New Year's Eve and it's been awhile since I've been here. I should have taken a picture of the entrance and the bar because the Christmas decorations were out of this world. I have not seen a restaurant yet this decked out for the holiday's in a long time. We all started out with Margaritas. I always order a jalapeño Margarita, which hit the mark. Some places they aren't good, the only thing that was missing for me was having fresh jalapeños in the drink itself. We ordered a ton of apps from happy hour to share. All of them were great. Except the dip trio the Queso tasted like just plain melted cheese...no flavor. The Nachos(I'm not a big nacho person looked like something out of Gremlins. Which the others who ate it said it just tasted like a glob of cheese. The Al pastor which is hit and miss when I order it at other places was great. The corn esquites was probably my favorite dip that we had. Service was decent we had a mix of a couple servers and the bartender. We stopped in at the Mill Creek La Palmera for dinner and to check out their holiday decorations. They really did a great job with the decorations. Everywhere you looked was decorated and done very nicely. For dinner, I had the Chicken Mole, and others in my party had the Enchiladas Poblanas and the Skillet Burrito. I absolutely love their Mole sauce at La Palmera. It is super tasty and done right. I've tried it at the South Lake Union location also. Same results. Yummy! My dining companions each loved their food as well. I did sample the Enchiladas Poblanas and they also had the Mole sauce so, of course, it's a winner for me. I'm glad to have rediscovered La Palmera recently and am now planning my next visit. Great job guys! read more

I came here doing the during the holiday, and I loved all the Christmas decorations. It made me feel so happy; I love Christmas. They played festive music. And the staff were super friendly; great service. My bf and I shared the Palmera Super Nachos. I got the Carne Asada con Camarones and a Piñata Punch, and my bf got the Quesabirria Tacos. I came for their weekend brunch and loved the pop-up Christmas Cantina - it's a full-on holiday explosion inside. If you need festive family photos on a budget, this is the perfect spot; every wall, ceiling, table, and even the chairs are wrapped in holiday cheer. I had an amazing happy hour at La Palmera! They have happy hour from 3-6 pm and 9 pm-closing. Inside is decorated with xmas decorations all over, it was very christmas-y! Walked in and got seated right away. Ordered one of their holiday menus (rudolph's slushies), Palmera super nachos, and street tacos. Their salsa is bombbbbbb!!! Spicy!! Nachos and their chips were crunchy. Taco's meat was juicy and flavorful. Their drink was dangerous because it tasted good lol i could drink multiple drinks. Their happy hour menu was very affordable. The service was also top notch. Very friendly server, checking on us multiple times, and clean plates as soon as we finish our dishes. We love going to La Palmera. I have tried their camarones à la Diablo which is a hit and recently tried the quesa birria tacos which were mid. My husband loves the vegetarian options here and they always customize a burrito or a quesadillas for him. The staff is amazing and very welcoming. Great margaritas as well :) read more

First time in and overall it was a good experience. Very fast service, clean restaurant and restroom, festive decor and casual ambiance. We came in for brunch at 11:30am on a Friday and there were only a few tables occupied, and we were seated almost immediately by a hostess. Chips and salsa were set on the table with a glass water bottle and glasses, and they brought out a second basket with the meal (our request). The salsa does have a lingering spice to it, the guacamole was good and simple, and the breakfast burrito was spot on as anticipated. The shredded beef hard tacos were bland, and the rice was very lightly seasoned. The experience: We had a group event at La Palmera on a week day evening. It was a little hard to find parking as the town center was busy. La Palmera is located on the second floor of the building. Our server was friendly and we were served quickly. Our group also appreciated that the Mariner's game was playing. There are many tvs around, similar to a sports bar! Food: The food was decent. The shrimp were a little cold and very bland. The steak was more flavorful, but slightly overcooked. The sautéed veggies that it came with were delicious. read more

The food is tasty, and the portions are generous. The restaurant itself is beautiful and well designed. Unfortunately, the customer service fell short. While the greeters were friendly, our waitress was inattentive and made our group feel uncomfortable from the moment we were seated. She only came by to take our drink order, deliver the food, and checked on us once. This was noticeable given that the restaurant was not busy, with only a few booths occupied and one larger group present. The food is good but slightly overpriced for the level of service provided. Tipping also appeared to be treated as mandatory. After selecting no tip, the waitress returned and placed the payment screen directly in front of me while I was still eating, seemingly to confirm a tip was left. Lastly, accessibility may be an issue, as the restaurant entrance requires going up a staircase and it was unclear whether an elevator is available. read more

First off -- we enjoyed our meals. The server was able to accommodate some of our dish modifications and the food came out quickly. But the overall service was terrible. We were seated in a corner of the restaurant with another large party near us, which was fine. They were getting ready to leave. After our server brought our food, we barely saw him again. I asked him x3 for more napkins and the first time he seemed eager enough to fulfill our request but he never returned. He kept checking in on the booth in front of us and chatting with them, but I wasn't able to get his attention. When he came back to our table a second time, I reminded him of the napkins. The only ones we had were the ones the utensils were wrapped in and I used mine to wipe them down. He seemed sorry he forgot and I thought, okay. We're finally going to get napkins. Yay. But, nope. Same thing happened. He was more attentive to the other booth in front of us (again, we were in the back corner against the window). And we also needed a refill on water by this point. We even put the empty bottle at the end of the table for him to see. When I finally asked again about napkins, all he said was, "Okay." As if it was the first time I asked him. He also finally also gave us more water. But by now, we were pretty much done eating. He took one empty plate away but the left the rest when he gave us our check. I didn't want to deal with the the lack of service anymore, not knowing how long he'd take to to come back to run my card, so I paid our bill using the QR code on the receipt. I thought this was a great option, especially when you're in a hurry and need to leave after eating. I've been here one other time with family and the server was great. We were also seated where there was more traffic in the dining area so you can see us really well. I don't know if this server was new or what his deal was, but they need better customer service training. And napkins. All I wanted were napkins! C'mon. I should have just taken the initiative and grabbed some myself or flagged down another server. But - is that what your customers need to resort to? I haven't been here in years since we moved out of the area. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, I wish I took pictures, but you'll just have to go see for yourself. Everything is decorated from bows on chairs, to little Santa's on the wall and lots and lots of tinsel decorating the entrance. The food was just as great as I remember and generous portions. The service was great with multiple people stopping by to refill chips or drinks. On a Friday night at 6pm, we got a table right away and food within 20 min of sitting down. I love this place! I've been here four or five times for happy hour now, and it's becoming a new favorite. All the staff is always friendly, helpful, professional. The place is clean, with nice decor. The food and drinks have consistently been not just good, but really good! Money is tight these days, and I found the happy hour menu allows me to still go out and have a great meal in a nice setting with nice people, all without the stress of ending up with a $40-50 bill like typical restaurants in the area. If you like Taco Bell, you will like here. The food is better than Azteca but still not great. I ordered a California Burrito and it was filled with Beans & Rice with very little meat. I am starting to think this is a thing here in WA. The service was great, plenty of ppl walking around to refill water or take plates away. The staff was friendly from the moment you walked in, serving to when you left. I truly felt they welcomed you rather than the forced "hello / welcome". The facility was nice, clean and well maintained. You can sit indoors or opt for outdoors. We had a large party (8 adults & 2 children) and were charged a gratuity. Food ok, not as good as it once was, service in the bar by the bartender, Maria was ridiculous! 2 tables and no service had to go to the bar after several attempts to get her attention finally placed the order. The food was served fast and hot. Now time for the check, couldn't get her attention again and again finally went to the desk where I said I left a few dollars on the table, more than she deserved then p aying on the machine it asked for a tip which I declined and she obviously changed to 20%. I didn't notice this til I was outside obviously mad as the service hardly deserved one tip let a lone two! Won't be going in the bar for lunch anytime soon! read more

To be clear the food has great, the service was good. They sat us in the bar, even though there was plenty of available seating in the dining area. We were initally seated right at the enterance (High traffic) of the bar, but I quickly moved us out of the main traffic. The host didn't seem to care where he put us, he just walked us into the bar and threw down the menues and walked off. When we started our evening the bar had loud music playing, but barely acceptable. About 30 minutes into the evening the volumen went up significantly and we had to yell just to be heard. The ambiance was HORRIBLE. I parcially blame myself for not complaning, but there was no reason for the 90db+ volume when there were only two table being served in the bar. I will go back to La Palmera, but I will NEVER sit in the bar again, and I will be more picky about where I sit next time. read more

We came here with a large group reunion and so I wanted to be able to chat. We were meeting at 5pm so I was able to get a reservation the day before no problem. While they do not have a private room, our party of 15 was able to be seated together at one long table in our own part of the restaurant so we could get up and visit with people in our group without bothering others. Toward the end of our time, they did seat some people at the booths around our table, but it was not an issue at all. They did not rush us to order as people in our group were arriving at different times. They kept the complimentary chips and salsas full during this time. We ordered drinks and relaxed with those until they all arrived, then sat down to order our meals. They have a lot on the menu and I got the enchiladas suizas and they were pretty good. There was a lot of chicken and the sauce wasn't too creamy. The rice was a bit dry, but otherwise was it was a good meal. With a party our size, they only would do one check, but it wasn't a big deal. The service was great all night! read more

This place just passes as average but with the price, service and how they nickle and dime you, I'd recommend going to other amazing Mexican food options in the area that have better food and better atmosphere. The food was very average. I got fish tacos and the fish was so salty. My partner got the carne asada burrito and thought it was pretty decent for what it was. Nothing special about the rice and beans. Something to also be mindful of is they charge after the first tiny basket of chips. The service was ok. Our server seemed bothered whenever we asked for anything (i.e enough silverware for the table, extra napkins). Also, maybe the time we went wasn't the high point of the day but the atmosphere is so stale. Love me some La Pamera. Been going here with the family for years and have never had a bad experience. Staff is familiar with us and we are greeted every visit. My go to meals are the Santa Fe Nachos and the Carne Asada burrito. I customize both of them to my liking and they are at my table in less than 10 minutes. Portion sizes are perfect and the food is always piping hot. Saturdays and Sundays can be a beat in terms of crowds but waits are never more than 15 minutes during peak times. read more

We went here for dinner on a Saturday night. It is a very big place. We started with drinks--their Cadillac Margarita was very good. They brought out the traditional nachos and salsa. The salsa was too spicy for my liking, so we ordered some guacamole which was excellent. We split the two person fajitas and had both steak and chicken. The meat was very good (and the chicken was excellent). I liked the mix of vegetables and the spices were just right. The side dishes of beans and rice were good also.
