Wonderful service and fantastic food! Yummy chorizo in omelette and tacos. Bacon was perfection!

Got take out. The enchiladas poblanas was tasty, but a bit sweet. It came with chips and 2 salsas. The red salsa tasted like it had an Italian seasoning in it. Maybe oregano or basil, i couldn't tell. I didn't care much for that. The white was like a cool ranch and it was good. Overall it was okay for Virginia Mexican food.

My wife, son and I decided to try the food at El Burrito for a second time (we first tried it last…read moretime we lived in the area about 4 years ago, and vowed we would never return). So on a recent evening, we stopped in for what we thought was going to be dinner; Boy were we wrong. Before I bring you along on our journey to what was arguably the most profound bastardization of Mexican cuisine I've ever encountered, I'd like to note the staff was very pleasant and we had no issues with service. Now the "food"....where do I begin? I ordered a burrito which comes standard with what seemed to be a half gallon of melted cheese they call queso (queso simply means cheese in Spanish btw, and this melted amalgamation of horror would never be found in any real Mexican kitchen). Inside was a heaping pile of nothingness, meaning I it was filled wIth every cheap condiment(rice, beans, more rice, some more beans) and literally no steak, a truly remarkable bargain for $11.95. My wife ordered a burrito bowl, which needless to say was equally awful. The lettuce was old, the beans appeared to be mixed with super glue at a 50/50 ratio and beared no semblance to what refried beans are supposed to look or taste like, and the pork was surprisingly edible, but again severely lacking in quantity. The final and most egregious violation of hundreds of years of Mexican culture came in the form of my son's quesadilla. This was no ordinary quesadilla folks; this was something I barley have the ability to describe, but perhaps is best described by averring the same genius that wrote the original Exorcist movie would have been terrified of the thought of consuming this treacherous excuse for edible food (see picture). A floppy, greasy, and discolored tortilla enrobed a hot pile of what looked like roadkill was spackled with and overdose of the afore mentioned "queso" to form what quite possibly was the most off-putting thing I've ever laid eyes on. Again, staff was nice;no issues there. The food is GOD AWFUL and I will NEVER EVER go back.

The only thing that was a little off-putting is the stares. I noticed that when the workers had nothing to do they would sometimes just stare at the customers. I don't think it was intentional, just a little odd. Great place though, would definitely recommend.

First, let me thank Guads for having some healthier menu items such as bowls and lettuce-wraps for…read moretacos. I started coming to Guads for that very reason when I was on a restricted diet and the places I usually went didn't have very much in the way of low carb menu items. Second, Diego, Abner, and Jaquelin are always extremely attentive and just as nice as can be. I've watched them work with other tables and service to everyone (not just me) is top notch, friendly, and for such a small staff that makes a huge difference - it makes you feel welcome, and being the place is somewhat small (smaller than the other places in town) it makes for a much cozier "like family" atmosphere. Third, it is your typical Americanized Mexican restaurant with a lot of the same dishes and you know, you like what you like and what you get used to. I like the sauce served with tacos at La Parilla better. I like the Mexican Street Corn and Fried Plantains at Plaza Azteca (which neither other place has). I like "Los Tres" (3 types of Guacamole) at Guads. Their Mole Poblano is my favorite. Their Enchiladas Rancheras has cubed pork where I'm used to shredded - but it was extremely tasty pork cubes nonetheless. The Poblano appetizer is a Poblano people stuffed with Shrimp. The Brioche are skewers like "shish kebabs" with whichever meats you decide and is quite nice for something a little different. Their red and white sauces are "different" than the other places - I like their red sauce best, I think Plaza Azteca had the better white sauce - but they're all slightly different and I'll take any of them any day of the week. My family loves their Chile Rellenos - which are NOT battered which is kind of unusual TMK, but they are actually quite good like that and a nice variation - especially if you want to cut down on some fried stuff and carbs. So I mean, you have to go and try it, and find what you like. They do do Taco Tuesday and it gets super busy, and the Tacos are "very basic" but I mean, TBH I always feel guilty when I get my bill because it's so low and even a single taco has enough in it for a - well, the prices have gone up with what's happening in the world - so they were 1.00, then 1.50, I think they might be 2.00. But heck the other places are like "no we don't do Taco Tuesday, don't ask". But I like their meals enough that even if I'm there on a Tuesday I'll still order a meal a lot of times. My favorite is probably the Taquitos Mexicanos with is 2 Taquitos - but they're two tortillas each so longer and thicker than typical - those are set on a bed of refried beans (enough to hold them in place) and topped with sliced avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, jalepenos, pickled red onion IIRC, and crumbled cheese, with some chipotle drizzle or something IIRC - very nice presentation. The Chimichangas are like tortillas made into little pouches with the brisket inside of them - amazingly good and again, an attention to the appearance of the food rather than just a plate of rice, beans, sauce, and enchilada like so many dishes (they do those too though I you're looking for that). Just a lot of the stuff is nicely presented - got Texano dip the other day and it had two "wings" on it - a fried flower tortilla cut in half that had the edges cut with triangular points like sun rays - very nice for something you'd just expect a bowl of cheese dip. We've had nothing bad there - some things weren't as good for me, or for my family at other places (and we all like different things at the different places) but I've had nothing I'd say was downright bad. Some things are kind of "plain" or "basic" so I feel like, with the other more "typical" dishes, the "typical ones with a twist" and the "unique" dishes, there's something for everyone here.

The restaurant has lots of seating, Spanish music playing, and a nice casual atmosphere. There were only about four groups of customers when we arrived, and with four servers working, it did take a little while for someone to get our order. Once we ordered, though, the food came out very quickly and was nice and hot. And they checked on us throughout. The flavor was decent overall. The California fries were really good--they came with sliced avocado instead of guacamole, which wasn't a bad decision. I've definitely had better carne asada tacos, though. The meat was real and had a good texture, but I felt like it could have used better seasoning. My biggest disappointment was the tortillas. They tasted like store-bought tortillas rather than fresh-made, which really made a difference with the tacos. Overall, not a bad spot. The food was hot, portions were good, and there were some definite standouts like the California fries. I just wish the tacos had better-seasoned meat and fresher tortillas.

I noted all the content of the BC that was listed on the menu and it contained items that I liked. When my food was served it looked delicious and when I took my first cut of the burrito and tasted it, it was delicious. I kept going for a few more bites, and I noted that all the content of the burrito was not there. When I saw the server I let him know that some of the content was missing. The server stated that all the content was inside and he stood there for a few seconds looking at me and I was looking at him and I said OK and I took a couple more bites and there were still missing content, so I cut the "Burrito California in half open it up and call him back to the table and showed him that all the contents were not there: the chorizo sausage and pico de gallo were missing. There was no offer to make a correction, the server just took the plate and left. Came back with a ticket of 3.50 for my drink. The ambience is very fitting for a Mexican restaurant. This was not my first visit matter fact it was one of my favorite places to go when I had a taste for Mexican food and we've had a birthday dinner there for my son-in-law before and we enjoyed our meal and the service at that time.

Seems like things were due to improve once the new management came in, but it didn't happen. There wasn't more than one or two other guests plus the two of us inside in the dining area (the drive-thru was getting the majority of the business). Surprisingly, our food was very good that day, but the dining area needed sweeping and mopping (at least the spots where drinks had been spilled). The tables needed wiping down, the condiment area needed cleaning and more napkins were needed in the dispensers. The drink/ice machine sounded like it needed servicing as it was making loud noises. I realize that maybe they were shorthanded that day or maybe something pressing had gone on beforehand that I knew nothing about, but it seems like a manager would be concerned and stay on top of the cleanliness of the restaurant. We were also put off by only having the computer screen as a choice of ordering as it can get stressful and sometimes (as in the case with us) you still need to speak to an employee about your order. We saw young workers who didn't seem to be too concerned about their job. Taco Bell is one of my favorite fast food places, but definitely not this location. Things could definitely be improved, not only inside but also your landscaping too. Take pride in the store you represent.
