This is an absolute gem and honestly, we don't deserve to have such incredible, authentic mariscos so close to us. My husband first saw this place when he was visiting Taqueria Jaguar (another awesome spot) and the line was surprising. After doing further research, we decided to give it a try. La patrona is a food truck parked on the left side of a food truck park on the side of the road. People often say, "Don't eat fish out of a truck on the side of the road." I am here to say that is absolutely WRONG! The person behind the counter gave great recommendations and took our order promptly. While we waited, we sat directly under fans on a covered patio with lots of tables available. Hand sanitizer and water was also readily available, which I appreciated since we were dining al fresco. We ordered the fish tacos and the mixed ceviche with the mango habanero sauce. The tacos were out of this world. I can honestly say it was one of the best fish tacos I have ever eaten. The fish was fresh, crispy, and not greasy. It was seasoned to perfection and had a wonderful texture. The cabbage and cucumber added a delicious freshness and crunch as well. The creamy sauce on top and a squeeze of lime made everything perfectly balanced and rounded out the taco nicely. It was epic. My husband had the ceviche and said it was fantastic as well. Oh. My. Gosh. THE BEST ceviche I've ever had in my lifeeee. Ordered the ceviche mixto verde, it was absolutely perfect. It had a good amount of heat, the flavors were super well balanced, limey, spicy, and very fresh seafood. The ratio of fish to pico and avocado was excellent, they were generous with the fish, shrimp and squid. The crackers were a solid vehicle for the ceviche and didn't take away from or compensate for the incredible flavor. Ugh I'm obsessed with this place. You MUST go. The Ceviche mixto verde was amazinggggg. It came with fish, shrimp, and squid. It was super flavorful and tasted really fresh. Also had a good kick to it -- not overly spicy that you can't eat it. The dish was about $21, which I initially thought was pretty pricey, but the portions that they gave were really fair. They didn't skimp on any of the seafood -- everything was super well balanced. Im a pretty frugal person, and I definitely thought this was worth it. My wife and I shared the dish and both left feeling content. The service was really nice. The seating is outdoors, they have good shade. We had our dog with us. Definitely would come back again. read more

Finally stopped by La Patrona for lunch today and let me tell you it did not disappoint! The Coctel de Camarón was delicious. The flavor was like none other. My husband had the ceviche mixta verde and loved every bite of it. The spice was spicing and it was just what he likes. We shared a shrimp taco and the flavors were phenomenal! Can't believe we hadn't tried them before but I know we will be back real soon! Highly recommend them! read more

This is some seriously flavorful food. Both the ceviche and fish tacos packed lots of flavor. Fresh, made to order. Portions on the smaller side (inflation!), but I've had plenty of bigger portions of fish tacos and ceviche with a lot less flavor than this. It's worth it. Service was good. Took a bit longer but with a food truck, I get it. I didn't expect Tajín in my ceviche that was different. I got the fish taco and it was decent. The weather was perfect to be outside. Wouldn't say it has kid friendly options but my kids ate the fish tacos just fine. read more

Customer service, horrible, the young girl with the 50 rings on her fingers had a really nasty attitude, basically threw the utensils when we went to pick up the food at the window. I usually don't write reviews but this place is damn good. The fish was very fresh and everything I ordered was perfect. This ceviche is better than many restaurants I've had in Austin. The guy working in the trailer was nice and informative. There were many varieties of spicy sauce to accompany the ceviche. They also make their own and it was very flavorful. I have to agree with all of the very positive reviews for this mobile restaurant! I was really surprised with the freshness and quality of all the seafood and ingredients. My first visit was with a couple of neighbors of mine living in Georgetown. I'm biased because I REALLY like Fuego Latina in Georgetown square and didn't know what to expect. I'm happy I tried! I had the Fish Soup and it was spot on tasty! Good seasoning, a slight kick but the fish was really tasty and fresh. I got an original ceviche with shrimp and fish to go. I enjoyed it for breakfast the next morning. I've been back again today and got the ceviche and picked up an order of the habanero mango ceviche for one of my neighbors. This is a great place, everything about it is clean and friendly. I would give it more stars if I could. Outstanding job La Patrona! read more

I come from a home where Mexican food is tradition, therefore you always have standard when it comes to eating out specifically to eat at any "traditional" establishments. This place has awesome ceviche. This is coming from someone who only likes to make it or have it made from home. My husband picked it up when he stumbled upon it running errands. He said the service was great and even though it's from a food truck I mean.. let's just make it clear, often times that's where the bomb ass food is from. It's a little hole in the wall and I will definitely come in person and try out new dishes. Came across this place while perusing Yelp near me. I believe it is a food truck out off 79, but we had it delivered so I can't speak to that. Ordered some ceviche and tacos and enjoyed all of it. The menu is relatively limited, but if you are craving ceviche this is the spot. Wasn't mad at the tacos either though so even if ceviche is not your thing I would go again just for the tacos as well. read more

Y'all, this place is addictive. I'm not kidding. Just try it. We get the original or the fish/shrimp ceviche. The fish tacos are really yummy. Hubby's had something else he really enjoyed but I was focused on eating my ceviche. The owners and their son(?) are really nice and very helpful. All I can say it WOW! I was having a particularly bad day and decided to go on a long drive. After a few hours I needed something to eat and found this place on google right off the road- perfect location. Normally I am not a seafood girl but the reviews for this place were all 5/5 so I thought why not...The reviews don't do it justice!!! The ceviche was so fresh and flavorful it cured my bad mood. As Cajun/Creole transplants, we just had to give this place a try for Saturday lunch in November 2024. I suspect we'll stick with our other reliable sources for "a taste of home". If I lived nearby, I could see coming back for the cheap beer ($4 Dos XX at the time of purchase; with today's inflation & tariff talks, that price may not hold) and tavern ambiance, sticking to the pub-fare menu items. We always test a new Louisiana-inspired joint by 3 things: seafood boil, po-boy, and gumbo. By comparison, our longtime genre faves in the area that succeed on all 3 include Stuffed Cajun Meat Market, French Quarter Grille, Crawfish Shack, Deckhand Oyster Bar, and Cypress Grill. Right off the bat, the $7 cup of gumbo at Bayou Shack was a headshaker. Seasoning was weird, and it had a thick, gravy-like consistancy more like an etouffee. Strike 1. Next up, hub's $14 fried catfish poboy with Cajun spice-dusted fries. Nothing terrible here, but it was the typical not-in-LA poboy that tastes like a sandwich made by someone who does not eat poboys. Bread was a right-out-of-the-bag hoagie roll, not the crispy-on-the-outside, light-and-fluffy-on-the-inside Leidenheimer, Gendusa, or Langlinais-style, toasted french bread loaf that it should be. Strike 2. My $21 "Build Your Boil" half-pound "Bottom of the Bayou" flavor snow crab boil was pretty good, although I was offended to pay an extra $3 for the addition of a single red potato. The nicest part was the provision of proper boil-eating tools, including gloves, a bib, shell crackers, and crab leg pick, plus lemons and melted butter for dipping. I'll have to come back during crawfish season to see what I think of their offerings for that kind of boil, since the boil is where they seem to do best. Our waiter was wonderful but we didn't have the heart to tell him the truth when he asked what we thought of each dish. Our total for 3 meals at lunch before tip was $75, a bit over-the-top. $15 for chicken tenders and $5 for Sysco fries? Yikes!

I came here once for some shrimp tacos, and have been back almost everyday since then ordering those same shrimp tacos. I dream about them, my mouth is literally watering as I type this. They are perfect alone with just the lime that they give you on the side but my current obsession is dousing them in their homemade hot sauce which I would drink if I could. In response to the review saying that the tacos are more like an appetizer before your meal, you can absolutely make these tacos your meal. They are not small, they're normal sized, so I typically order two or three and am more than satisfied/full after eating them. I've also been able to try their ceviche and chicharrón and HIGHLY recommend them both. The service is consistently great, and I like that they have a paging system so that I can wait in my car for my order on hotter days. They do have a nice seating area, though, and their overhead fans seem to keep the flies away. All of this is to say that you won't regret giving them a try, and might even end up becoming a regular yourself. read more
