This is an absolute gem and honestly, we don't deserve to have such incredible, authentic mariscos so close to us. My husband first saw this place when he was visiting Taqueria Jaguar (another awesome spot) and the line was surprising. After doing further research, we decided to give it a try. La patrona is a food truck parked on the left side of a food truck park on the side of the road. People often say, "Don't eat fish out of a truck on the side of the road." I am here to say that is absolutely WRONG! The person behind the counter gave great recommendations and took our order promptly. While we waited, we sat directly under fans on a covered patio with lots of tables available. Hand sanitizer and water was also readily available, which I appreciated since we were dining al fresco. We ordered the fish tacos and the mixed ceviche with the mango habanero sauce. The tacos were out of this world. I can honestly say it was one of the best fish tacos I have ever eaten. The fish was fresh, crispy, and not greasy. It was seasoned to perfection and had a wonderful texture. The cabbage and cucumber added a delicious freshness and crunch as well. The creamy sauce on top and a squeeze of lime made everything perfectly balanced and rounded out the taco nicely. It was epic. My husband had the ceviche and said it was fantastic as well. Oh. My. Gosh. THE BEST ceviche I've ever had in my lifeeee. Ordered the ceviche mixto verde, it was absolutely perfect. It had a good amount of heat, the flavors were super well balanced, limey, spicy, and very fresh seafood. The ratio of fish to pico and avocado was excellent, they were generous with the fish, shrimp and squid. The crackers were a solid vehicle for the ceviche and didn't take away from or compensate for the incredible flavor. Ugh I'm obsessed with this place. You MUST go. The Ceviche mixto verde was amazinggggg. It came with fish, shrimp, and squid. It was super flavorful and tasted really fresh. Also had a good kick to it -- not overly spicy that you can't eat it. The dish was about $21, which I initially thought was pretty pricey, but the portions that they gave were really fair. They didn't skimp on any of the seafood -- everything was super well balanced. Im a pretty frugal person, and I definitely thought this was worth it. My wife and I shared the dish and both left feeling content. The service was really nice. The seating is outdoors, they have good shade. We had our dog with us. Definitely would come back again. read more

Finally stopped by La Patrona for lunch today and let me tell you it did not disappoint! The Coctel de Camarón was delicious. The flavor was like none other. My husband had the ceviche mixta verde and loved every bite of it. The spice was spicing and it was just what he likes. We shared a shrimp taco and the flavors were phenomenal! Service was good. Took a bit longer but with a food truck, I get it. I didn't expect Tajín in my ceviche that was different. I got the fish taco and it was decent. The weather was perfect to be outside. Wouldn't say it has kid friendly options but my kids ate the fish tacos just fine. read more

Customer service, horrible, the young girl with the 50 rings on her fingers had a really nasty attitude, basically threw the utensils when we went to pick up the food at the window. I usually don't write reviews but this place is damn good. The fish was very fresh and everything I ordered was perfect. This ceviche is better than many restaurants I've had in Austin. The guy working in the trailer was nice and informative. There were many varieties of spicy sauce to accompany the ceviche. They also make their own and it was very flavorful. This is some seriously flavorful food. Both the ceviche and fish tacos packed lots of flavor. Fresh, made to order. Portions on the smaller side (inflation!), but I've had plenty of bigger portions of fish tacos and ceviche with a lot less flavor than this. It's worth it. I have to agree with all of the very positive reviews for this mobile restaurant! I was really surprised with the freshness and quality of all the seafood and ingredients. My first visit was with a couple of neighbors of mine living in Georgetown. I'm biased because I REALLY like Fuego Latina in Georgetown square and didn't know what to expect. I'm happy I tried! I had the Fish Soup and it was spot on tasty! Good seasoning, a slight kick but the fish was really tasty and fresh. I got an original ceviche with shrimp and fish to go. I enjoyed it for breakfast the next morning. I've been back again today and got the ceviche and picked up an order of the habanero mango ceviche for one of my neighbors. This is a great place, everything about it is clean and friendly. I would give it more stars if I could. Outstanding job La Patrona! read more

I come from a home where Mexican food is tradition, therefore you always have standard when it comes to eating out specifically to eat at any "traditional" establishments. This place has awesome ceviche. This is coming from someone who only likes to make it or have it made from home. My husband picked it up when he stumbled upon it running errands. He said the service was great and even though it's from a food truck I mean.. let's just make it clear, often times that's where the bomb ass food is from. It's a little hole in the wall and I will definitely come in person and try out new dishes. Came across this place while perusing Yelp near me. I believe it is a food truck out off 79, but we had it delivered so I can't speak to that. Ordered some ceviche and tacos and enjoyed all of it. The menu is relatively limited, but if you are craving ceviche this is the spot. Wasn't mad at the tacos either though so even if ceviche is not your thing I would go again just for the tacos as well. read more

Y'all, this place is addictive. I'm not kidding. Just try it. We get the original or the fish/shrimp ceviche. The fish tacos are really yummy. Hubby's had something else he really enjoyed but I was focused on eating my ceviche. The owners and their son(?) are really nice and very helpful. All I can say it WOW! I was having a particularly bad day and decided to go on a long drive. After a few hours I needed something to eat and found this place on google right off the road- perfect location. Normally I am not a seafood girl but the reviews for this place were all 5/5 so I thought why not...The reviews don't do it justice!!! The ceviche was so fresh and flavorful it cured my bad mood. This will now be our go to spot for a great seafood meal instead of driving all the way to San Antonio! The portions of food will definitely fill you up. We got the Texas sampler which was a good amount of food. My husband got the lemon pepper where I wish he got something with more Cajun/ garlic/ heat. I honestly blame my husband for picking the flavor. The shrimp were a pretty good size and my plate had plenty of butter which I enjoyed. I will definitely be back to try there other spices :).

They didn't take in consideration that they made a mistake in making the order. They offered no type of reimbursement for the mistake. I could not see myself having to go and pay over $30 again with the possibility that I would not be able the eat the second order.

I'm certain I would have dozed off in one if we weren't called up. We sat outdoor alongside several other families with kids. The music wasn't super loud and the tables were generously spaced so we weren't close enough for other peoples' conversations to distract from our own. We then ordered the following: Smoked Fish Dip Maine Crab Cakes Brussels Sprouts Fish Sandwich Lobster Grilled Cheese Lobster Pot Pie The smoked fish dip was good but nothing crazy. My sister had suggested the fried calamari instead, but my love of bread overrode my familial devotion. The dip itself was moist with no excess liquid and spread easily onto the provided cuts of sourdough toast. My only critique is that the dip seems like it's missing something, but I'm not food-smart enough to know what. However, because of my bread bias, this is still a 4/5. The crab cakes on the other hand were amazing. There was no excess oil soaking the fried crust and the crab meat inside wasn't over-salted, as I've come to expect from most crab cakes. These were highly enjoyable with bites of avocado and mandarin in between to balance the fried elements. 4.5/5 The Brussels sprouts were well-roasted, with a nice vinaigrette coating their crispy outsides. I expect this level of quality for Brussels sprouts from American restaurants at this point, so no surprises, just good in general. 4/5 Skipping the fish sandwich as unfortunately I didn't get to try them, but it looked and smelled great. I had one bite of the lobster grilled cheese, so take this particular review with a grain of salt. The smokiness of the cheeses sits on top of everything else without overpowering, while the lobster, bacon, and tomatoes provide a great mix of fat and brine. This is a lowbrow surf and turf between bread, and it's perfect. 5/5 Finally, we come to my own order, the lobster pot pie. Unfortunately, I shared this with the aforementioned sister and didn't get the full experience. The dish came piping hot and fresh, and the puff pastry was flaky and not overbaked. Internals-wise, I could see myself eating just the cream sauce like a chowder. It was perfectly flavored with veggies and herbs, with regular chunks of lobster. Not too salty and absolutely decadent, would not share again. 5/5 Overall, this was a highly enjoyable experience with fast, not rushed, service and an amazing spread. This is an easy recommendation for a family-friendly restaurant with lowkey vibes, and I'll forsure visit again when I'm back in town.
