If you see multiple locos & get confused; they have expanded!!! I wrote one of the first reviews for them so I am so thrilled to see this business growth!! Want I really love is that the 620 location with the growth, still has consistent palate popping flavors but also the same friendless with the employees. The vibe of this location is unreal. I hadn't been here in a while & as soon as I drove in, my spirit was dancing. This is a wonderful community feel. They have fixed the entrance to the food park so that it's even easier to enter & exit to 620. With the lights which are beautiful & the picnic tables under beautiful huge trees; it is a magical place to stay and enjoy your food. read more

I have reviewed this business before but when the truck was elsewhere. This Austin establishment has garnered significant praise for serving some of the most exceptional Birria Tacos, also known as tacos de birria or quesatacos, the city has to offer. The core of a Birria Taco lies in the tender, flavorful braised meat, traditionally goat or lamb, which forms the heart of the authentic birria stew originating from Jalisco, Mexico. I ordered this just now because I'm a huge fan of quesabirria tacos. I specifically asked for lots of extra cilantro, lots of extra onion and limes. I don't actually have a kitchen at the moment and I just moved and I even asked the delivery driver to make sure and I don't know about you, but that dish is not the same without extra limes, cilantro and onions. They were not provided and you know what I just think that is a freaking shame people are ordering from you and they go out of their way to request the things that will really make the dish for them and anybody who eats this dish would feel the same I presume. But I asked for it especially because I don't have a kitchen right now. I have just moved and it's just honestly that not it's not that good. The birria- itself is not that good. It's not. the tortillas are not soaked in the fat from the birria sauce and and then it's like I can see in the photos here on yelp right there are limes in the photos why do you even sell your food on Uber Eats? If you don't want to take care of your customers? I don't know but you know what I'm giving you a big fat zero because number one - the taco shell itself is not soaked in the fat and the juices it was decent, but I literally had zero cilantro, zero lime, and zero onions, and I specifically asked very kindly for lots of extra cilantro, lime, and onions because that's what makes the dish for me. So yeah if you get a zero star. If you don't want to cater to your customers that you are going through the food deliver services don't even do it because sometimes people are living without a kitchen. Sometimes they have just moved and it so I'm sitting here with these tacos that are not even properly done in the first place, but I specifically asked for lots of extra lime lots of extra cilantro lots of extra onions and I actually got zero and so it's just like beefy kind of cheesy not dipped and grilled a taco. It's actually not good so you need to figure out how to take care of people or stop allowing yourself to use food delivery apps. If you can't take care of those people like me I'm sure you've done this to a lot of other people, but the thing is is that right now I'm gonna go ahead and order from somewhere else and I want to leave this review because you need to step up your game and I know I can see now that you are a food truck so you probably have some big attitude about whoever the hell you are but you know what? You failed and I specifically asked for extra lime extra cilantro extra onions because that's what makes it good to me. And honestly, if you dipped your corn tortillas into your consommé and then fried them, that would also make it good, but your beef is kind of dry and obviously your corn tortillas are just subpar. I just would not recommend this business. I mean this is a Tuesday right I could kind of understand if it was a Friday night Saturday night but no, this is just subpar and keep looking if you're looking for some good birria tacos I wouldn't go for it ever aggain. Dry meat- almost no cheese- and you can't even spare the extras- very sad. I do not recommend this food truck- stick with restaurants who can afford the brick and mortar- this place sucks. read more

As you can tell from the pictures that I've posted, the food looks amazing and the clerk was sweet, so I'll start with the food and I'll come back to the clerk. so starting off with the food I think I was really hungry and I want it tacos that day and this was the first place that popped up as a suggestion for birria tacos and I just pulled the trigger and went. to my luck it was the perfect place. It wasn't too far away and it was quick. I got my food and like five minutes there was no line. There was no one there and I'm may have picked the perfect time to go around 2 o'clock on a Saturday I believe. The tacos were amazing. I don't even think it took me five minutes to finish those tacos probably some of the best birria tacos I've had, very delicious!! This food truck was located with maybe two other food trucks in a small area and a up-and-coming developed area not too far away from the highway. The service I received from this clerk was polite, calm, reassuring, and extremely sweet; loved her for that. She even left a little affirmation on the top of my to go plate. I will definitely be going back to get more of these tacos and trying out other items on the menu! Came here with my boyfriend for dinner because we both wanted to try birria tacos and these did not disappoint! I have nothing to compare these to but the meat was super flavorful and the consommé was so good. I got the beef and my boyfriend got the chicken birria tacos, we both agreed that we liked the beef ones better since the chicken was greasier and took away from the overall taste. Service was super fast and these came out hottt. We will definitely be back and hope to see more of a crowd when we do! read more

I was there on 11/8 and I hope you remember me. The reason for my 1-star review is the attitude I got from the female worker and the poor quality of my food. When I ordered, I asked for the chicken birria quesadilla and the quesadilla with chuck roast. Her response was, "Just so you know, it's my last piece of chuck roast, okay? I can't sell it anymore. Do you want a chicken quesadilla instead?" Why even suggest something else when that's exactly what I ordered? Is there an issue with me getting the last piece, or were you hoping to save it for someone special? Then when I said, "Sorry, I forgot to ask for a second water," she sighed loudly and said, "Oh my god," before turning around. At that point, I told her, "No worries, I'll get it inside" You were completely out of line. I don't know why you chose to be rude to me specifically, but I'm the one supporting YOUR business not the other way around. Treating paying customers like they're a problem is a fast way to lose them. I regret swiping my card there and won't be back. read more

Came to the beer garden spot and the food trucks were out , so we decided to try some tacos. I had the birria quesadillas and they were delicious, they were not greesy at all and the meat had good flavor. My husband had the suadera tacos and they did not disappoint! Will def be ordering food from here every time we come. I can't wait to try the asada tacos and the agua frescas . My only recommendation is if they can throw in some cebollitas asadas and rábanos that would complete the dish :) read more

These are hands down the absolute BEST quesa birria tacos in Austin and that I've ever eaten! The quality of the beef and all ingredients are top tier. Plus the full of flavor consommé sent it all into outer space deliciousness. My husband got the steak tacos and he thought his were very, very tasty as well. The food comes out fast and everyone was all smiles. This is in a food truck yard with plenty of seating and great music playing from the truck, too. Know when you come that their tacos are on the pricier side, but they're worth every penny! read more

Food was great!!! Great taste!! The flavors were on point, service was polite and attentive Ambience its an outside food truck park so its pretty nice when is not too sunny or hot. They have some tables to sit and is nice. Prices.... Well.. its a little expensive 5 tacos for 14.99 no drink included. Or 3 birria tacos for 13.99 i thought that was a little over price. this is one of those places that you have to either eat the food there or live close when picking up your to-go order. order from here on uber eats + when the order arrived, it was not good. probably sat out too long. had to heat it up a few times and then the flavor profile came out. it was good then but is probably better eaten at the location when the tacos are fresh out. read more

The bf and I wanted to get some tacos and found out our fav spot was closed. So we did a little search and found Tacos La Catrina and decided to give it a go. First off the folks who took our orders were so friendly and good energy. My bf got the birria tacos and I got the quesabirria tacos because cheese is life. We both agreed the beef was so tender and loved how crispy the tortilla was. It made the experience of dipping it into the consommé a pleasant one because your taco stayed in one piece. I enjoyed their red salsa. Perfectly spicy and worked well with the whole dish. Also I love that they give a little candy with your meal. I shall be back to tackle that birria quesadilla and saudero taco! read more

Wow the food is ridiculously good they have decent parking and plenty of outdoor seating. Be carful you might drive rite past La Catrina and never know what your missing out on. Keep a look out for colorful La Catrina faces on the back of a black food truck. If your coming down from RR it's past the O'Reillys but if you're coming up from the toll road 620 and you pass an O'Reillys you've gone too far. If I could give more stars I would !! This place is where it's at. So when your in north Austin and having a bad taco craving you know where exactly to come eat . Living on Parmer and Anderson Mill area there are limited options as far as food truck, it's just not as common to find a good taco /food truck the way you would closer to downtown and south Austin. Sure there are a few taco places don't get me wrong but i like choices. I get the worst cravings but don't want to drive my self through traffic to grab a small bite unless the weather is decent and I have the time. Luckily La Catrina is a few minutes away and I couldn't be happier . The prices are good the food is Amazing and the owners are some of the coolest and generous people you'll meet. I do suggest trying the Quesabirria tacos at the very least they where my favorite between those and the Birria Quesadilla . I also wanted to mention they give you little Mexican candies with your food which to me just adds to the entire vibe . As soon as I saw the Chiclets and Duvalin I was instantly transported back home and for that I'm exited to come back and also grateful. Please make the drive even if you are not in the area it is worth the trip . Again everything is delicious but my recommendation is the Suadero Taco and my most favorite the QuesaBirria Tacos . read more

We tried both the beef and chicken queso birria tacos. Both were really good. The dipping broth was super flavorful and warm; on top of that, the adobo salsa was on point too. If they had chips i'd eat it that way also. Guy serving us was super nice, wish I would've caught his name. Plenty of space for parking and sitting. These tacos are amazing! We got queso Birria and suadero. Honestly, you're not going to get much better than this place. We wouldn't have changed a thing. We've tried a lot of birria tacos around and in Austin including the top rated (la tunita 512) and these had so much more flavor. We were also nervous to eat the suadero because the Birria tacos were so good and thought it would be a let down, but they're just as good too. If you're on the fence, you won't regret this place. It's our new favorite taco spot! read more

If you are looking for an amazingly flavorful and affordable Birria taco spot, this is the spot! The Birria quesadilla was perfectly cheesy and the beef was had a really distinct flavor to it that makes it stand out from other Birria that I've tried. The consome with it is also one of the best I've tried, highly recommend dipping the suadero tacos in it as well. I also really love the corn tortillas that they use! The mango agua fresca was a little artificial for my taste but my partner loved it, I think the packaging is super cute. Service was really friendly! I also recommend bringing bug spray if you are going to be eating there, we were constantly fighting off flies while we were eating. read more

12/9/23 Update: I've since been back twice thinking it was a fluke but sadly quality seems to have drastically decreased at this location. I'm hoping it's a temporary thing but the last two times I've gotten tacos here, they were much lighter filled, not at all crispy on the outside and the consommé tasted off. I'll give them one last try but it was sad to see a pretty noticeable decline in quality recently. read more

These tacos bussin bussin no cap frfr. seriously some of the best tacos in austin by an unassuming food truck in a random parking lot. Plenty of parking and food came out quick. They also included some Mexican candy which was really nice. I had the birria tacos. 11/10 the suadero tacos looked hella dank too. I'll have to come back for those. Edit: I came back for the suadero tacos and they were also smackin 10/10. read more

Woooooooow. Went over to a friends house and her husband ordered some Uber eats. When I heard tacos I was a little unsure because I haven't had much luck in the area but these were amazing. I had their chicken birria and I'm already dreaming of my next taco encounter at La Catrina. Or, today, he had to knock and honk to get your attention to give him the right kinds. (You gave him 8 green salsas to start with, NO RED was in his original bag.) 2. Asked for cheese on all four bacon and egg tacos. Only got cheese on 2. Wtf. 3. Im adding pictures of the sausage and egg tacos that are FLAT compared to the other tacos. The other tacos were pretty full. 4. Long waits most of the time. Get your stuff together, El Patron.

I've given them grace because I love made-to-order food and it's always worth the wait. As well the Cedar Park location is newer but at some point the wait has to decrease. It would be great if they could bring over some folks from the Gracy Farms location because they have their prompt fulfillment times down to a science! Hopefully CP will improve soon so I can get their great food closer to home more often. *Edit: Got my food after waiting 30mins. The Shrimp Fundido Tacos were just okay. They were very small and really greasy.
