I am definitely late to the party, didn't realize that this was more than just a great carry out spot. Delicious cabbage soup and OG Reuben. Not cheap but you can taste the quality ingredients. Great family service. Wish I took pictures of the food but we ate everything super fast. The sandwich is big and can easily satisfy two people.

Came in to pick up food to go. Val the owner is very friendly, gave us a taste of sesame chicken and chicken wing while we waited in the lobby for our food to be ready. The waiter is also very friendly, he gave us water. The whole experience is amazing, so much love by giving us free bite and drink without asking anything in return. Restaurant is clean, everyone seems to enjoy their food very much.

Great spot for deli in West Bloomfield. We loved the outside seating, the service was amazing, and the food was solid too. Today we shared the chicken salad platter and the delicatessen salad. The salad was plentiful, though more meat would've been welcome. The chicken salad was "ok" but the cucumbers and tomatoes that came with it were fresh. And the challah was very good. It also came with a side of skinny slaw (this was my favorite part of the meal). I liked the skinny slaw so much that I ordered a container to go to have with lunches this week. Definitely will be back again. Great local deli.

BLT on rye with onion rings

Stopped in for a quick lunch and was delightfully surprised. It was around 1:30 in the afternoon and the restaurant was still packed with diners. I was able to grab a table and after deliberating, I went with my standby which is a BLT. I also had an order of onion rings. This sandwich was huge and served with two pickles. The basket of onion rings was plentiful and piping hot. Both the sandwich and the rings were delicious. My glass of soda was filled constantly, so A+ on the service. I did notice they had a hot bar in the back that had some ready-made food to go. I will try that on my next visit.

The only issue is, I'm guessing the kitchen was backed up and the servers were a bit overwhelmed. We ended up having an enjoyable meal, and the food itself was great as always. And eventually someone who was not technically our server took care of us and did an excellent job. I shared eggs and challah french toast with my daughter and both were great. The latte (ehhh) ... I finally made it on a free morning, just in time for an early lunch. On the day of my visit, it was cold and wet, so outdoor dining was out of the question. Just inside is a large deli counter with items available for take-out. Beyond that was a large and stylish dining room, where diners enjoyed the last of their breakfasts. I was a smidge earlier than everyone else for lunch; the dining room filled up soon afterwards. I loved the huge menu - there were so many options for soups, salads (Maurice, Greek, and Cobb, to name a few), sandwiches (Reuben's, triple deckers, and even vegetarian), burgers and hot dogs, breakfasts (omelettes, waffles, and French toast), and deli classics. I opted for the Victor Special, extra cut, which included larger portions of both corned beef and pastrami, coleslaw, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing. The thinly-sliced meat was indeed piled high at the center. For my side, I had wanted the onion rings, but they were already sold out! Instead, I went with the hash browns; they were crispy with a mashed potato-like interior. In retrospect, I should have tried some of the foods I've enjoyed from my hometown: knishes, blintzes, latkes; I'm now dreaming of meals I've had in my past. Service was fine at first, but my server got busy elsewhere, and her coworkers pitched in.

I don't dine in, so my reviews are exclusively based on my take out experience. I have moved out of town so I haven't had the opportunity to enjoy them as much as I used to. Their chicken soup is phenomenal. Absolutely the standard for what chicken soup should be. Fresh carrots, shredded white meat chicken and flavorful broth. Their kreplach are tender and filled with nicely ground and seasoned meat as well. Corned beef and pastrami are excellent and fresh. Chicken and tuna salads are both moist without being soggy and well flavored. The carrot cake is moist and delicious as well. The only thing is that you will pay dearly for the experience. I had the usual for my first time at a new deli, ie, chopped liver on rye. This time I had chicken soup with kreplach, too. It was excellent. Thus far, I would have to rank Steve's among the 3 or 4 best around these parts in terms of quality and probably *the* best in terms of variety. Service was outstanding, too. A plus: unlike most delis, Steve's actually has more than just salads to offer my vegan wife. My server was very knowledgable about that, too. So, I brought home a vegetarian "liver" sandwich and a knish for the missus' dinner (and an order of kishke with gravy for me).

They have a menu board with multiple options listed. You order at the stand at the back of the store, and then our food was brought out to us even though we had ordered it to go. I am not sure if that is always the process- I was expecting to go to the counter to pick it up myself so that was a nice surprise! We ordered our sandwiches to go even though we were dining in as we knew we would be taking home leftovers. The seating area inside is no frills. They have less than 10 tables inside, and when we were leaving all of them were full with people waiting for seats. They did appear to have 2 tables outside but they were not being used as it was raining. They did have a carafe full of ice water that was self serve by the door, and they had large cups available which I appreciated! My eyes were immediately drawn to the Spicy Chicken Caesar and the Napa Club. Since this was my first time I ordered both and planned to share half of each sandwich. When I opened the Spicy Chicken Caesar I was surprised by the appearance of it. I had expected a lot more lettuce inside. It looked more like chicken salad rather than salad with chicken. The flavor was good and it was not too spicy! The focaccia was very soft. The Napa Club had great flavor to it, but when I was eating it I could really tell that there was avocado inside of it. The predominant flavor was the garlic and herb aioli. I did feel the chicken was a touch on the dry side. Overall, my experience and food were good; however, I am not sure I agree with the rave reviews. I would return in the future and would love to try some of their other meats aside from chicken, and their pasta salad also looked nice. The service was friendly and I feel like the price was fair. It's a nice addition to downtown Farmington!
