The queso and chips were nice to start off. We met family here on Sunday afternoon. The place was nicely decorated inside. I had the Birria burrito and it was huge. The meat was flavorful. I wasn't fond of the sauce it was served in on the plate. We sat in a booth that is tucked inside the wall but it might have been the reason that service was slow. We seemed to be forgotten several times and then it took more than 20 minutes for them to process our card when paying. The staff were polite and the food was cooked right.

Fogon Tapatia

We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere and since we had gotten wrapped up in all we were doing, we forgot to eat. Luckily we found this place while driving around and it was open late and had good reviews. They sat us immediately and I was particular about where we sat and they were fine with that. We ordered the fogon tapatia to share. This dish is served in a fiery pot. Makes sense since fogon means stove and tapatia are the people from the Guadalajara area. This dish has everything including chicken, meat, shrimp, cactus, beef, chorizo and veggies. It comes with three tortillas, rice, guacamole, and the fixins that you would put on a typical fajita. It is a good size to share but u will definitely need some extra tortillas which is about $2 more for three. We were happy with our dinner here. There was a good flavor and or perhaps due to us being hangry since we ate only early morning and this was dinner Our server was nice but when we needed refills on drinks and napkins, it was hard to find her. Glad we found some good food in this not so familiar area Just an FYI, this is not far from Mt. Dora and Tavares, and this area has a few strawberry farms. During the evening where we sat in the way back. It was the best bc it wasn't too loud, it wasn't too smoky from the kitchen(the middle area), also not so many kids screaming their heads off like the front area. They also have an outside area.

Chips salsa & queso

We came here after several recommendations on how authentic and fresh it was. We are very devoted to Eduardo's Locos Tacos but decided to give La Perla a try. It's a stand alone building that looks like a refurbished house. There is outdoor seating and the parking lot is dirt. The inside is very nicely decorated with booths, tables and a bar. We waited at the door about 5 minutes before being acknowledged or seated. They have Coke products but no Coke zero. Soda, Tea & lemonade are all $3.50. Beer are $4.99. Chips and salsa were below average. Salsa was as runny as ketchup with a little kick. ***We got free queso for checking in on Yelp (WOOT!) snd that was probably the best part of my meal. I had the pick two option with a ground beef burrito and a cheese enchilada. Their rice has peas in it (eeew) so I ordered double beans instead. They did not let me have any other options besides doing that for a rice substitute. The beans were good. The enchilada was average and the burrito was so bland. The server checked on a few times but when we were finished had to wait over 10 minutes for the bill. They do give you a discount for using cash so keep that in mind if you decide to come here. I don't recommend this however, except for it being cute inside and they have bendy straws, I don't have much else to say positive.

Very clean inside, lots of parking, service was good. My husband had the California burrito with steak. It was really good. I got the combo with beef taco and enchilada and pork tamale. All were good. Rice and beans were tasty as was the chips and salsa.

The food was super good. I went for a lunch date. The tamales had too much masa and not enough meat. It was just okay. The rest of the food we got was excellent. I enjoyed the queso dip, the chimichanga, and the cheese Lovers Taco! We will be returning to try some more dishes.

Great veggie fajitas. They had nice outdoor seating and quick service. The staff were very friendly and portions were huge.

Nice variety of margaritas and cocktails

I had my reservations coming out here but this place didn't miss a beat. Everything was well done and just how I enjoy my Mexican restaurant experiences. This is casual, friendly dining. We were immediately greeted by staff on a Friday evening where most places would be swamped. The margarita menu is extensive with something for everyone. I had the La Guera margarita and it was so refreshing with the perfect amount of tequila with fresh pineapple and Tajin on the rim. My husband got the house margarita and despite what your expectations would be for a house drink, this margarita was presented in a huge oversized glass. It was pretty good but did not beat the La Guera. Some of the margaritas came with the option of small or large. Food met expectations. Chips arrived immediately, nice and warm with fresh salsa. We ordered a cheese dip as a table side. i appreciate that they were transparent that it was just a cheese dip and not a true queso, still it got the job done. I had the combo with a steak burrito, steak taco, and beef enchiladas. I appreciate the server informed me that the burrito and enchiladas would be covered with a red sauce. My burrito from the combo was OK but I wish I had opted for a regular burrito as those come stuffed with rice and veggies and my combo burrito was fairly basic but OK. My kid had a taco and wasn't crazy about it (I think the ground beef in the taco is cooked in pork fat and it always adds a strange taste to the ground beef. I won't charge this against them though as most Mexican a restaurants I've been to do this.) My hubby had a huge salad and it was a good portion with tons of veggies. The refried beans were pretty good and the rice was so so. The place started getting busy with large groups arriving just as we were leaving. This place will definitely be a crowd pleaser, causal enoug h to bring kids, and seems good for groups plus it's very reasonably priced. We left satisfied with leftovers. I could have went for another margarita but I'll wait until next time. Again, get that La Guera marg and thank me later.

Our go to spot for Mexican! The hubby and I have been a few times and it's always spot on. Very clean and pleasant restaurant with fair prices and delicious food!

Great food, great service. The nacho toppings were cooked perfectly - not soggy, not raw. Waitress was great. Good looking place too.

Food was good. Service was extreamly slow. Shouldn't take 2 hours for a meal especially if the place isn't busy.

IMHO the very best Mexican food in Central Florida. The table-side guacamole is out of this world. We ate ever drop risking being too full for the meal. Four meals - Shrimp Tacos, Carne Asada tacos, Carne Asada and Shrimp Al Chipotle. Every One was wonderful, cooked perfectly and served beautifully. The atmosphere is young and vibrant. The service was perfect. The Margaritas were large and delicious. We wanted to go back again the next day! After dinner, while strolling thru charming downtown Eustis, we ran into a friend who happened to be chatting with the owner so she introduced us. I gave him a congratulatory handshake for a wonderful meal. We'll DEFINITELY be back often.

We were about to…read moredrive out to Altamonte Springs for a birthday dinner, but on a whim we checked the menu online for Rosa Mezcal, which opened last year in downtown Eustis -- and we're glad we did. First impression: spotless. The host stand and dining room were immaculate -- not easy for a building that dates back to 1884. The bathrooms were equally clean. Before we even sat down, chips and salsa hit the table, and that pace of attentive service never slowed. Drinks arrived quickly, food came out quickly, and everything was consistently on point. There were at least a dozen occupied tables, so this wasn't staff boredom -- it was genuine operational excellence. Happy Hour was a surprise highlight: 2-for-1 20 oz Modelo drafts and 12 oz house margaritas. Highly recommend Tajín rims on both. The chips, salsa, and queso dip were excellent -- and we definitely overate it because everyone still ordered full entrées. I had the Salmon with Mango Pico de Gallo, vegetables, and rice -- a large, thin fillet lightly seasoned with Old Bay, and topped with diced mango, tomato, and green pepper. At $20 (Feb 4, 2026), that's a strong value. All price points were very reasonable. Around the table we also had: Carne Asada Enchiladas Poblanas (with classic mole sauce) Portobello Mushroom Fajitas (vegan-approved) Whole Fried Snapper All were perfectly prepared. The only "complaint" came from our vegan daughter, who insisted the snapper made eye contact with her once or twice. We'll absolutely be back.

The three of us ordered the $15.99 3 white enchiladas platter and the $14.99 3 ground beef tacos platter to share, ate until we were full and still took home a to-go-box. The restaurant brought us extra plates and serving spoons so we could split the food into individual portions with ease. It's possible to substitute sides without an extra charge, and we love the freedom of being able to customize. I love the Mexican rice with refried beans. Therefore, I substituted the lettuce, tomato and sour cream "salad" side that comes with the three enchiladas for refried beans, making the sides Mexican rice and refried beans. The tacos came with cilantro rice, which tasted like standard cilantro rice. My mom preferred the Mexican rice instead. The tacos only come with one side and adding refried beans is not cheap; it's an additional $4.99. The tacos were stuffed and the filling overflowed onto the plate. The taco shell tasted good, but the shell wasn't up the task of holding all those ingredients and broken apart a little more than half way through. It was finished with knife and fork but still remained delicious. The chips and salsa are plentiful. They volunteered refills. We accepted extra salsa which we used for extra seasoning on the tacos. The restaurant decor is basic Mexican themed - substantial wood chairs, tables and booths. However, booths and chairs have both seats and backs padded for comfort. There is a stocked bar along the back wall, but it's not a "bar scene" place. It's an option for singles dining alone who don't want a table or a space to grab a drink while waiting for your party. There was a large television tuned to a sports station for entertainment. There is outdoor seating, which is directly off the shopping center's parking lot. Therefore, cars line the outdoor sidewalk/eating area. What the outdoor area lacks in ambiance, it makes up for by being dog friendly.

It's still the same family running it, and the quality has remained consistently excellent all these years. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. Their salsa and guacamole are some of my favorites, the margaritas are fantastic, and the menu has so many options that it's honestly hard to decide what to order because everything sounds good. The service has always been friendly, attentive, and welcoming. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in what they do. My family and I have celebrated countless birthdays and special occasions here over the years, often bringing large groups because we know we can always count on a great experience. The staff does an excellent job, even when our party is large, and they consistently make everyone feel welcome. The restaurant is always clean and has a warm, inviting atmosphere, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. It's not easy for a restaurant to maintain this level of quality and consistency for over a decade, but they've done exactly that. If you're looking for authentic, delicious Mexican food with excellent service, this is the place to go. I highly recommend it.
