It is part of a small Mexican supermarket which had a different name before so not sure how long this new ownership has been here. They cook and have the set up in the front of store under a tent but they do have a kitchen inside the market. You go inside the market by side door and order inside then you take your ticket to the outside tent where they have the menudo pot and condiments and they get you served up. They have a couple of fold up tables under tents for you to eat there but most of the people were taking it to go and so did I. They also have carnitas by the pound, tamales, and a variety of tacos of lengua, cabeza, carnitas and birria. We got two menudos to go and it was perfectly cooked, meat was clean tasting and tender and broth was excellent. This menudo does not have grano or homily but we added some at home and my menudo I ordered with Pata which is the foot part or hoof of cow a glutenous mix of tendon and meat which is traditional in menudo. if you don't know the meat in menudo is tripe. They had the three types of tripe in this menudo honeycomb, book and blanket. The menudo tastes very similar too my menudo so they definitely use Epazote herb. There were 10 to 12 people there and more coming so they serve until the pot runs out. Tacos looked very good so next time will get some while I wait. Service and food a definitely 4.5. The market was small but well stocked and the meat at the carnicería looked fresh and it was very clean so next time I will buy some meat for bbq while I wait for my menudo to go. You can get sodas which they sell inside the store and the tortillas are hand made but I think you have to ask for them as I did not get any with the order. I had some freshly hand made tortillas waiting at home which we paired with refried beans with cheese which you roll up and eat along with the menudo. Great find and can't wait to come back and try the other food. Not sure if this stand is only in the weekends or if it is open all the time. Usually menudo is only sold on weekends so I would assume that but not sure.

I told my wife that I would wager that they had good food, knowing that there was a substantial investment and that it seemed as a casual observer that this was a fine addition to our city. A literal convenience store, Family Market also has a tiny carniceria inside with a full menu: tacos, bbq, even burger meals. We have come twice within a month because their asada fries are so good. Some items we've tried: - Asada fries - SO likes the classic asada meat. I've ordered this and replaced it with chicharron and lengua. *Pro tip: you can choose any meat shown on the meat counter and they will cook it for you! - Quesadilla - this is fine, but I can make at home - 4x4 burger meal - nicely stacked and cut in half. Comes with heaping portion of seasoned fries (same fries used in asada fries). All food orders also come with a free soda machine drink. I think breakfast orders come with a free coffee. Such a nice detail. The store itself has SO MUCH stuff! Not just typical snacks, but jewelry, bedding, camping essentials, etc. The workers are also super nice. I give it a 4 instead of a 5 because the tortillas they gave us weren't warmed up & the carnitas needed to be warmed up too, but fuck it nothing a microwave can't fix. The interior needs a little work & should definitely get dusted more often (if it even gets dusted at all) My brother & I were looking for some chips & the shelves looked very dusty, even the bags of Pepes Chicharron we got were dusty, but not to big a deal. I came with small expectations & ultimately to my surprise was quite satisfied with the taste & quality of the carnitas.

They recently opened up on Mchenry, so you know I had to try their food. Best pupusas I ever had, just magical. There tacos had me closing my eyes with every bite.
