I don't shop here too often, usually only when they have a great shrimp sale. On my most recent visit, I bought a few items (including sales priced shrimp). It wasn't until I got home that I looked at my receipt and realized I didn't receive the sales price for the shrimp. Upon returning to the store, the cashier who checked me out was herself getting ready to buy some groceries (I assume her shift had just ended). She saw me asking if I was in need of any help. I explained my issue, and she left her place in line and proceeded to help me. This cashiers name was Peanut, and she is why I'm taking the time to leave a 5 star rating! The meat at this store was bad. I could smell the bad meat before I seen the bad meat. I didn't purchase any of their meat because of this. Bought some Kings Hawaiian rolls and they ended up being stale when I got home and tried to use them for sliders with the deli meat I purchased. I reached in the refrigerator for the fresh pet food and something strange and sticky got on my hand, so disgusting, an employee apologized and told me where the restroom was to wash my hands, but there was no soap in the bathroom, against the health department rules. Hard to believe they have no baggers either, most the employees were in the deli/bakery department, they could have had someone bagging. I suspect they are going to close business soon. Customer Service is terrible. I Waited at the counter at the deli while three employees passed me by and continued their work without a "hello" or" be with you as soon as possible". They Just continued to talk with each other. When finally waited on, I felt I was a bother to them. I have been in customer service for over 30 years and if my employees acted that way with my customers, heads would roll. Prizes have gone up so much, have to pay for that remodel.... Well for those of you planning evening meals for your family, steer your purchase to either Walmart's neighborhood market directly across the street behind Burger King or Raley's just up the road on Geer. I walked in at approximately 5:45pm Friday evening to pick up some Deli Fried Chicken, there was no more chicken available and when I asked if they would be putting anymore out I was told by Deli staff lead that there would be no more chicken put out as they close the Deli section at 5:30. So I just went over to Raley's to pick up some fresh out of their fryer Fried chicken , also picked up a fri-tip for sandwiches tomorrow and Samosas for lunch. I guess Raley's wanted my patronage more than Save Mart. read more

Well, here we go again with the Save Mart shenanigans. It was 9am and not one self checkout station is open. I can't stand their long lines and the reason I liked the "new" store is because of the convenience of self checkout. When I asked an associate if they can open even one station, her response was, "Sorry." I think she meant, "sorry, not sorry. "They had enough staff to man the other stands. I just don't understand this Save Mart. I'm going to dub them ShenaniMart. They definitely deserve the title. I'm definitely going to stay clear of this place during the holidays because if what I've experienced is a prelude of what's to come, then it's off to Raley's or Walmart. I was there today around 4 and had to wait 25 minutes to order and 45 minutes to get my order. Then what I wanted was not available. The Save Mart on Lander deserves a 5 star rating. It is a nice sized store with plenty of workers. However, the store on Geer doesn't deserve one star. They seem to never have enough checkers. Usually, they have two.However, yesterday there was only one checker with 15 or 20 customers lined up. I returned my items & left the store & crossed the street to a store where I knew there would be plenty of checkers & self checkout machines for even a faster time getting my items. read more

Shoppers beware!! I was at Save Mart in Turlock tonight, and saw an employee who works there at Geer Road store dropped the tongs and put it back in the pan of chicken in the deli department. I reported the incident to the individual working at the register, as well as a Store Manager. This is exactly how germs are spread, and especially during Covid. You would think an employee would have enough common sense to get a clean set of tongs in replacement of the ones dropped on the nasty ole floor where everyone walk and coughs. This review is based on an in person experience with a MANAGER at the Geer road store in Turlock. His name is Dom. I came to the store during normal business hours to make a delivery. It was over 100 degrees outside. Upon arrival I called the store to get the back door open and nobody answered. I called again and again and also rang the buzzer (which is extremely loud) several times and got no results. I was forced to walk around to the front of the store. When I mentioned to "Dom" that nobody was answering the phones or buzzer. He said "shhhhhh , I'm not here to hear your complaints " . So Dom, I'm going to remind you that even though we are there to make deliveries, we are also CUSTOMERS. Your attitude is horrendous. And you should take a look at that. Also, I would assume that it is company policy to actually pick up the phone when it rings? Those are customers calling. read more

Went to Geer Rd store on Sunday (10.21). Decided to pick up some chicken salad, walked over to the deli and waited and waited and waited. Meanwhile there was a female employee standing in plain view. She finally looked and said "it will be a minute." She was stacking boxes! I continued to wait and then finally walked away. Went to Raley's and got my chicken salad right away. This particular location should be very careful. There is 3 groceries stores within blocks of each other. The entire staff at this location seems very unhappy there. Very sad! read more

I was in a rush for a cake for my daughters 4th birthday, my sister told me she likes getting cupcakes here, so I decided to ask about a cake. I showed the cake decorator a pic of what I wanted, they don't use fondant, but she'd do something similar with whip cream, and have it ready the next day. I was completely impressed with the end result! Not only was the cake gorgeous but also delicious and reasonably priced. read more

If I could put zero stars I would! Customer services has gone down the drain! Who in their right mind scans a cake by putting it on it's side??? Even though the frosting was squished, I mentioned it and kept the cake. But then, the entire taco kit from the deli was turned upside down and all the ingredients mixed like a salad, after just telling the guy to be careful with the cake. WTH! I made them go get me another taco kit because if I really wanted a taco salad I would have bought a taco salad. I went to Save Mart for some Romaine lettuce. I saw a few different varieties of lettuce in the produce aisle, but it was very easy to pick out the one I wanted. Why? Because I saw some bunches with "ROMAINE LETTUCE" written all over the twist-tie. That was a very nice touch I have not seen at Safeway and Raley's. I was expecting one big head of lettuce. But Save Mart sells two smaller heads of lettuce twist-tied together. When I got them home, I discovered something interesting. This was the cleanest lettuce I have ever taken home from a grocery store. Usually the first rinse produces brown water, which eventually turns clear. This was clear from the very first rinse. I've had savemart make my cakes for over 14 years. Never once had a problem. But this time, it's not the fact they messed up I get that, mistakes happen. It's their uncaring behaviour of, "I'm sorry, but, ehh it's too late now." That led to this review. I originally ordered a polkadot cake (which I coordinated all decorations around )and got a flower one. If I had wanted a flower one I could have got it from Costco for way cheaper. I had ordered a birthday cake for my sons birthday 3 weeks in advance. The evening of the day I pick up the cake it's not evenn ready or being prepared to make. Which I understand that mistakes happen. But it was a woman's attitude about the whole situation. She should understand that her customer is pissed because she has a birthday party to go to with no cake!! So with her careless/snappy attitude she said I can chose from one of the" cheapest" looking cakes not the prettier ones and she will write on it.. this wasn't my vision on how I wanted my sons cake to look which is why I ordered and paid for it in advance so I can take it fast and leave.. but no they took 20 minutes to find my order "which was in the wrong order box.." and 20 minutes to write happy birthday on it... waste of my time and patience with these older women that should know a thing or two about good customer service... read more

I usually don't review grocery stores but this place deserve a shout out. They are awesome! They are not my regular grocery store but I might have to reconsider. From the time I walked in to the time I walked out, there wasn't a single associate that did not ask if there was something they could help me with. Whether it was to get me a cart, help me find an item, get me to a quicker line this places number one priority are its customers. I usually shop at another local grocery store and those associates usually make sure not to make any eye contact so they don't have to answer any questions or have to go out of their way to help. We went out in the rain Sunday to get a Christmas tree. (It was barely sprinkling when we left home) we purchased our tree inside. By the time we were outside where the trees are located, it was pouring. Brandon was more than willing to help us pick a tree. He opened the trees we wanted to look at and put the tree on our car. My girls tried to give him a tip for his help, customer service, and can do attitude in the rain. He said that he could not take the tip. If I could give ZERO STARS for the bakery dept that's what I would give! Service in that dept sucks!!! They see you walk up and act like they didn't see you and will help you when they want to help you and on top of that with a shitty attitude when they do decide to help you! The lady tonight with the bun and pointy nose (didn't get her name) should not be working there she should be a night stalker and have no contact with customers because her customer service skills are garbage, and this is not the first time I've had rude service from her, Savemart you definitely need to put in check your bakery dept horrible people!!! Our register girl Sara was awesome and had the best customer service if anything she made up for bakery so for her I give a 5 STAR!!! Minerva has excellent customer service phone skills so I give her a 5 star as well, she is the one I complained to about bakery.
