My husband and I eat here a least once a week! We are obsessed with this place and have never gotten ANYTHING we don't like! Their prices are unbeatable, their food is ALWAYS fresh and service is friendly! Some of our favorite things are the pork bean and cheese pupusas, the blackened fish taco (my mom had recently and said it was the BEST fish taco she's ever had), the tangy cabbage slaw and the cantalope water! I travel a lot for work so yelp helps me out a lot when I want something good to eat. Well, here I am at La Placita writing this review in the parking lot. It's a real out of place spot I guess, operating out of a gas station. Wasn't sure what to expect but figured it was worth a visit with a 5 star rating. Anyway, walked in, sat myself down, waited for waiter/waitress and I order 3 pupusas, and fried platano. I was greeted with chips and salsa. The chips were stale kinda, so that made me skeptical. Salsa was good. Had a nice kick to it. Fried platano with crema was good AF. The real treat, and the most important reason as to why I came here...pupusas. They were delicious!!!! This place is fantastic. It can take awhile to get your order but that's my only complaint.

Excellent and authentic! We got great service and the staff was extremely polite and helpful. The salsa will fool you- you think it's just a basic salsa, then BAM! That heat gets you on the end! Guacamole was SO fresh and I could literally have eaten it on everything. We got a mixture of tacos, tamales, and papusas just to give everything a taste. The masa in the tamales was PERFECT! I can't stress enough how everything is so fresh and perfect bright flavors- especially in this heat! We got some flan to go and had some of the leftovers later that night. The flan wasn't the BEST we've ever had, but it good to satisfy a little bit of a sweet tooth after all those other big flavors. Monday lunch- yes don't be fooled by the outside. Come in and be greeted by the sweetest family of servers. Clients vary from retirees to office folks. A steady stream of orders going out the door. Simple, yet great Mexican and Salvadorian food. The menu is simple but it has everything that you would crave, from soups to tacos, pupusas (of course!) and housemade slaw and hot sauce to go on everything. I came here for a quick snack and grabbed a jalepeno and cheese pupusas and a chicharron pupusa. A nice little snack for about 3 bucks. This place is in an old renovated gas station. Outside looks like an orange gas station but inside looks like any other restaurant with a long shelf with dry goods. The restaurant is extremely casual. You can come in, order at the counter then sit down or seat yourself and a waitress will bring you a menu. The menu is small but still offers a decent variety of food options. My favorites are papusas and guaraches. Papusas are best described as El Salvadorian hot pockets. My favorite is the no. 4, mixed meat and cheese. And guaraches can be compared to tostadas. Except that they use a thick tortilla instead of a crispy corn tortilla used in Tex-Mex cooking. You can order everything ale carte and the prices are really reasonable. read more

Food is always amazing. Authentic and being new to the area and finding this gem is a real treat.

Love this place. There are two picnic tables for outside seating and a few spots inside to eat. If taking to-go, I suggest calling ahead because this a very popular place and they are quite busy. Revuelta pupusas, black bean dip, and fried plantains are a MUST when you go! read more

Everything is so good here. The pupusas are delicious and you can't go wrong with the tacos or the quesadillas.

OH MY GOODNESS. This place is amazing! I ordered two bistek tacos and they had the perfect amount of spice to them. Didn't even need extra salsa which happens to be amazing as well. Ordered some guacamole to start and we basically licked the bowl. I was feeling super hungry so I also got a pupusa cause of all the reviews and man I did not regret it! On top of the wonderful food the staff was so sweet. They came and checked on us multiple times (we sat outside) and made sure we had everything we needed. I'll be back for sure! read more

Excellent food plain and simple! The restaurant serves pupusas, tacos, burritos, and tamales. My group tried a sampling from each category and everything was universally delicious!
