I have been to Garcia's Mexican kitchen and the shed and la choza so I thought I'd try somewhere different. The day before, my visitors and I had eaten at La Reforma in Albuquerque and the two experiences couldn't be more different. The food at La Reforma was excellent. An all-around great local spot. I've been here numerous times, usually for takeout, and I have never been disappointed. Chilaquiles, enchiladas, fajitas, and the green chile cheeseburgers are all delicious, even the pork ribs were a tasty surprise for a Mexican restaurant. Absolutely delicious! Reasonably priced, good service, and the food was awesome. We had the chips with 2 salsas (a traditional red & a green that we think included poblano chili & avocado), and we shared the Salvadorian tamales with chicken, Christmas style. The tamales were perfectly tender & moist, the sauces were yummy with a little kick, and they came with great green rice, refried black beans, and pickled veggies. The pickled veggies could have been a little more pickled for our taste, but they were still enjoyable. The tamale plate was definitely enough food for two. Would totally come back again!! read more

We have been frequenting this eatery for 4 years now and while they have some good dishes, the menu and the weekly specials never change. After awhile it gets old..at least we now have some other dining choices. For me there are several issues......the cheese is not real cheese, pre-sliced "plastic" cheese, the use of straws, should be a requested item or the newer eco-friendly straws, and they freeze the desserts and serve them basically frozen. The Sunday buffet is mediocre at best, and then they close. They might try being open Sunday for dinner and close on Mondays. A smaller menu with real weekly specials would be great. read more

This place was a surprisingly nice place to eat. On the outside it's rather unassuming. It's located in a sort of retail/strip center place a mile or so off of I-25. A little hard to find, but worth it. The food being a mix of New Mexican and South American, was really very tasty. Prices were reasonable. If you are driving I-25 are hungry and find yourself north or going north of Santa Fe, do yourself a favor and stop here and eat. In my opinion it's a better dining option than struggling with the traffic and road construction going on in Santa Fe. read more

Friendly, kind and consistent staff. The absolute BEST NACHOS (HUGE PORTIONS) in town! Fresh, with or without meat, wonderful. We enjoy them with ice cold IPAs :) Their burgers and fries are also a favorite weekend treat. Add green chile and cheese to the fries...portions are HUGE...you might want to share :) The Sunday brunch is also a favorite, especially with friends and family. Been to this restaurant numerous times (30). Most of their dishes are ok - good. They often overcook poultry. The shrimp entree is good. Rice seems instant / blah. They entire staff often seems STRESED out and sometimes unfriendly / not engaged w patrons. Weird vibe. read more

I really am a fan. I live in the neighborhood and feel so lucky to have La Plancha nearby to dine in and carry out. In fact, I just brought home their Latin Paella and am savoring it as I'm writing this review. I love their chipotle fettucini with shrimp, their chicken mole, camarones al mojo de ajo (shrimp with a garlic mole sauce) and so many other dishes. After having recently written a not-very-happy review of a "high-altitude" (literally) and extremely high-priced restaurant in Santa Fe, I thought to myself while driving home with my piping hot paella, that it was time for me to acknowledge here on Yelp that La Plancha is tried and true; they rarely disappoint. Service is generally excellent and friendly, the servings are generous and the flavors are divine. Having spent a painful $170 for two dinners recently at the high-altitude, spa restaurant, I'm happy to report, and to remember, that there's no place like home, or close to home, which for me is Eldorado. My $21 meal from La Plancha (including tax and tip) is SO much better than my $80+ meal at the snooty, tourist restaurant nestled near the hot tubs. ¡Qué viva La Plancha! read more

I'm a local and I eat here all the time. The food is great, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. If you're traveling on I-25 past exit 290, take the time to stop in Eldorado and eat here. Beats fast food, hands down. Can be a little loud when there's live music. Management should be a little more hands-on about the musicians' amps. read more

We found this small unassuming restaurant close to our campground. Dinner was as good but probably better than the popular restaurants we ate at in the historic parts of Old Town on Santa Fe. I had the chicken mole enchilada with green rice and fresh vegetables and it was fantastic. My husband had the 1/2 pound bison burger cooked exactly as requested. We ordered dessert which was a disappointment but our server took it off of our bill. A musician played guitar quietly as we ate. read more

Four stars for take out! We had the most delicious pupusas, enchiladas, and tamales we've had in a long time and we know about those kinds of things. Especially appreciated were the pupusas, some with loroco (a kind of flower bud) and some with chicharones. So, so good. Delicious , crispy curtido on the side and really friendly service. This was by far the BEST restaurant we went to in all of Santa Fe. I had the Suisas Enchiladas with chicken. They were amazing! Topped with a salsa, guacamole and sour cream and with green rice and black beans in the side, they were perfect. We were overjoyed to see this restaurant open up in Eldorado. We have traveled to Central America several times and this restaurant serves the real thing - no Tex Mex here. What makes this place special is not that it is Mexican but that it is Salvadoran cuisine, unique and well prepared. Authentic Central American dishes in generous portions for reasonable prices were a real surprise, and I think would make the drive out from Santa Fe worth the trip. Great local option in El Dorado at Santa Fe. Central American dishes, with Mexican and New Mexican offerings. Shrimp dishes are good, as is the potato side and green rice. Wine and Beer license, but try a Marguerita made with agave wine. A bit too sweet for my taste, but my wife loves 'em! read more

This gem is now a local and travelers favorite in Santa Fe. Juan Carlos is the owner and chef of this true family restaurant. It is a Latin Grill with increadably fresh and tasty food. Open for breakfast lunch and dinner with a strong varied menu. It is all about flavor, not hot spicy food. Everyone in Eldorado (about 15 minutes outside Santa Fe) loved this place now. I was tempted to give it five stars, but I don't think that's fair unless I've been there more than once. And I WILL go back. We were there tonight, New Year's Eve, and the food was terrific, the drinks big, and the service charming. We are planning to spend the remainder of the evening at home here in Eldorado and so didn't want to go into the city and wrestle with the crowds at Blue Whatever or Santa Doo-dad. We appreciate that they'd bring a sip of wine to one of our party who wasn't sure if he'd like it.great red-and-green-sauce, which Santa Feans insist on, as well as a complex, well-done mole that rang true for me. Fajitas, both chicken and beef, were worth sampling. Good, good, very fresh guacamole. Tres leches cake and flan were both top-notch. Really good food, really reasonable prices, friendly service, beer and wine served in a jeans and tee shirt kind of vibe. Comfortable and easy. You can find us here pretty regularly. For the area we weren't expecting anything special do to the amount of Mexican food restaurants, however the dishes here are unique. I'm not a fan of the classic bland beans and rice on the side but they served black beans and a cilantro rice that's amazing!
