Absolutely incredible! New Mexican Stacked Enchiladas Christmas Style were Incredible! The best chips and salsa I have ever had! Incredible margaritas!

I had the sour cream enchiladas and it was DELICIOUS! The homemade corn tortillas were covered with sauce, cheese, sour cream, and I added chicken. I had 2 different margaritas were not very good and they hardly give me a buzz. The inside of La Posta is beautiful, though! I gave it a 4 star rating, because of the margaritas.

Let's start off by saying its very pretty & festive. Walking in really makes you feel like you're definitely going to have a good time. I got started with a sangria, received complimentary chips & spicy salsa, and went with green enchiladas. The sangria tasted like cough syrup, probably the worst i've ever had. I barely had a sip & requested it to be changed for a michelada. When in NM you gotta try green chile dishes, so I went for the green enchiladas, the waitress suggested to upgrade to chicken for a few extra bucks, i agreed. My dish was delicious, but had very little chicken, only like 3 pieces, I've had enchiladas many times before, not what I expected. However- the green chile sauce was excellent, the dish came with a generous portion or rice & beans. When i got the bill they did charge me for the Sangria, i asked about it, and they said they did a 'same price substitution', but the michelada was half the price of the Sangria... so not sure if that was a fair practice? I expected for the Sangria not to be on the bill, and to be charged for the Michellada.. I would recommend it, it is a nice place, but would order different dishes next time..

My wife and I had visitors from out of town and they wanted to go to La Posta for dinner. We had stopped going there because the food quality has gone down since we began going there 10 years ago. Our visit was last night and it was really disappointing. The food is always lukewarm never hot. My wife ordered Cheese Enchiladas, our visitors one quesadilla and the other one shrimp tacos. I had a Chile Relleno Burrito that came with a side of rice. In the past we have had complimentary sopapillas but not this time. The rice was dry so overcooked. Mexican rice is so easy to prepare that it is hard to mess up, but they did it. It was the worse meal my wife and I have had in Las Cruces, no good seasoning. I didn't complain because our visitors chose the place. It is a shame that such a historic charming restaurant has terrible food. There is no excuse that because it is a large place they quality is bad. We have eaten in more larger restaurants with great consistency of the quality of their food. You just need to have an executive chef to properly lead the large kitchen team. None of our friends go there unless they are dragged by their family and friends visiting our town. The only saving grace was the wonderful service by JP. Adios La Posta.

I really like stopping here when passing through Las Cruces. The food is always good and the drinks are great. It's normally pretty busy so you have to have some patience but we always have great service

We needed a restaurant to host 30 people for a lunch, post funeral. The team in charge of fulfilling our needs via reservation was amazing. They knew of the perfect, private room for us, printed adorable customized prefixed menus and had very attentive waiters during our service. I highly recommend reserving a room here for larger parties. Especially during this trying time for our family, they made this event so easy. Thank you!

A trip through Las Cruces must Always include at stop at La Posta. The restaurant is huge with all of the themed dinning rooms. The restaurant is well maintained, considering its age. I was promptly seated and the chips & salsa arrived almost immediately. The wait staff were fast and efficient with my food arriving quickly. Everything was hot and flavorful. I have been coming to La Posta for over 30-years, whether on business in town or roadtrips. Overall, this is still a great choice for the food, the service and the ambiance...and fond memories too.

Disappointing dining on this trip out to La Posta de Mesilla. I ordered the chimichanga plate and it was just awful! The flour tortilla was tough as leather and the shredded beef was a block of salt. My daughter's shrimp tacos wee extremely spicy. She had to have them returned and the replacement plate had no sauce. The service was very good, but I wish I thinks were better.

What better than eating at a historical building? Delicious food, exotic animals. This place has everything needed for a good time. Passed by Mesilla and definitely had to make a stop here for lunch. It's located in a historical 18th century stagecoach station and has all the charm. Once you walk in there are shops on either side before you reach the restaurant itself. Be sure to take a look at the jewelry store and the general store for chili goodies. Service is warm and prompt Love the complimentary chips and salsa that they brought out right away. Very efficient! I had the enchilada plate which was so delicious. Portions are HUGE. For 16 dollars this was both my lunch and dinner for the day which was a steal. Not to mention super delicious as well. Sauce is so tasty. The Mexican slaw was my second favorite item on the plate. Overall a great stop if you're in the area. Must visit!

History stop! Go here if you want to see this remaining post/ change stop on the Butterfield Trail from the 1800s. It had since been turned into a restaurant/bar. It is well known, so make a reservation if you can. You will also find yourself waiting a bit at the front to be sat, at your table for your server, and for your food/drink to arrive so plan accordingly. This last visit, we sat in the bar and had a margarita. The jalapeño and cucumber margarita was accompanied by a rim of honey and crushed pecans. This was by far an amazing experience for my mouth! Great place, great history! Be sure to check it out when you're in historical Mesilla!

This restaurant is super cute. Not much parking if it's busy but luckily it wasn't when we got there. The skinny margs were excellent but expensive. The chips are a bit greasy and my quesadillas were very greasy. All of it was tasty though. Waiter was excellent. A little steep on prices for what you get.

Great food, fast and friendly service. Portions matched pricing. Awesome history to this building, as well as the surrounding square and neighborhood. The square was decorated for Christmas.

I added a salad for an extra $4.95. The restaurant overall looked clean and had nice seating. The salad from the salad bar was good and there were a lot of options to choose from. The green chile wontons were just okay. The cream cheese inside was dry and rough in texture, and the wonton itself was dry too -- it seemed like they had been sitting out on the warmer. The chicken/chicken fried steak was good, but I had to add salt and pepper because the breading and gravy didn't seem to have much seasoning. The mashed potatoes were great and seasoned well. The onion rings were very thin and greasy. If I would have known they were like that, I wouldn't have ordered them. At the end I got a fruit salad from the salad bar and it was flavorful and creamy. Overall my experience wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best either. My server Daniel was great and friendly, which made the experience better. I'd rate the food a 3 out of 5.

We went in at peak dinnertime but were seated right away. It looked like everyone else waiting had big groups of people but it was just two of us so we were seated near the bar. We started with the cactus blossom and it was really good. I haven't had one of these in years (maybe the last time was at a Chili's, but I can't remember). I ordered the blue lemonade and it was mildly sweet but it didn't have any flavor. I ordered the Roadkill for my appetizer. It was ground sirloin with mushrooms, grilled onions, and jack cheese on top. It was pretty good. My sides were the steak fries and the corn. My companion ordered the prime rib. We weren't sure it was available tonight as the waitress said they usually don't serve it on Sundays but for some reason it was on the menu tonight. My companion had a side salad and the chili as well. Everything was good. We had more than enough bread rolls because the staff kept bringing them out to us. The bread was good but by the time we got our entrees we were already stuffed. I couldn't finish my fries and I didn't even touch the corn so I took everything home in a to-go box. The bill was a little over $60 and for two people that's a pretty good deal for the quality and the amount of food we received. We had a good experience and I'd visit again sometime but based on other reviews it looks like everything is hit or miss. We were fortunate to be here on a good night.

She started berating customers to ... a customer. She kept talking down on how her customers don't tip , and if someone goes out to eat they better tip 20 percent or not go out at all. And how she has to tip out to her dishwashers or bar and she needs to be paid. This went on for like 4-5 minutes and really took away from us just wanting to relax. The board - Pretzel Pasto - came with a variety of cheeses and meats which are changed up frequently by the chef, so definitely ask what will be on the board if you have allergies or preferences. Fruits and delicious olives were also part of the board as was some very tasty queso. Topping it all off was the chocolate chips that melted by being embraced by the baked pretzel - delightful. This is a great board that can actually be your meal for the evening. When in Las Cruces, you must try all things that have green chile, since the board did not come with chiles, we had to order the mac and cheese. Of course this was amazing and I considered ordering a second bowl for the table. Our server was very friendly and checked in on us often. He was very accommodating when we asked to exchange the raspberries on our charcuterie platter for a different item. The Pretzel Pasto is amazing! A giant pretzel serves as the vessel for the chef's selection of meats and cheeses, along with fresh fruit, chocolate chips that melt like frosting on the hot pretzel, and gooey delicious queso. We also split a small bowl of the green chile mac and cheese and regretted not getting a larger bowl. For dessert, the creme brulee bombo was unlike anything I have had--an Italian puffed donut filled with cream, but this cream was bruleed on top with a thick, crisp layer like creme brulee, so it was like having two desserts in one. It came with a side of prickly pear syrup, but I chose to skip that. Excellent experience at Salud! de Mesilla.
