Overdue Post Unprofessional, rude, and racist. LA Press Printing lacks customer service. Unfortunately, I trusted this company to print stationery for my wedding reception. Had I known that Sean, the owner, would provide such rude service, I would have never entrusted him with the job. When I first met Sean to discuss my vision, he appeared kind and interested in my business and answered my questions. Communication also flowed smoothly via email until I picked up my stationery. One of Sean's employees, who designed my table cards and welcome sign, went on vacation and failed to inform him of the changes. Sean could not initially locate the updated sample to print from and became quite frustrated and irritated. My wedding was in 6 days, and I needed everything completed on time. The moment I started asking questions and expressing concerns, Sean became furious, yelling profanities at me and demanding that I get the F.......... out of his business. Sadly, he chose this behavior over providing customer service. Sean also threatened to throw away all my essential stationery, for which I had already paid a deposit. This was not only stressful but also upsetting and disappointing. I was so distraught, felt violated, and was in tears. I no longer felt safe and called the police. Sean's wife overheard and tried to comfort me. This type of behavior from a business is unacceptable. Consumers should not be mistreated or discriminated against. Businesses are responsible for welcoming all guests in a safe and professional environment. It is disrespectful to be treated in this manner. I'm sure whoever reads my post would not want this man disrespecting their wife, mother, sister, or anyone else. I do not recommend this business, and I'm unsure why they do not value customer service. read more

I would like to start by saying this is my first yelp review. I felt compelled to make my stance clear on this hole in the wall that should be closed permanently. After working with Sean and Ceasar for a decade I felt I had a rapport built of quality and respect. Yesterday I found otherwise. It's time for Sean to retire. I had a close business partner stop by to approve a print (which is often wrong on initial print) and Sean told him to leave, kicked him out and treated us both like dogs. He offered no explanation and acted as if we had insulted him by pointing out the errors in the deck. If I felt confident in their ability to print and ship without errors I wouldn't have had someone there to approve them in the first place.....that being said, I have recommended countless people to this establishment because of the mom and pop nature, general efficiency, and flexibility. I will never again. Sean should be embarrassed of how little control he has over his emotions. Benjamin Franklin, godfather of printing in this nation, coined the phrase errata as print errors meant to be fixed in the next addition. Clearly Sean feels he invented the printing press. I would encourage him to take a walk every now and then and read some history. Really really good service. Cesar was very attentive to what I needed. Basically I 'we-transferred' my 10 pdf files to him to print, one of which was a larger pdf. He responded to the we-transfer auto-generated email right away, making sure he understood my order [wetransfer.com is just a file transfer service, follow your nose]. Pretty straight forward. He asked if I needed a staple on all of them, which I did. But then he surprised me: the larger pdf file was actually designed to be printed as a booklet, with a cover page for front and back which connects. Anyway, he didn't even ask if I wanted to printed it out as a booklet, that opens like a book with the staples in the middle -- he just did it for the first one !!! He checked in with me via a phone call and text, to check if I wanted them all like that.... I said "Hell yes!!". He texted a couple of photo's clarifying what he meant. Absolute legend. [It was a booklet by Tom Cowan, author of "The Contagion Myth".] Cesar was very attentive, responsive and gave me a timeframe when it would be ready so I didn't just waste time by going down there and waiting. They were very busy, so that was appreciated.... said it would be ready by noon, and this was from a 10:30am or so request. Oh also, you will not beat the prices here. 5c per page black and white.... it's cheaper than not printing [lmao]. Bottom line: Quality service and a very competitive price. Most outstanding!!! I sent an image that was too low res, but they printed it anyway to show that it turned out blurry. Then we finally got the high res image. I was then charged for both the one I was taking with me and the bad blurry one. I told the manager that I didn't want the blurry one, and I asked why they printed it if they knew it was blurry. Then when I went to the frame store, I saw that the printed image was damaged from not drying in time. Anyway, Cesar is fantastic and it was great working with him. He worked with my very tight turnaround and short notice due to a funeral. I just wasn't thrilled with management and being charged for the unused print. read more

The owner of the company just hung up the phone on me. I received a quote 2 weeks ago to print, stuff envelopes, and mail around 1000 letters which included postage. The total was over $1,300, which was a little on the high side in my opinion, but I thought that the job would be done in a couple of days instead of weeks. I called last week to speak with Cesar, the employee that sent me the quote and who was helping me, and I never got a return call. I called this morning to check the status and was informed that postage would be an additional $350 due to a miscalculation on their end. I didn't agree with the additional charge as I got a quote, signed work order, and gave them my credit card. When I asked to speak with the owner Cesar got him on the phone. The owner said the original quote was an error and he wasn't going to cover the additional postage. I went as far as to offer to split the difference as I am now 2 weeks behind my original timeline and just wanted to get the job done. The owner got angry and said he will no longer be doing any of the orders and hung up on me. BUYER BEWARE, this company lacks professionalism, follow-up, as well as the insight to accurately quote a print job. read more

Truth is, there's nothing glamorous about print shops, let alone reviewing 'em, but when you need a good one to frequently do big jobs and don't care to pay with your first born at some chain, it's serious shiz. I'm always on the lookout for reliable and reasonable vendors and I think I hit gold here. Right from the start, proprietor Sean was kind and helpful and the quote they gave me on a large job beat out all of the other local shops I tried by a mile. When all was said and done, my job was finished just right, not to mention, overnight. They even went to the trouble of specially shrink wrapping all of my postcards into smaller manageable bundles and even printed some extras for me at no charge. I ended up paying less than half than I would've at Kinkos and for better quality and service. Not to mention, the pleasure of supporting a local biz and getting to stick it to the man. (I do love sticking it to the man.) For all of your printing needs, these guys come highly recommended. The only drawback is that they're not open late or on the weekends, but with a little planning and their super fast service, that's a non-issue. They do all sorts of printing in addition to large format banners and graphic design, so they're pretty much a one-stop-shop. You can even email your files over for an instant quote. Where to begin with theses guys... I needed business cards for a very important event on Thursday night. I spoke to Chuck at LA Press Printing over the phone and he advised me, "yes I will be able to get those made for you by Thursday after 3. I was so excited! In perfect time for my event right? First, the color of the cards were incorrectly designed. I provided them with the exact cmyk burgundy for my card and when I picked up the temporary cards on Wednesday they were brown. The designer said "well, black and red make brown". I was very disappointed so I took the cards and my original design to another print press and the guys there looked at me in shock. Unfortunately, I couldn't do anything about the color and I still needed professional detailed business cards by Thursday. So thursday around 1pm I hadn't received a call or email, so right before I left to pick up the cards, I called to confirm they were ready and I was told 2/3 of the cards weren't even put on the press. I get an email today telling me they are still finishing. I do understand sometimes mistakes happen, but what baffles me most is that no ownership or apology was even given. What a joke. read more

Honestly, this company doesn't deserve any stars. I ordered one (1) employee badge to be printed for myself. Corresponded with one of their employees over the phone, emailed the pdf file, and picked up the badge the next day (they said an 1.5 hours, but I was working at the time). Upon picking up my badge, they printed a large "press-pass" version of it due to me not specifying the size. No problem, my mistake. I spoke with one man (man #1) and described how I wanted it done, within the dimensions of a standard business card. The shop was closing soon, but man #1 was still willing to fix it for me. Man #1 went back to the original pdf file, re-sized it, fixed some other things, and printed it. And it was perfect.. However, another man to the print cut the badges (1 sheet of 4 badges) in the back the same man #2 (Mister cut man) brought me the finished product (s) and two of the rounded edges were cut horribly. The were cut too far inward, and no where near "rounded" anymore. As I'm looking at this rushed-garbage of a job, man #2 says "Yes, now it's time to pay." I asked him how can he have an attitude with me, and I'm still paying for this? That's crazy. That evening, I emailed the shop explaining the rushed cutting job, and also placing yet another order for the same badge to be printed and cut correctly. That's it. That's all. Very simple. This request turned into a serious of back & forth emails about "Your artwork is bad, there's no bleeds, it needs to be re-sized, etc." I still don't understand how this guy didn't understand that THE BADGE WAS PERFECT, UNTIL YOUR EMPLOYEE RUSHED IN CUTTING THE BADGES. If the said file has rounded edges, then guess what, it's supposed to be cut along those edges. Not in-ward, not jagged. When I called the next day to confirm my order, they claimed to have not seen the email that morning... I requested to speak with man #1 who helped me the previous day. Man #1 did not seem to care about his rude employee (in which he was no more than 10 feet away from the desk when it happened), and he STILL DID NOT understand what I wanted. He went on to tell me that MY ARTWORK is bad and that's why the edges were cut that way. Then he refused to do the job. This company is a joke. read more

I emailed him a very detailed list including pictures, font, logos in various format and even a color palette. They never replied. Affordable place to satisfy all your printing needs. This is very much a mom and pop type of operation, but that's why it's more affordable than the near by staples, office depot and fedex. The service is friendly and they are prompt in getting you quotes for your job. I printed out 100 sheets of half sized menu paper and they were able to fill that order in 2 hours. Though the quality wasn't as good as I had hoped for (and as you would get in the other chain stores), the price point, the speed and the cuts of the paper were good. Parking is terrible as most places in the area. There is a drug store across the street that will allow 30 min parking in their lot. read more

The price they gave me was LESS THAN HALF of what anyone else was quoting. Okay, I said to myself after catching my breath, but probably it's going to take forever. 15 minutes after I emailed the PDF, I called to make sure they got it okay. Yes we did, said Sean, and they're all done and ready for you. Blink. Yes, the early hours could be inconvenient, but seriously, with that kind of turnaround, I am not complaining at all. I feel so fortunate to have found this place. I was looking for someone to print my wedding invitation that our friend in NY drew us. It was extremely hard to find someone, even here in town, who had the paper and equipment to print as thick as we wanted. (One place in Beverly Hills could, for a fortune.) It was seeming like we'd have to send out to an online printer, which was not ideal for this job -- we needed somewhat of a fast turnaround. Then we found Sean at LA Press. Sean was knowledgable, he had suggestions, the prices were reasonable, and he was fast. We had the invitations back in a few days, and they are beautiful. Obviously, the better prepared you are, the easier it will be for him -- before going to him, we had a PDF transparency that was the right size, and we changed the color levels in Photoshop until we had a test print that looked right to us that we could leave with him. Because LA Press was closed, I stood in FedEx across the street shaking my head. They could not remotely create the professional presentation I needed for my clients. The high standard I was use to with LA Press was lost in these (self proclaimed) printing masterminds. I stood there point my finger across the street (in an old man kinda way). Telling this blue uniformed employee that those guys run circles around you. When they couldn't even get the same color as my actual document I gave up. I may sound like a commercial right now, but LA Press is no joke! They are cheap and better, far better than FedEx. read more

As someone who was in LA to sell art prints at a convention, I was just panicking as to where to go to do last-minute prints as I had run low on stock on the second day of the con. My friend brought me to LA Press Printing and the staff here were just amazing! They were professional but friendly, and accommodated my every request. They have a very reasonable "rush delivery" price - I was amazed they got my print job done WHILE I was there! I requested hundreds of postcards, which were printed, trimmed, packaged, and delivered to me within the hour. Awesome service, good print quality, would definitely recommend them! Just be warned - they are NOT open on the weekends, so plan projects accordingly! I came back on Saturday because I was so pleased with the prints and wanted to do a couple more, but to my great sadness they were closed, haha! I wish I could smack my head on a wall, accidentally travel back in time, and tell my former self to STOP GOING TO FEDEX ACROSS THE STREET BECAUSE THEY ARE CRUEL AND SENSELESS AND LA PRESS PRINTING IS the opposite of that. Cesar is amazing, patient and very helpful, loved working with him. However, the owner is rude, unfriendly, aggressive and mostly violent. He not only screamed at me for being mildly annoyed that the person helping me was going to be another 45 minutes late ( I already patiently waited 30 minutes prior to the 45 minutes) But he chased me out of the store screaming because I told him not to yell at me and that he was being so unprofessional. It doesn't even merit 1 star for the way I was treated. I'm sure I will be welcomed anywhere else with my business. read more

LA Press Printing is amazing! I was searching for a place to print a small job for a class project and I was pleased to find that LA Press Printing has no minimum order requirement. I emailed them and they promptly responded. Ask for Cesar's help! He is a graphics guru and can help you adjust your file for printing. This place is a million times better than printing at the library or at kinkos. It was also affordable and fast--I printed on glossy paper for 60 cents each. Because LA Press Printing has such a quick turnaround, I now have an excuse to print many copies of my obnoxious holiday card to send to my loved ones.
