I had bad experience with La Quinta in another state before so I wasn't expecting that much when we book this hotel. This La Quinta, I think, is fairly new, hence the slightly-higher-than-usual rates. But I think it's all worth it. Everything is clean in the room, and the whole hotel in general. There are also plenty of stores and restaurants nearby so that's a plus. Would definitely recommend or consider staying again in the future, if ever we stop by Spokane again. P.S. We appreciate their warm welcome for military. They provided two bottles of water, snacks and a sweet note. read more

Even though we arrived early, the front desk was excellent and was able to check us into a great room that had just opened up. The Executive King room was a very good size, with ample storage, a mini fridge, microwave, desk, sofa, ottoman, table, and two decent sized televisions. The bathroom was a water closet with just the commode and shower/tub combination, while the sink and counter were just outside in the room's hallway. There was ample counter space to use as a vanity and a nice large mirror for getting ready. My room was exceptionally clean. I do check corners and lift the mattress in every hotel room I stay in and I did not see anything suspect. Everything looked and smelled new, and I did not see dusty fixtures or dirty corners. The only thing I did observe during my stay was one very long blonde hair on one of the towels and finger prints on the card from housekeeping, although I do admit the irony on the latter gave me a good laugh. There was a fair amount of parking in well lit areas, and the neighborhood seemed alright. It was a bit of a drive from I-90, especially with all of the road construction, but if you need to stay in northern Spokane I recommend this hotel. The best surprise for this property was the pool and hot tub. I did not have time to go myself but it is open 24 hours! If you're looking to relax at the pool without children this is a major bonus being able to go down after they're all tucked in. read more

We always try to stay at this family-friendly pet-friendly affordable hotel chain when we're on road trips. We've stayed at their Eugene location and their Spokane Valley location. This north Spokane location delivered the same consistent quality and value we have come to expect from La Quinta. Their complimentary breakfast was very well done. Coffee, assorted creamers, assorted juices, waffle machines, eggs, sausage, various breads to toast, muffins and gluten free cereals round out the offering. Everything was well stocked and service attendants were helpful. They did struggle to keep up with the sudden onslaught a 40 person swim team delivered one morning so I deducted one star for not preparing accordingly. The pool and hot tub were wonderful. My kids enjoyed that feature a lot. Parking was easy. This is a pet-friendly hotel so I didn't mind hearing an occasional woof or two. If that bugs you, you may want to stay elsewhere. Our room did have a stale smoke scent when we first walked in which is disappointing since all rooms are supposed to be non-smoking so it'd be great if they invested in air cleaning technology or more thoroughly shampoo the carpets to erase the evidence of the inconsiderate guests who don't follow the rules. The location is great, surrounded by tons of restaurants, grocery stores, quickie marts. Anything you forgot on your trip is nearby. read more

Seriously awesome hotel! Probably one of the nicest in Spokane. I just spent one night here. We were able to check in early like around 1230...sweet! The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. They also serve fresh cookies from 1900-2100...bonus! The lobby is very nice and the rooms are also nice. The beds are super comfy. There is even a fridge and microwave in the room! Bathrooms are on the small side, but that was ok! Rooms were very clean and decorated nicely. Breakfast is served every day. There is a waffle iron for you to use, yum! Other options included cereal, yogurt, eggs & biscuits and gravy. Not a bad spread. If I happened to be in the area I would stay here again. read more

Stayed here two nights to visit Spokane with a friend. Stay was July 2-4, one king sized bed with a couch. I had one dog with me. I arrived very late (maybe 11pm-ish) from driving immediately after work. I was tired and check in was quick. The guy who checked me in (the name escapes me) was extremely nice and upbeat. He offered me a cookie but I am trying to limit my sugar. Lobby was gorgeous, warm and inviting. Exercise room was amazing...lots of new equipment with add ons including weight balls and floor pads. Those little things go a long way. Pool room was nice but a little small. We used the hot tub one time and tried to play a card game while in there but the room was so small...the kids who were playing in the pool had their yells echoing so it was futile to play the game. No big deal. Room I had was very large, corner of the hotel, on the first floor near an exit (bonus!) and quiet. The first night was bliss...slept well. Second night, not nearly as well since the people above me kept stomping around till 3 am!!! I thought maybe there were kids but now that I think back, it may have been dogs running back and forth. Lesson learned: do not request room on first floor anymore. Room had all brand new furnishings and appliances. All new smells mixed together created a rather odd smell in the room...think new carpet, new paint, new furnishings, new fridge, new sheets, etc all mixed together. Just a little too overwhelming for my taste. I got over it though. Bed was overwhelmingly comfortable. Couch was one of those microfiber ones. I grabbed some wrapped muffins on the way out but did not try the rest of the options (I bring my own food). Fridge was waist height and nice. Normal microwave. I don't drink coffee but I think there was a Keurig knock off in the room. Plenty of outlets near the bed for phones and lap tops. One odd thing for a one bed room...two TV's. One in front of the couch and the other in front of the bed. There was no wall separation of the couch area to the bed so if you had two different channels on at once, I would assume it would be annoying. Maybe people don't want to watch the TV by the bed if they eat at the couch? An unnecessary luxury for myself...but first world problems. All in all, I would definitely stay again. If I end up in the area, I will choose this LQ first. It was cheaper than the others in the area but I think those prices will soon inflate once people see how nice it is... Also, they give treats and pick-up bags to the dog owners at check in. A nice touch most other LQ's do not provide. AWESOME! We stayed here for five nights to prepare our daughter's move-in to Whitworth University (they have a discounted rate for Whitworth families). The location is absolutely perfect, just a couple minutes away from campus. Dorm/clothes shopping can be done within a 10-15 minute radius, and there are lots of places to eat. We were impressed by the modern decor and cozy feeling of the lobby and rooms. Beautiful framed photographs of Riverfront Park and Riverside National Park created a gallery in the hallway. Our room on the first floor was spacious, comfortable, and rather quiet on the opposite end from the pool. The necessities are provided: free WiFi, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator (no freezer!), tv, washing machine & dryer access, and computer/printer access. The bed lamp had built-in USB ports and the alarm clock had various cables attached. It was nice to plug the audio cable into my phone to play our own music. Also, they have a little store in the lobby that stocks snacks and a small variety of items. Customer service is excellent. Their friendly staff made us feel right at home. Armando at the front desk was helpful and accommodating, a really great guy. He really took care of us after our long flight from Hawaii and got us comfortably settled in our room. The nice lady who set up the breakfast items every morning kept everything filled. We were so thankful for the full breakfast they provided - it saved us a lot of time and money so that we could focus on our mission. Very highly recommend. Didn't get to finish my review and Yelp didn't make getting back to it easy. (Oh, no! Now I have to Yelp Yelp!) La Quinta at the Y is really good. I owned a house cleaning company for many years and I white glove any hotel room I stay in.... flying colors. A+. I would hire anyone from housekeeping in a second . The virus had closed down the breakfast bar, but staff had us fill out a wish list for what we would like in the morning. We were given a packed brown bag( milk money not included!)...not waffles or orange juice, but customer care all the same. Front desk could be a little friendlier ( I live in this town...we are very nice.) Good place to stay...good value, clean and comfortable. read more

We got into the room after driving 4 hours and wanted to lay in our beds. Well, there waa yellowish hard spot on the bed sheets. We called down to guest services to get them to change the bedding. After they did that, we found brown spots on the NEW blanket they brought to the room. When we called the housekeeper back she had a bad attitude, like we were annoying her. The next day (our checkout day) we told the front desk chick and all she said was I'll tell them to change the sheets from now on. No concern from her and another employee with a bad attitude about it. No offer of discount or even an apology for it. The hotel was very nice and we were excited to stay. I probably won't stay at this location again but may give the chain another chance in the future. Mind you, I've worked in the hotel business for over 5 years... I know how the system works. Stayed here for 3 days and had an absolutely wonderful experience! The staff was so helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is lovely, modern and clean. The 24 hour pool/hot tub was the topping on the cake! There was nothing better than coming back to relax in the hot tub after a long, tiring day. We originally booked a room at another hotel but unfortunately we were not aware that their pool was under construction. That is where La Quinta comes in. We drove down to their property and were glad to find out they had rooms available AND a working, 24 hour pool. They saved me from some disappointed kiddos who where looking forward to swimming. The young lady at the front desk was super nice and helpful and offered us some goodies for our stay. We got two packages with 2 waters, a bag of popcorn, fruit leather and a protein bar. My 7 year old son swore we were VIPs. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. The complementary breakfast in the morning had something for us all and a great way to start our day. When we checked out that day my son asked if we could come back and be VIPs again. I highly recommend a stay here. It was casual, easy and accommodating at a great price. read more

This place looked nice, but there were major problems. The hotel room smelled like foot, the a.c. sounded like some kind of alien space ship taking off, we asked the front desk to take a look at it, but the problem got worse and louder. There is no sound insulation on the doors and walls at all. So when there were screaming children out in the halls from 10pm to 3am, you have no buffer at all. Then there are people upstairs stomping around till 1am and because of there being no insulation, it is loud as hell. I talked to the front desk the next day about all this and received 11 bucks off the 150 dollar bill. I would not expect this bad of a stay st a motel 6, let alone at a la quinta... the experience was terrible. Seems like the hotel was built cheap and fast and didn't properly insulate their rooms. Went down to breakfast Memorial Day to find out it was over a half hour prior. Again another front desk clerk mess up. She told us 9:30 and it ended at 9:00. Can't believe facility allowed a little girls birthday party in the pool, in which we could not enjoy the hot tub because of all the screaming (about 10 girls around 7 years old). When asked receptionist about their stay, she said none of them where staying in the hotel. The party was approved by the general manger. Nice location, Friendly receptionist but the breakfast is horrible. Oatmeal is usually too watery, minimal items to add on top of it, eggs are barely tolerable and again no extras to put on top of it. No fresh cut fruit. The bathrooms are so small you can hardly sit on the toilet without closing the door. The tissues are extremely rough and harsh, especially if you have a cold and are using a lot of them. I was disappointed & it was disgusting to see a blood spot on the sheets & dog hair on the comforter. These maids need to stop being lazy & change the sheets! This place is great!! We stayed here for the weekend while we helped our little cousin move into her college dorm room and everything is newly renovated and clean. The room was pretty spacious with a king bed and a pullout sofa bed which was perfect for 4 adults. They have hot breakfast every morning consisting of waffles, oatmeal, eggs, sausages, etc. The staff are super nice and helpful and really do try to go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be. This place is definitely my go to spot now whenever I'm in Spokane. read more

Wonderfully clean and beautiful room. Comfortable. Lots of floor space. One can even set up the ironing board and its not in the way! Two TVs, and not even a suite. But it did have a "suite" feeling to the space. And we learned that all La Quinta hotels accept dogs! Yay! Only minus we can list is the squeaky floors overhead. Regular foot traffic caused a LOT of noise. Didn't help that those guests were still walking around at midnight. However, the noise stopped after the front desk responded to our complaint and the noise then ceased. I would suggest requesting a top floor room for a more quiet experience. Yummy breakfast! I forgot an item in the room and the manager, Katherine, was most helpful and went the extra mile to find and return it to me. Great service! read more

I have stayed in a lot of hotels due to my job, this has got to be the friendliest hotel by far. From checking in to checking out they made me feel welcome. The thing that makes me love this hotel the most is there was an elderly lady staying there whose house jade burnt down (2-3 weeks before Christmas). They treated her as a family member. The front desk man came to work and went right up to her at breakfast to personally tell her good morning, the kitchen staff made sure she had eaten enough and if not they got her what she wanted and the manager told her not to stay in her room but come down and sit by the fire and watch TV or just visit. If there was -stars it would get it.... Half a dozen cars were broken into at this location and the hotel did nothing about it and saw it happen.. They did nothing to notify any patrons that their vehicle was broken into.. I had to personally make an announcement at breakfast to tell everybody to check their vehicles... Worthless staff and horrible criminal location..... STAY AWAY.... The police don't even come out to do anything.. I will never stay at one of these hotel chains again.. read more

Beautiful place, very nice room. Front desk staff was very courteous and greeted us by name every time we came by. One of the days we were there, were were out all day. We left all our valuables out and forgot to put the do not disturb sign on the door. When we came back we found a clean room and all of our stuff untouched. Very nicely done cleaning staff! From the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by Terrance we felt at home and were extremely pleased with our stay! The beds were comfy with nice soft pillows. The rooms were clean, wonderful pool & hot tub with an outside lounge area. Nice hotel except for one thing! Everything thing was clean and updated. They had a nice continental breakfast, the beds were so comfortable, and clean rooms! However the walls are so thin! I could hear everything happening in that hotel. Very early I could here the guest above me, people and kids walking up and down the halls, vacuuming, and doors slamming. I've stayed at La Quinta inns before and those were not nearly as nice as this one. I was told it was recently remodeled. The pictures you see of the rooms are exactly what you get, which is not always the case. I dealt with 4 different front desk staff in my three night stay and all were friendly and polite. I have read a review from someone else that talked about car break ins. When we checked in we were asked our vehicle make and model, but we had taken a cab to arrive so it didn't apply. It seems that they are aware of the issue and trying to address it with the patrons. I did walk to local restaurants, and to the location of my meeting and NEVER felt unsafe. The morning breakfast is pretty much standard fare for this level restaurant. It was all fresh and well maintained. The grounds and rooms where very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

This was a really nice place, with nice staff, until someone on staff stole my husbands and my jackets out of our room! The cleaner was cleaning our room next as we were leaving. I left them in the closet and after 3 hours of driving realized I didn't grab them, called and the front desk and the jackets were gone. They couldn't really ask the cleaner because she has "Broken English" said the manager. I don't feel like the person who stole them will suffer any accountability for the theft and the manage just keep telling me "as of now the jackets are not found" and to "have a great day" :( This was a really really sad experience and I feel like the manager was annoyed with me, the victim. The rest of the staff was really nice, especially the in the breakfast area and the hotel experience was nice. This was just a super sad experience since my jacket was not replaceable. I am super sad about all of it. read more
