Inn At The Lake - View from the bedroom balcony ... Perfect with a glass of wine!

    Inn At The Lake

This bed and breakfast is one of the higher class at a very affordable price. Breakfast served hot…read moreto our room. Fresh orange juice, fruit accompanied our breakfast. One of the best features is a fan located in the room that I used since I love to sleep with a fan blowing directly on me at night. What a wonderful stay..

WOW!!! This place is gorgeous! My husband had some business up in Newport so we decided to go up…read moreand stay the night at this bed and breakfast on the lake. The house is gorgeous and each suite is unique and spacious and comfortable. We felt at home sitting on the luxurious couch in the main living room in front of the fireplace with a view of the lake behind us. They had a Keurig machine with different kinds of coffee/tea/hot chocolate/hot cider to choose from. That was my my first experience using a Keurig and I had so much fun trying different kinds of coffee and tea and having it hot and ready within seconds. I enjoyed taking a hot cup of coffee and sitting in the gorgeous living room and just relaxing with my husband. They have 3 levels and you are welcome to hang out in the common areas on any floor. There are DVDs to watch and cable TV in each suite. I loved the huge tub with the jets in our suite--I took 2 long baths and we were only there one night. Breakfast is served in a lovely dining area with views of the lake. We had several courses--the first being a delicious fruit salad with pudding and a coconut sprinkle on top. The little shortbread bar with strawberries on top was delicious. The main dish was a french toast/bread pudding type of deal with blueberries and was warm and delicious. They refilled our juice and coffees as needed and were very courteous. I plan on going back to stay here in the summer so I can experience staying there in warmer weather. If you want a nice relaxing weekend away from home I highly recommend this place!! You will not regret staying here! P.S. We stayed in the River Suite--it was spacious and comfortable. Next time I'd like to stay in another suite that has views of the lake.

    The Coeur d'Alene Resort - Room 1668

    The Coeur d'Alene Resort

My husband and I moved to the Spokane area earlier this year, so we have been excited to get to…read moreknow the surrounding areas. Coeur d' Alene has been on my list as everyone says how great it is. So, a friend flew to visit over the summer and we spent 2 nights at the resort in their North Wing room. Then another friend came to visit this month, so we returned (with a much better experience). Arrival: Both visits were easy and we self parked. Be aware that there is an elevator from the parking garage to the resort and it is not the same one that will bring you to your room. Easy if you don't have a lot of stuff, but one visit I brought my dog and I could have used a luggage cart. So unload up front and then go park. Check in: Very quick. No wait. On the 2nd stay we were allowed to check in early which was nice. Rooms: North Wing- yikes. It does say on the site it is for the "value minded traveler." It shows. Summer is expensive there and since we were going to be outside the majority of the time it wasn't horrible. However, the room is much like a motel with the window facing a walkway. Ours was right next to the elevator. ugh. The inside was just okay. As others have mentioned, it could use updating. My second stay we stayed in the Lake Tower Room with double beds and fireplace and balcony. It was lovely. Nice room, beds comfortable, but the best was the view. Housekeeping: Unfortunately, both stays no one came to service the room. The Lake Tower even had a button to push when you want it serviced. We were out of the room by late morning and had the button turned on. Oh well. When I called, they did offer to service the room but we were tired and wanted to relax. One minor thing is that there is quite the push for tipping. I believe it came in an email and text. Just thought it was tacky. I've never seen that done before. Amenities: Visited the outdoor Blu pool during the summer. It was busy. My friend and I found an area that was "adults only" (not near the pool) and enjoyed the lake more than the kids in the pool crowd. Restaurants: Dined at Beverly's and Dockside. I will write separate reviews for them. All positive and will be back. The pre fixe dinner (early bird) was a great deal at Beverly's! ***Only policy I would suggest a change on is their charge for pet fee. It's one of the highest I've paid (and I've stayed at 5 star resorts) There is a DAILY $75 fee (someone said they cap at $150). I understand a fee is necessary, but I think that is a bit over the top. Our pup is crated (and prefers it) so does not require that deep level of clean other dogs might need. It might be better to have a standard reasonable fee and then charge the owner if the animal's stay requires additional cleaning.

Coeur d Alene Resort is a beautiful resort. A place of ever changing beauty. There are a multitude…read moreof things to do here. This is our favorite peaceful relaxing spot. We love it here. Making several trips a year here.
