Michael, the owner, is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet, as is the staff on site. The room was perfect and so comfortable! This is walking distance to many of the shops and sites around town. We are already planning our next visit for next year! If you're planning a trip to Gettysburg, I highly recommend staying at the Gaslight Inn. I promise, you will not be disappointed!

I was flying solo, so I stayed in the smallest (cheapest) room - Violet Room - and it was nice if not huge. Bed, bath, etc., were really nice. Room does have TV and wi-fi, but I was "on vacation" and did not use them that much. Mornings I went down, grabbed coffee, and sat out on the 2nd floor balcony reading and enjoying the view of the yard. Weather was great this visit, and this was hard to beat! The public spaces in the inn were plentiful on both 1st and 2nd floors, and I felt very comfortable. Gaslight's location is in the heart of Gettysburg, and everything but the battlefield itself is an easy walk. That included places to eat and get ice cream. I preferred this to being farther out, driving around, finding parking, etc. Hosts - Mike and Jennifer - were great, friendly, answered all questions, and helped with anything I wanted. If you are looking for a 9-room B&B experience with other nice people, want to enjoy the heart of the town of Gettysburg, and do not need a mega-hotel, the Gaslight Inn should be high on your list.

A Review of the Brickhouse Inn, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (in the Style of 1870)…read more During my recent sojourn with my wife to the historic town of Gettysburg, we had occasion to lodge at the esteemed Brickhouse Inn, a house of most commendable character. The establishment itself is of handsome construction, its brick walls bearing the quiet dignity of years well kept. The chambers are appointed with tasteful elegance, and though we have, in our travels, rested upon beds of somewhat greater softness, the comfort of the accommodations was by no means wanting. Yet it was at the breakfast table that the Inn's true excellence shone forth. The morning repast, prepared with notable skill by Mistress Patty and served by Hannah, was of such quality and abundance as to dispel any minor discomforts of the night. Their attentiveness and mastery of the kitchen rendered the meal a delight of the highest order, and I found myself most grateful for her gracious service. In sum, our stay proved exceedingly pleasant, and we departed with a sense of satisfaction and goodwill toward the proprietors. The Brickhouse Inn stands as a worthy refuge for the traveler, offering beauty, hospitality, and a breakfast most splendid indeed

I fully recommend the three-floor climb to walk off some calories from the delicious breakfasts!) Speaking of, innkeepers Carrie and Olivia took great care of us. We were even lucky enough to interact with Co-owner Christine Cambell who was also there for the weekend. (If she's there with you, pick her brain!!! She knows everything Gettysburg and is a most gracious hostess.) The property is very well thought out and appointed. While preserving lots of the look and feel of times gone by, it also affords guests with every modern convenience! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a wonderful retreat in one of our nation's most historic cities. You won't regret it. A. Clyde

The location is good. The breakfasts were uneven: one outstanding, one pretty awful (a cold Egg McMuffin and cottage cheese?), and one so-so. But perhaps they had a new or temporary cook, because other reviewers did not seem to find this to be the case. We did not find a book in our room with information? Instructions on operating the thermostat would have been helpful, as it got quite cold the third night. Parking is very generous. All in all, we would return, as this was definitely the nicest of the three B&Bs in which I have stayed in Gettysburg.

We stayed a couple days to take in the battlefield education and experience. Room was large, clean and had all the expected amenities. The front desk was very kind helpful. Big bonus for us was the breakfast downstairs each morning so we didn't have to hunt for food in town. It is located just outside of the main downtown touristy streets, and right on the beginning of the historic tours for cars or to grab a professional tour bus.

The staff member was super accommodating, had no issue with it, and actually tried to check us in early if the room was ready. The lobby was decorated nicely, seemed clean, and was brightly lit and spacious. The room itself was clean, as was the bathroom. The shower took a little while to get as hot as I wanted and the pressure was never great. We didn't partake in the breakfast the next morning, but the set up looked pretty expansive. I saw yogurt, eggs, assorted baked goods, fruit, and a waffle station. Several families expressed interest in the indoor pool, while we were checking in. Would definitely stay here again. It's more than worth the price.
