This place has been one of my favorite for years, food reminds me of being in Guadalajara and prices were reasonable. I know with info everything changes and it seems it's also changed ownership so that would affect it as well. Placed an order to go today and the service was terrible, when asked for extra hot sauce which is a key part of the meal being authentic they charged me .50 cents extra for each container, I paid with credit card and I paid when I placed my order so they charged me another $2.50 for the extra salsa and $1 fee for paying with my credit card which they failed to mention. All of things considered I believe in customer service specially when buying from a local business and with my experience today I will not be going back. Just seriously super solid. The tortas are so simple and that simplicity is elegant. The bread is fantastic. The carnitas or barbacoa in the torta soak up the tomato sauce. The veggies are crisp. Perfect combo. They don't mess around with the heat of the spicy sauce and it always leaves me sweating and crying but it is so damn delicious and worth the pain. Also great tacos durados. read more

It's hard to find authentic Mexican food, even harder when it's traditional Guadalajara food. This place tastes like home! The food is fresh and delicious and tastes exactly like the tortas and tacos we eat in Mexico. For people like me who really knows what tortas ahogadas are this place is just "ok"... not really authentic , to start off the onions for the torta and tacos should be marinated with lime, salt and oregano (just like in Guadalajara) not just raw onions like the ones they serve here. Second, their sauce needs to be more thicker so you get more it that tomato flavor into the torta, not just water, their hot sauce is authentic though. Third, they should serve the cilantro and onion for their barbacoa tacos separately (on the side) so they don't get cooked and the flavored from the barbacoa, so when you eat barbacoa tacos creates a perfect balance between the barbacoa and raw onion and cilantro! Also the carnitas on their tacos are very dry, you can't even taste the pork flavor, they should probably just make smaller batches or heat it up per order so it doesn't get that dry. read more

Drawn to this north Hollywood outpost by a well known Mexican Chef buddy, with the promise of the definitive Torta Ahogada. The eponymous sandwich originating from Guadalajara, made from "bigote" or Pan Salado" stuffed with tender pork then "drown" in a very spicy salsa containing varying amounts of chile de arbol and chipotle. The version at La Ramadita was also soaked in a pork au jus as well. It was a delicious rendition, garnished with some simple fresh cut onions and more of a super spicy salsa to elevate your chile content, as if it really needs it. Also notable, the make a bad-assed Barbacoa taco that is not to be missed if you happen to be a fan of this dish. We are clients since 5+ years ago. We been coming here every time we are on the area, we are from Guadalajara Jalisco where the authentic tortas ahogadas are from. This is the closest possible that we have found! Love the service and that they are prompt with take out. Just a few tips: please don't give one or two napkins per order, we need much more than that! Also, I don't think the tacos dorados are cheap, they are well prepared but slightly pricey compared to other places around. read more

Very hard to review this place. By advertising Las Chivas, and the Atlas (soccer teams), one immediately assumes they're familiar with regional authentic food from Guadalajara yet, after one bite, it becomes apparent the tortas are missing the typical re-fried beans and manteca-fried pork (real mexican carnitas, not boiled on some pressure pot) or what is commonly used on what is known as a "torta del mercado de san juan de dios", then again, by not adhering to the authentic recipe they manage to make the whole torta deliberately more healthy and light (which is definitely a positive thing for some people, myself included). Other than this, their other dishes are pretty spot on, from their barbacoa tacos which have incredibly tasty meat to the potato ones even including both their salsas which personally I found incredibly perfect for a good hang-over morning. TL;DR, while not too authentic, the tortas are amazing and very light and healthy. If you want the real deal, "La Chiva Torta" is the ideal choice and the drive to the OC is definitely worth it, but for a quick taste/bite La Ramadita is definitely worth the try. read more

The tortas are SPICY, as they should be (and oh so good), but they also have the option of getting it with a none spicy sauce. I also tried the tacos of Barbacoa and that too did not disappoint. This place is authentic as they come down to the little brick made kitchen. They take your order and hand it to you through a small window. I have been wanting to try this place. The place is small and the food its ok. I tried the tacos ahogados and I felt a missing of flavor. The onions arent the typical purple onion for tortas ahogadas, they are white thick onions, so the flavor was very strong .
