Found a piece of plastic in my beans. I'm disappointed because the last time I went to La Rienda I had a good experience but haven't been back in years and now will not be back. Also the steak tacos were incredibly salty and barely edible.

Was really craving Mexican food, the chips were good so I asked for Queso... was brought and charged $11 for a solid block of cheese and butter...lost our appetite quick and didn't even want to order full meals. The drinks and deserts were good tho. A little pricey too

Picked this spot on a whim on our way home to Hunterdon County, and we are so happy we did! Everything was so fresh and delicious and you could tell it was homemade. The Steak a la Mexicana was spicy and flavorful with tender steak, the Carne Adobada was chargrilled and delicious, and my seven year old was raving about the kids quesadilla. We also really enjoyed the guacamole and queso fundido appetizers. Do not miss the homemade salsas and hot sauces! And of course- a margarita!

Decent Mexican but nothing good enough to make me want to come back. We visited after completing a nearby hike and service was great but food was average. They also didn't honor the Yelp check in discount.

    Bistec Encebollado

I came here with a group of friends around 4 p.m. and parking was already pretty limited, so I can imagine that it's much worse during peak dining hours. We sat on the outdoor patio area, which was pretty and quaint. I thought our waitress was sweet and attentive. Even though the prices are reasonable, I wasn't impressed with the food at La Rienda. I ordered the bistec encebollado and tried some of my friend's entree, the churrasco. I wasn't expecting the bistec encebollado to be cut up because when I've ordered previously at other Spanish restaurants, I was served a whole piece of steak. Despite looking a little different than expected, it tasted pretty on par. I found the dish flavorful but extremely salty. I have similar thoughts about the churrasco, but found it to be overcooked as well. The rice and beans that came with it to be average. I also found the guacamole we ordered for the table to be average. Because I'm not from the area, I don't really see myself coming back here. Nothing about my experience here really stood out to me, but this isn't to say that the food is bad. I've just had better closer to home.

Shrimp with wine, lemon, & a hint of Cajun spice- yummy!

Amazing tacos. The portion sizes are hefty as well; always a plus. Great service. Good prices. Love the vibe too.

Great food. Nice staff. It's loud, but charming. Bathroom needs attention. We've ordered in and it's well done.

I've driven by this place for many years and never stopped in. I will definitely be back!…read more The service was amazing! You can sit inside or out. It's BYO but they have many non-alcoholic options. My cousin ordered sopes which I've never had before. They are light dough filled with beans, shredded chicken, guacamole and veggies. Yum! She also got a vegetable taco bowl. It was huge and filled to the brim with delicious veggies. Her daughter birria tacos. They were double tacos and the meat was seasoned perfectly. I filled up on the amazing pico and other sauces with the freshly made chips and guacamole. I ended up taking most of my food home. Mini Shredded chicken bites and beef flautas.

We were celebrating Chester 250 Day in town and it was HOT. We decided to pop into Fresco Mexican…read moreeven though were weren't really hungry. The restaurant is really cute and decorated really colorfully. It feels like a lot of the restaurant it hand-painted! We got a seat immediately and were served chips with three different salsas. The waiter was so patient and explained each salsa to us. I loved trying each flavor. I ordered the gazpacho, and tried a bit of my husband's beef tacos. The gazpacho was DELICIOUS and exactly what I needed on that hot summer day. It was so refreshing and bursting with flavor. I felt bad just ordering soup but the staff was super polite about it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband's tacos came with lots of toppings, which come on the side, so you are kind of left to assemble your own taco. I feel like they should add the toppings in the kitchen, then the presentation would be much better! Nevertheless the tacos were so delicious, and the beef was perfectly tender. Overall this was a great stop!
