Found a piece of plastic in my beans. I'm disappointed because the last time I went to La Rienda I had a good experience but haven't been back in years and now will not be back. Also the steak tacos were incredibly salty and barely edible.

Was really craving Mexican food, the chips were good so I asked for Queso... was brought and charged $11 for a solid block of cheese and butter...lost our appetite quick and didn't even want to order full meals. The drinks and deserts were good tho. A little pricey too

Picked this spot on a whim on our way home to Hunterdon County, and we are so happy we did! Everything was so fresh and delicious and you could tell it was homemade. The Steak a la Mexicana was spicy and flavorful with tender steak, the Carne Adobada was chargrilled and delicious, and my seven year old was raving about the kids quesadilla. We also really enjoyed the guacamole and queso fundido appetizers. Do not miss the homemade salsas and hot sauces! And of course- a margarita!

Decent Mexican but nothing good enough to make me want to come back. We visited after completing a nearby hike and service was great but food was average. They also didn't honor the Yelp check in discount.

    Bistec Encebollado

I came here with a group of friends around 4 p.m. and parking was already pretty limited, so I can imagine that it's much worse during peak dining hours. We sat on the outdoor patio area, which was pretty and quaint. I thought our waitress was sweet and attentive. Even though the prices are reasonable, I wasn't impressed with the food at La Rienda. I ordered the bistec encebollado and tried some of my friend's entree, the churrasco. I wasn't expecting the bistec encebollado to be cut up because when I've ordered previously at other Spanish restaurants, I was served a whole piece of steak. Despite looking a little different than expected, it tasted pretty on par. I found the dish flavorful but extremely salty. I have similar thoughts about the churrasco, but found it to be overcooked as well. The rice and beans that came with it to be average. I also found the guacamole we ordered for the table to be average. Because I'm not from the area, I don't really see myself coming back here. Nothing about my experience here really stood out to me, but this isn't to say that the food is bad. I've just had better closer to home.

We found this place on Yelp after a horseback riding trip. The place was empty Bc it was pretty early in the day. The food was fresh, nice drinks, great atmosphere and the workers were very nice. The owner came over and spoke to us about his family and their background. If I'm ever in the area I will definitely return.

Shrimp with wine, lemon, & a hint of Cajun spice- yummy!

Tacos were awesome and the prices were pretty great. Only complaint would be the parking lot situation!

It's a very casual, cafeteria-style spot with a semi-open kitchen, but don't let the simplicity fool you -- the food is incredible and the staff here is friendly and patient. The highlight of the experience is the small buffet that features a variety of freshly-made Latin cuisine -- including pulled pork, chicken and beef stews, and other traditional Latin entrees and sides. You can build your own plate by selecting one or more entrees and sides - which are priced accordingly. As a 'gringo' who wasn't entirely sure what everything was, I really appreciated them taking the extra time to explain all the different options and give me their honest recommendations. The counterstaff is bilingual and were pretty patient with my elementary school level Spanish vocabulary and grammar. I ended up going with the pulled pork platter with two sides ($7) and it was terrific -- the perfectly seasoned and tender pork, black beans and rice, and macaroni salad were delicious and very filling. You can tell they use fresh ingredients, and the portions are very generous for the price. If you're looking for authentic, home-style Latino food in a laid-back setting, this is the spot! PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home to enjoy with your meal. Sazon Latino is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol. PRO TIP #2: Sazon Latino offers free off-street parking in a small lot behind the restaurant and there's plenty of free on-street parking on Main Street.

Their estofado, fried chicken, and the pernil are my go-tos. They have a somewhat small space but there is parking in the back. Visited for first time this past Saturday…read more Gentlemen working behind counter was super friendly, and the coffee he prepared for me was 100% excellent! Purchased a variety of Empanadas to bring home and try. Perhaps my mistake was not ordering all of them with cheese, since their are different options. , Nonetheless, I ordered the Spinach empanada, beef and cheese, chicken empanada, and the spicy chorizo. Portion control not in effect apparently. Spinach empanada was packed with way to much spinach, and unfortunately had zero flavor. Ground beef and cheese empanada was only about 1/2 way filled with meat, so much more dough than anything else. Also, average flavor. Chicken Empanada was dry, and really required a lot of sour cream, hot sauce, and cheese just to make it edible. Chorizo empanada was definitely a good one. Would not rush back, glad I tried, and again, great service. Cute little shop as well, and perhaps their other items are not hit or miss?
