Decent vegetarian unfriendly spot. We made a reservation online which seemed necessary when we got there. Communal seating and also side two person tables. The menu is simple and to the point: meat and side. A few appetizers are available. We got the duck terrine which was decent. Then the mix grill which is roast duck, pork, veal, and lamb. Also an extra order of veal with ratatouille. Not bad. With wine it was a decently priced meal at 52€. Nothing to write home about but perhaps it's worth it for the lamb. All the other meat was tres bien.

I ordered the roast lamb with ratatouille and for dessert the pitaschio creme brûlée. The lamb was tender and juicy however my vegetables were cold. Not sure if it's supposed to be serve that way. I ordered the pitaschio creme brûlée upon the servers recommendation, it was ok. Service and staff are awesome! The chef made rounds to make sure all was good.

This was my favorite dinner spot in Nice. I loved it so much I ate here twice during my short stay. I stumbled across La Rossettisserie when I couldn't get reservations at a nearby restaurant. It's a quaint rotisserie bistro in the center of Old Town. The menu is simple and is written out on a blackboard on the wall. The general gist is that you choose one roasted meat option with one vegetable. There are appetizers and desserts in addition. I thoroughly enjoyed the roast beef each time, which was flavorful and not at all dry. I love my beef on the rare side and this didn't disappoint. It was perfection. For my vegetable, I chose the roasted potatoes the first time and the ratatouille the second time. I also ordered a lovely eggplant dip with shrimp for my appetizer. It was a bit on the bland side, but it was still good. For dessert I had the most lush pistachio crème brulee. The prices are very reasonable. The service was great and the English speaking staff were friendly and welcoming. The first time, I was seated at a communal table around other diners and we all had a great time getting acquainted. The second time, I was sat at my own table. Definitely recommend.

Beef and lamb is amazing. Ratatouille is a must-try. We've missed this cute restaurant since we left Nice:)

The food was amazing. Very flavorful, friendly staff. Would definitely go back. I went with the lamb and ratatouille, initially I was just looking for a good dinner and I a stared at the menu the server guided me through it- sounded convincing enough. Say outside and the meal was amazing.

Wonderful rotisserie restaurant in the old town section of Nice! Tasty food and tastefully decorated place - combined with my very helpful waiter - provided an outstanding first meal in Nice. Like a previous reviewer, I had no reservation late on a Friday night - just patiently waited a few minutes for a table to become available (but timing is everything: others were turned away after me since I grabbed the last table). I had the pork because the chicken was already gone - in the end, that was no problem because the pork was OUTSTANDING (check out the photo)! Roasted potatoes, bread, and a small carafe of wine...welcome to basic French food heaven!

Sitting here reviewing La Rossettisserie and re visiting my pictures just makes me want to catch the next flight back to Nice. La Rossettisserie is located in Nice's Old Town and receives rave reviews just about anywhere you look. I walked in and asked for a table around 6pm but was told the evening was booked solid, I was however offered a table the following day which satisfied me. Upon returning we were seated in the basement which was simply awesome! Living in a city where basements don't exist it just seemed so warm and cozy! The food here is simple yet delectable, a menu of 5 meats awaited us on the night (chicken, beef, lamb, pork, or veal) and was paired along with some delicious accompaniments. I opted for the lamb and was just blown away! Cooked to perfection it was simply unbelievable. We also enjoyed a great bottle of French Red Wine, suggested by our waiter and the best Creme Brûlée I have probably ever experienced. The prices were surprisingly reasonable for the touristy Old Town and a charming stroll through the narrow streets, back to your hotel, awaits you after dinner. Would love to go back and hopefully will!

Great meal in France!…read more This was a fantastic first dinner in Nice right off the main drag. We had reservation for 7pm and arrived a few minutes early. We waited a few minutes while they prepped our table and we were seated promptly. The vibe was cool, very French cafe feeling on the streets. The waiters were kind and attentive was you settled in. They patiently answered all our menu questions. We ordered the fois gras (because when in France), the duck and the octopus. All the food was excellent, the fois gras was perfect (although probably wouldn't order it again for ethical reasons). The octopus was absolutely perfect, very very easy to screw up, but they nailed it; every bit melting in our mouths. The duck breast was perfect, juicy and cooked to perfect. All the dishes were served with plenty of accompaniment. Great meal for a great French experience. Would highly recommend.

It happened to be happy hour so I was able to take advantage of some great drink deals. For my dinner, I ordered the duck with vegetables, potatoes, and added a side of ratatouille. It was all very good and the portions were large for the price. The orange sauce was unique and it seemed to have orange peels in it as well. While this might be more of a touristy spot with this location, it was a true French menu, which was my goal. The food and service were very good and I'll come back.

This was our favorite meal of our trip to Nice!…read more Warning: Reservations are hard to come by we dropped by and only reservations available were for 9pm two nights later. We took it. The place is super relaxed. 5 maybe 6 tables which made the difficulty of reservations more understandable. Prix fix menu - 4 appetizers to choose from, 4 entrees and 4 desserts. We were there with somewhat of a limited diet, but the options were awesome. We got a cauliflower appetizer and an artichoke one. Both were excellent. We all had the cod for dinner also delicious - served in a bath of traditional fish soup and with potatoes. The dessert was also excellent - we got the goat cheese in olive oil and garlic, the cream cheese with blueberry compote, lemon cheesecake and cinnamon "tiramisu". Every bite was full of flavor and such cool takes on the food. Now the intangibles - we arrived for our 9pm reservation, restaurant closes at 9:30 and we probably didn't walk out until 11:15 and there was still another table of 8 people dining. The host/waiter, Sebastian, was awesome. So friendly and we at no point felt rushed. In fact the opposite. When our daughter was slow in finishing her meal he joked with her instead of hurrying us along. Once we finished our main dish, he casually brought us our dessert and because we didn't order his favorite (we didn't know) he brought us out an extra to enjoy. We felt a little bad so somewhat accelerated the dessert phase so we could square up and leave. Instead he was unhurried, he casually cleared our table and chatted with us for a bit. It took us another 15 minutes before we finally said could we get the bill. He brought it to us another 5-7 minutes later. We had a great experience and one of our best meals in France, if not the best.

Overall, I'd say the food is a 3.5/5 but the value is 5/5. I'd recommended Chez Palmyre if you want a real Nice experience, especially on a budget. Be sure to make a reservation well in advance.
